Enigma et al,
I have seen C band dishes work Ku band lnbs for Ku band channels.
Is it in anyway possible to have C band lnbs installed on Ku band dish (eg. the popular 90cm)
for c band channels. As anyone tried something like this before?
Looking forward to your great replies.

Hi all,

here is just a brief of the installation/tracking of Eutelsat W3A

IT WASNT EASY.

I couldnt tracked the satellite on saturday, has anybody here in the house done that before?
If so kindly post the pictures or screenshots of some of the channels here on this forum.

I will give full details of my experience in some days time, have not been happy since my blue club lost yesterday.

And one more thing, i really love Nairaland, all Nairalanders i've been meeting are very nice and we treat eachother as if we belong to same family, but truly we do and the family is nairaland.com, all thanks to seun osewa.
Enitan, just look around for any deeper life bible church branch.
You will most likely see a 90cm dish facing the heavens.
The dish is used for receiving their weekly bible study broadcasted on W3.
Goodluck

some few more channels are up on Pas 10.
Just do a rescan of your stb.
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Official Thread of Free-To-Air Satellite TV (Part 1) by bodejohn(m): 1:37pm On Mar 03, 2008
I had a first thought of leaving the forum after uploading the details of the channel because i do not like people who talk and speak before thinking. That i have just 35 posts does not mean i am a kid in Fta. Like i have said earlier i will not join issues with people that i know to be very controversial and self centered.
But to see the responses of two people that i respect i will change my mind.
I hate when i am been called a liar as i also try not to hurt people's feelings.
For the Thomases in the house these are the details of the channel
Satellite: Nss 7 @ 22W
Frequency: 11.672Ghz
Symbol rate: 2.790Ms/s
Vpid: 4194
Apid: 4195
Ppid: 4194
Cas: Free
Signal strenght is 60%
I tracked it with a 90cm dish.

Another channel is up on Pas 10, it is Called My channel, i do not have all the details now but it is on the view africa network, that makes it another religious channel.

Thanks Enigma you are my man.

@ all,
as i so much have admirations for information being shared on this forum based on FTA, so i so much dislike wrong info or better still a rumour in a lay-man language. A guy named bodejohn if am right said he got TV Malawi on nss7 at Ibadan which i didn't believe i thought if i do a re-scan on my system i might be able to receive its signal but to my dismay nothing came up.
The only difference i got was a station named 'MISE A JOUR' but whats being aired on this station is the same with France24 french but without audio. I'm hereby imploring us all to do away with passing of wrong info on this forum, because most theoretical info we praticalised are gotten from this great forum.
I am beginning to get disappointed about the type of people i interact with on this forum.
I have never questioned the notes and discoveries of fellow nairalanders here even when i find that they are wrong.
How could enitan2002 conclude that i posted a wrong information on the TV Malawi. You could see the suprise i had too.
Enitan2002 for your information i have 3 dishes installed at home facing 68.5, 36E and 22W and i do my scanning almost every other day. When i informed the forum that 4653x works with dstv was it not true or didn't you see the new channel (Wonderful Tv) on Pas 10?
I will try not to join issues with enitan2002 because i have seen that he is always involved in controversies.

New channels are up now
There is Wonderful Tv on Pas 10
Tv Malawi on Nss 7
And i am also confirming that Nollywood Tv is up now on Eutelsat W4.

I think very soon we will have people here who would will list fta as part of their hobbies.

Enigma:
Some FTA Stations not difficult to receive in Nigeria

Note:

1. Things change frequently in FTA TV and this info will not always be totally correct
2. The info below is very selective; there are other stations not mentioned mostly because they might be more difficult to get e.g. if a big dish is needed (thus FTA stations on satellites like Nilesat, Hispasat etc are not included)
3. The list only mentions FTA stations on the Ku Band (no C Band Stations included)
4. Consult places like www.lyngsat.com, www.flysat.com and www.kingofsat.net for more info.

It is really a good idea.
But the people that will be on the show must be different from the ones we have seen in America or South Africa.
It should be a battle amongst our politians as they lose the dollars they stole in Nigeria to EFCC and other anti-corruption agents.

Strong decoders are the best around here in Nigeria.
Can you belief it costs less than 4500 naira in the north?
It is compatable with about twelve encryption systems ( conax, iderto, seca, mediaguard etc etc).
If you want to buy just go for the 4653x so you will be able to upgrade easily through a usb.

Etv is now scrambled, just use the 6969 stuff for all strong decoders.

You can get updated softwares for strong decoders here:

Romance › Re: Trust In A Relationship: Should It Be 100%? by bodejohn(m): 12:43pm On Dec 29, 2007
There was once a time in the singles' fellowship
of my that church this topic came up as a debate.
It was about love and trust and the one that comes first.
We should approach this with utmost sincerity and
passion as some of what we call relationships today
results in marriage tomorrow. I can't imagine what i or
anybody else should be doing in a relationship which i know
deep within myself that i can not give 100% of my trust.
What goes around comes around, if i am not ready to give
100% i cannot get 100%. As a matter of fact i cannot love
who i cannot trust 100%. It also does not take away the fact
that people change. Should we say because people pass away
in their sleep we will stop sleeping?
if i ever find myself in a relationship where my trust drops to 99%,
i will call the girl and break it up at once.
Not been able to trust our fiancee / spouse is a
sign of the dept of infidelity in our society.
It is just a cover up of our inconsistency to compare
the trust we have to God to that which we display to other people.
They are both not the same. If we cannot trust the people we see,
how much more God that we do not see.
Jesus Christ himself comfirmed this by saying how can you claim
you love a God that you have not seen when you
cannot show same love to people around you.
I have stayed on the two sides i,e being single
and now married and i can say that it is better to get
someone you can trust 100% than jumping from one
person to another in the name of i can't trust 100%.

To add additional LNB to my present location (east) or To mount another dish facing west?? please which one gives me better and many more stations. Thanks men, you are all doing great. I can't wait to hear from you.
That will be easy if you can read all the posts in this thread.
Get a 90cm dish and face the back the back of your mytv africa dish.
You will get Nss 7 on 22w and by adding another lnb beside the one on the dish you will get Intelsat 901.
You can do it alone if you did the mytv installation yourself otherwise do more research or get an installer to do it for you.

Enitan, Bodejohn and Enigma is the premiership channel scrambled? on 22 deg west
I have just installed the Nss 22w, i will check over the weekend and get back to you.

It was a hard time for me trying to install the disqec switch.
I thought the receiver will just accept the two lnbs without any setting or adjustment but i was wrong.
For all the guys trying to install multiple dishes, you will have to change some settings in the satellite installation setup
of your decoder.

This is the hottest news for guys who have fta and will like to add dstv.
You can use strong's 4653x decoder for dstv.
I tried it and it worked.
if i doesn't work i have a patch that will make it work.
I can send it to anyone who needs it.
It is heavier than what this forum can take, i would have attached it.
If you have a strong 4653x you can also do the upgrade.
i have used it for more than a month now.
It will increase the signal strenght/quality of the channels.
i think it is the lastest software patch available now.
Satellite TV Technology › Re: FTA Help - Ask Your FTA Questions Here by bodejohn(op): 9:36am On Dec 20, 2007
Guys,
As i promised here are the details of my installation.
First my mistakes,
If you are searching for a new Ku satellite, do not use anydish short of the 90cm.
It will be quicker and better.
You also need to do more of research and ask questions from the gurus we have in this forum.
Nss 7 @ 22w is just some 60 to 90 degrees from a dstv dish reference.
That is, you just turn to the right from the dstv direction (for azimuth) the eleveation is also very close to that of the dstv.
My hardware dealer messed me up because the diseqec 2.0 connector he sold to me did not not work.
I intend to get a replacement from him so i can watch the the two satellites i have together.
Most of the channels on the Nss 7 are scrambled on seca. I think we need to focus on that too.
I also need details of how i can add another lnd to my Nss 7 so i can pick intelsat 902 @ 27.5w.

As much as i like your answers to the various questions raised i am not so happy with the way you treat the criticisms.
There is the saying that customers are always right. Some of us are afraid of getting on your platforms because of the numerous complains that abound.
As we all know that these things take time we also want to have valve for our money.
My own question is this? Can i get only the smart card and how much will it cost?
