The Marriage Act of Nigeria does recognize traditional or customary marriage as legal marriages and under such you are just as "protected" as you would be having done any other ceremony (i.e. court or church)...with the exception of the bigamy law because obviously with traditional beliefs you can have multiple wives. Even with that trust naija men sha if they want more than one "wife" it won't matter how you were married.
But yes even courts (even immigration) acknowledges the legality of customary marriages and will award child support etc. The problem comes in the proving that you're married as you typically don't have documents of trads...that's where women end up being burned. The solution is just as a poster said above. Have an affidavit done that serves as a legally binding certificate.
I've researched this extensively because I am planning on just having a trad and have our pastor bless the union...but I personally find all the other stuff over kill and an unnecessary expense... getting married three times! Really

There would offcourse be a lot of smaller tasks to deal with...

MY ADVICE: Don't waste the 2m thinking it's too small to achieve something; it can achieve a lot - Just roof the building and use the balance for internal works, as much as it can take.

NOTE: I did this with the assumption that you have done the concrete flooring, and there is plastering of about 300k too...

the size of your building will determine how far that amount will go but it will definitely take you closer to moving into the house, the height of your roof will also determine how much materials it will cost you on the roofing ,the higher the roof the higher the cost of materials it takes but be rest assured that you are moving in soon. I don't know the right section to post this so let me drop it here.
I opened an account with fcmb and after some months I went to collect the atm card so I could be able to withdraw.
They requested for my bvn, they checked and said I will not be given atm card because the name that is registered with is (not real name) Emeka adekunle ciroma instead of Emeka ciroma adekunle. They said the name must align with each other.
When I asked for remedy, they said I should bring affidavit and police report that I am the same person.
Pls who knows how I should handle this situation without going to police or swearing affidavit. Because this is a simple situation and I don't understand why they are making it difficult. Or they don't know their jobs....

Hello my great Engineers in the house, please I will like to be enlightened on the construction of a water tank stand over a septic tank. My engineer advised I build my tank stand on the septic / soak away tank we are about to construct. He said we will only need 4pcs of 16mm to reinforce the water tank stand pillar from inside the ground to the top(where d water tank will be placed). And 12mm rods will be used for other things like underground pillars, first chaining, second chaining and the slab.
Please is this best way to go about it?

I think it's safe cos my engineer suggested same to me because of lack of space, but to avoid had I known I rejected it. And luckily, the owner of land behind mine was willing to sell his land so I bought it.
I think it's safe but the plan has to be included before starting the construction of the septic tank.

Asbestos products have been banned in Nigeria and most parts of the world. It means production of asbestos based products has seized long ago so whatever product that had asbestos as a constituent of the product has replaced the material with another suitable option.

The old asbestos sheets used to be majorly cement-asbestos fibre which is the binder-reinforcement bond. The new sheets has asbestos fibre replaced with cellulose fibre. The new sheets is now cement-cellulose fibre which is the same arrange as before, binder-reinforcement.

People still call it asbestos cos it still physically resembles the old asbestos which actually has the same major constituent, cement.

If i am to recommend to a client this ceiling or roofing sheet, if i say cellulose fibre, he will demand for explanation but if i say asbestos, he knows exactly what it is only that there is no more asbestos.

Its like calling all magerine blue band or all toothpaste maclean or all aerosol insecticide sheltox or all seasoning cubes maggi or all cotina shoes bata. Nigerians are fond of that. What if ur borehole is 20ft away from ur soakaway, but 5ft away from ur neighbour's soakaway and that's the only available space what are you going to do?
Like I said, nature has a way of taking care of those things we worry so much about.
People even dig ordinary well beside a soakaway and still drink it and still be fit.
Remember you can always boil ur water before drinking, or u add all these chlorine based stuffs they add in drinking water, but boiling is ur best bet.
