Please, is there any significant advantage foreign tiles have over their Nigerian counterparts?
For those who have used the made in Nigeria ones or dealing in tiles, what's the experience like?
Which category would you freely recommend? Those people spamming this thread with tiles should come and answer ooo |

KolaShangOne: Yes. Yes.
If done well, I think it's okay for low budget builds.
I do not know how it will look long term though. When screeded it's no longer low budget.. When you screed it the price is par with pop. |

EgunMogaji2: On this POP issue. I’ll never use it again and will choose ready made gypsum boards.
1) Easier for repairs. For me.
2) Cleaner to install.
3) Regimented thickness throughout.
Only caveat is to watch out for potentially tainted Chinese ones. Sir, can you pls enlighten us on why you would never use pop again? |

FEGEITOK: This raises the question. When these guys install POP ceilings do they give guarantees like this will last 5 years before needing any maintenance at all or major maintenance?
I feel it's unfair to commit so much funds to something that looks aesthetically appealing but whose lifespan is unknown.
How then do we calculate ROI on the investment?
Of course things like water damage from a bad roof cannot be their fault, but what sort of guarantees if any are given?
Is the guarantee on paper? And will they stand by their work or is it a one off deal and the client will deal with the aftermaths of any wrongs done by the installer alone? Very good observations, I have not seen anyone complain of his/her pop though.... |

hamtabfawaz: Good Evening Sir.
Cleaning is definitely not part of the scope of work for Pop workers. That's meant for the cleaners.
However, you can respectfully request them to clean up for you, before or after you've given the job.
Diverting poor Labour's balance after they've completed your job, just because they didn't clean up the site for you, is really not a kind thing to do sir.✓
This is just a call to attention✓. God bless you Sir. If you mess up my house and you didn't clean it after your service... My brother, there's nothing like respectfully requesting for you to clean it up... I must scold you for messing with my house... Imagine leaving your car for a mechanic and he messed up your seat with oil... Or giving a cobbler your shoe and leaves hardened gum allover your shoe... And you tell me to start negotiating cleaning.... What is worth doing is worth doing well... |

What we called Cameron sink here looks like aluminum sink designs it’s comes in different colours blue, green, black etc BUT different in material to real Aluminum Pic 1 is cameroun zinc (that roof is more than 8years, still counting. Pic 2 is rusted Nigeria zinc

sonnie10: Bros I completely understand what you are saying . In 2014 , somebody asisted an old man in the community to change his leaking roof with the original Cameroon zinc. That zinc is still shining till date. I'm smelling that "somebody" is you... But you come in peace without pepper Thats 8yrs ago... The original cameroon zinc lasts, its better than Nigeria zinc, and short span. |

rotecch77: Roof of 10yrs is NOT roof it’s beta to use Aluminum then , more so if I have the opportunity to get those Cameron sheet that got rusted in diff location as I said earlier I will take the pics and post it here. Or May be the one in Lagos is diff shaaa bcs it’s NOT good at all I'm not saying the lifespan stops at 10yrs.... When a product is given a guarantee of 5yrs it doesn't mean it stops working after 5yrs.....remember what we are discussing is a cheaper alternative.... But its better to use the cameroon zinc than short span aluminium. Those rusted roofs u see are not cameroon zinc, they are Nigeria zinc. |

rotecch77: If it’s 48k as at 2015 then it might be high grade as you said. But the issue is that OP want low cost roofing and most of the one you will see out there are not good so its beta to look for another option Nigeria zinc is cheap, its around 80 or 70k but it rusts after a while. So cameroon zinc is his best bet if he wants cheap roofing that lasts. It does not rust. |

rotecch77: My brother don’t just go near that Cameron roofing sheet it’s not good at all, after 2-3yrs you will regret using it. Unless if the building is just temporary one that just need shelter, even if so you still have many options to this I.e -old sink pan -short bundle Low cost Aluminum - asbestos (this is safe to use now ….talking about health issue) This info is not entirely correct... Cameron zinc is still viable choice and it has a life span of more than 10 years... It is still a preferred choice to short span... The issue there is that... Just like every other products, it has grades 1 2 3... Just go for the highest grade and feel at home... |
