Imagine!!

Nigeria that wins U20 World Cup like beans could not even qualify this time. Gambia even had a red card!!

This is a sign of things to come.

Just like Nigeria that won AFCON in 2013 suddenly couldn't beat Sierra Leone and Cape Verde under Buhari

Tinubu's Presidency is bad omen.

Nigeria has never won the U-20 World Cup before.

Ghana is the only African country that has won it.

And for your information, by reaching the semifinals of the competition (even though we lost to Gambia today), we qualified for the U-20 world cup which would hold in Indonesia later this year.

Stop spreading misinformation.

How can obi be a Godfather when he's not from Lagos State, or even Yoruba?

Wike that went to endorse Seyi makinde, will Wike now become a Godfather in Oyo State?

Or do you expect Peter obi to ask obidients to vote for APC or PDP?
Is he not supposed to endorse his fellow party member?

Why are you guys always accusing Igbos?

Is that how you people do?

Please is there any other Yoruba person here to explain to me, what's happening??

You are not getting it.

All I will say is that this was how they idolized Nnamdi Kanu.

I don't know maybe it has to do with their precolonial aversion to kings that make the Igbos hungry for someone to worship.

Messages are being framed to this effect: "Our leader (Peter Obi) has asked everyone to vote for so and so".

This is a dangerous message. Obi endorses someone. He doesn't have to force people to vote for the person.

Moreover, is the Obidient movement the same as Labour Party?

This is ironical.

LP say they want to remove Baba Sope politics in Lagos state.

They say Sanwo-Olu must be removed because he is a Tinubu stooge.

But guess how they are going about it, turning Obi into a godfather.

They want to replace the Baba Sope politics that they claim to hate so much with Baba Sope politics.

They want an Obi stooge in Lagos state.

I hope everyone can see through the Obidients. It was never about wanting a new Nigeria.

And lastly, the 2023 presidential election is the last thing to aggrieve AU.

I mean there are worse things happening on the continent to warrant AU's sanction.

Look at Kegame who has been ruling Rwanda since 1994. All the elections he has had since 2000 were massively rigged, and yet AU countries did not pull out embassies from Rwanda.

A movement that saw many people across Tribal lines come together and vote is being destroyed.

By who?

1. The inexperienced Youngsters of Nairaland.

2. Politicians who want to divide it.

3. Other person's with personal interest.

Fact:

1. Igbos did not give Peter obi the votes he got.
Nigerians did.

2. Lagos isa Yorubaland. Visitors should respect their host. Host should respect their visitors.

3. After labour party won Lagos, those three categories of people (listed above) started making the Victory an igbo affair.

This is shameful. I hope this will stop.

Every Nigerian has the right to live anywhere and vote their choice. However, pushing the narrati that igbos own Lagos should please stop

...at least, for the sake of the Peace loving igbos in that City.

Let's be careful with what we say here.

Stop spreading hate.

I voted Obi. I am Yoruba.

Personally, I believe he earned the second term.

If you don't believe this, please vote your choice. However, let's avoid every utterances that may set the visitors against the host.

I see a.lot on Twitter.

Please, can we not tribialize the Obi movement.

If we do, it will fail soonest.

By the way, if the presidential election is conducted again, I will vote for Peter obi.

If the movement is tribalized, I will dissociate myself from it....

I believe,.every right thinking Nigerian will do the same.

Spread love. Not hate.

It has always been tribal.

99% of Obidients are Igbos.

And this percentage is usually the most vocal and toxic on social media. They abuse every dissenting voice, and tag every opposing voice as an enemy of Nigeria.

I am sorry to say, that movement will not last. It would take a turn and become secessionist, demanding Biafra.

They have been making inciteful statements reminiscent of those made that caused the people of Kano to slaughter the Igbos in 1966.

Let me tell you a little bit of history.

In January, 1966, a coup deposed Tafawa Balewa and many top government officials from the Northern and the Western region. The Igbos in Kano went about mocking the murder of Ahmadu Bello. The Kano people could not bear the insult. I am sure the same thing must have happened with Igbo officers in the Nigerian Army. The slaughter soon began as Igbos were being slaughtered everywhere in the Army and in Kano. Ojukwu had to ask all Igbos to return to the East. As usual, Ojukwu played the victim's card saying that the Igbos were unfairly targeted.

It is unfortunate that the Igbos have not learnt their lessons. They go to another man's land and forget their position as guests.

The candidate of Labour Party, LP, Mr Peter Obi, on Friday, secured leave of the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja to have access to all the sensitive materials the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, deployed for the conduct of the presidential election held on February 25.

No one has ever opposed access to sensitive materials.

So, APC never contested with LP for that.

So, what victory are you talking about?

In 2019, the court granted PDP access to sensitive materials and they still eventually lost.

Since contesting under a weak structureless party provides the pathway to winning, why did Tinubu not decamp and contest under SDP ?

Why did he spend millions of dollars to get the ticket of APC that you believes added no value to his ambition ?

Forget the few Nigerians in the city who are aware that APC has fail Nigeria. Most Nigerians live in the villages and vote along religious and tribal sentiments. Many also vote base on party structures.

APC lost in the cities like Abuja and Lagos but the villagers gave Tinubu the victory just as they gave Buhari in 2019.

Peter Obi as the candidate of APC will have won with a landslide since both the elites in the city and the villagers will vote him.

The elites in the cities refused to vote APC because they did not see much difference between Tinubu and Buhari. They are both old, sick and have controversial academic background. Buhari is even better than Tinubu in terms of corruption perception.

APC won Benue where the party is hated because their guber candidate is a popular youth. Hence many Nigerians who refused to vote APC would have voted the party had they present a better presidential candidate.

You are lost in your own argument. Moreover, Tinubu is not one to run away from a fight, even if it is next to impossible to win. Unlike Obi and Atiku.

Also, in case you have forgotten your own argument, we are talking about the election contested by APC, LP, NNPP, and PDP.

Who is the strongest politician of the three, excluding Kwankwaso?

The strongest was Bola Ahmed Tinubu who faced the most challenges. He had his work cut out for him contesting under APC.

Obi had the easiest opportunities, but he messed it up with his lack of depth of character. His mob of Obidients put the final nail in his coffin with their unguided utterances and fanatical support which can be likened to terrorism.

Keep deceiving yourself.

If Buhari poor performance was a burden to Tinubu's campaign, why then did Tinubu went to Aso Rock to beg the same Buhari to join him in his campaign across the the north.

Without Buhari and APC northern Governors, Tinubu would have been humiliated in the north by Atiku. The muslim-muslim ticket was also a good strategy. Had Tinubu settled for a northern Christian, Buhari supporters who are mainly Islamic fundamentals would have serve him breakfast in the north.

The fact is that Tinubu is a lightweight politician. That is the reason he could not win his state even with all the rigging.

He climbed on the back of Buhari and APC northern Governors to win. That was what Shagari did in 1979. He was a lightweight but defeated heavyweights like Zik and Awolowo by climbing the back of the power brokers.

Tinubu as the candidate of Labour party will have finish with 1. 2 million votes and winning only three states - Ogun, Ekiti and Ondo.

English no hard now.

The perceived failings of APC was one of the reasons that people gave for not supporting Tinubu.

In fact, on this Nairaland, on Twitter, and even offline, I know the trouble I have gone through trying to convince people that you can't judge Tinubu based on the performances of Buhari.

The usual statements people make is "With all this suffering, I will never vote for APC except I am mad".

It was a big burden for Tinubu having to shake that off. Now, couple with the Muslim-Muslim ticket which was very hard to sell.

Obi had the clearest path to the presidency.

Many were already dissatisfied with Buhari's performance, and they were regarding the performance as an APC performance.

Also, many did not trust PDP.

Also, Obi was the only Christian frontrunner.

Let us analyse the election result without sentiment.

Tinubu contested the election on a structure with 21 Governors . Atiku contested on a structure with 14 Governors. Peter Obi contested on a structure with zero Governors.

Hence Tinubu can be compare to a University student considering his party structure. Atiku can be compare to a secondary school student considering his party structure. Obi can be compare to a primary school student considering his party structure.

When the three sat for exam, Tinubu scored 37%, Atiku scored 29% while Obi scored 25%.

While Tinubu came first in the exam, it is obvious that Peter Obi is the most intelligent among the three.
When you relate this to politics, it is obvious that Peter Obi is the strongest politician among the three.

Your argument is weak.

Tinubu was the strongest.

He had a Muslim-Muslim ticket that was hard to sell.

He was burdened by the perceived terrible performance of APC.

The APC was evidently divided in their support for him. There was obvious antagonism from party members such as Emefiele. In fact, the president's body language did not indicate total support for Tinubu.

Nearly all the churches were against him.

The majority of the Igbos were against him.

Yet he won.

Obi is the weakest of the three frontrunners.

He was painted a saint.

Had the perceived poor performance of the APC to ride on.

Had the general distrust that many have for PDP to ride on.

And yet, he lost.

Give Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu the opportunities Obi had, and Tinubu would have been congratulated as winner before 4pm of election day.
