If they were actually moving at 100km/hr, they must be indirectly telling you that you are not suppose to travel at a speed more than that.
Although i am not very sure but i think the speed limit on that highway is actually 100km/hr.
@bodejohn,
I tend to agree with what borderline has said. As FTA enthusiats, we should aim to be primary custodians of signals rather than tapping into terrestial broadcasts from third parties. I have not seen what channels are recievable on that supermax decoder you talked about but I will not be surprised if all their channels are nilesat stations (i.e mbc, fox series, cnn, show sports, etc) being re-transmitted.
The antenna is not SUPERMAX but SUPERMASTER.
It is also not tapping into any third party broadcast. With two 2.4m, one 1.8m and one 90cm dishes there is virtually no channel i want that i can't get.
My post was just to inform the house and anybody who feels like getting it can go ahead especially people who have space constraints in their abodes.
It works like any other indoor antenna that picks local channels on UHF but with added abilities to sniff channels from the dth provider that i described.
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by bodejohn(m): 1:17pm On Nov 06, 2009
@ borderline

Thanks for your word of caution but if you know the level of my involvement in fta and other off forum runs you wouldn't have bothered.
I did not mention any of the dth providers, if you have decoded the description to any specific provider, you are obviously on your own!

@ jayron

With new the trends in technology, it is difficult to say that this is not possible.
Like i said i have not seen it at work and i have not tried it.
But i am talking of people who have tried it and to everybody's surprise, it worked!

@ All

Here are more details. The antenna is called

SUPERMASTER INDOOR HD ANTENNA
AFRICANMASTER AMA 2288.

My CAVEAT still stands.
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by bodejohn(m): 8:29am On Nov 06, 2009
@ All

This is a quick jist!
I learnt that there is a supermaster indoor antenna that picks signal from one dth provider that marries decoder and card.
The antenna searches for the decoder signals when turned on and shows some weird LED light when any married decoder is found in range.
With the antenna locked to the decoder you can watch all the channels the decoder has access to. I learnt the price range is between 4 and 10K.

CAVEAT!!!

There are many fakes of this supermaster antenna in the market! By fake i mean not all of it work the way i have described above.
I have not seen it in operation but i have two trusted friends (One owns one that is working and the other has visited to confirm it is working but ended up buying a fake) who have witnessed it's operation here in Ibadan.

Cheers!!!

@ Mr.Vocc
You question is quite funny for someone who has been following the fta main thread from season 2.
You cannot get Nilesat anywhere in Nigeria with 90cm. Except if you can relocate to Egypt or Morroco smiley
You will need atleast a 1.8m solid pan dish if you are up in the far north or betwen 2.4 to 3m dish if you are down south.
I suggest you go back to season 2 and 3 again to learn more.

How much percentage increase can be gained if it is used?
Can it be up to 10% with the strong x series?

Those channels are not free, you need to pay before you can watch them.
We do not discuss keys/unscrambling of channels on this forum. There are other channels that you can watch legally free of charge.
If you like those channels so much, pay to watch them.

I am sure even God will be surprised we lost.
He gave us two goals when we really never deserved it,
Reduced our opposition to 10 men,
Gave us many scoring chances,
Siasia will have to win 5 trophies before I reckon with him again.

@ Gangsta101
I saw the question you asked me late. I was out of office throughtout last week and hence i had no internet.
I have tried out the dvb-s card with the Mpeg 4 signals of Multi TV. I got all the channels live but my PC was behaving funny.
The video and the audio signals was not matching and it became irritating to me. I guess it must be my RAM (512MB).
I also uploaded the files that worked for me some weeks back. I have also tried it with Winclip and it worked.
You can check between pages 140 - 150 for the link.
You can give it a trial and let me know if you need more support.

@ Enitan 2002
Your mouth no kill you o. You can hardly keep a conversation secret.
I got the 1.8m ground mount and i have the signals although i have plans to adapt my 2.4m neck for it.

It was great watching the 11 point agenda team.
Like president like national football team, very slow in everything.
There were some rumors during Babangida's regime that his lucky was only good for a second position or runners up.
I really wonder what the lucky of this regime is. All the players and even the coaching crew looked confused.
It is really unfortunate that we cannot get anything right in this country, not even ordinary sports.
Only perhaps corruption!!!

I was able to get my dvb-s pci card working for multi tv.
I must confess that the package is the bum!
For easy reference i have uploaded all the files that worked for me into megaupload.
Here is the link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=BUKC18CU. It should still be available for the next 30 days.

Greetings to all who asked about me and most especially the newbies, a little time more you will know how annoying it is
to read through countless posts to find people asking questions that were answer few posts or a page back.

It was a personal disappointment that i couldn't secure one hd box for myself after travelling to and fro the white men's land.
I have been following the discussions and postings and has also embarked on some personal research, not much to share though.

Cheers to all.

@ Nchara and all

I quite agree that it is not only fake documents that we have in Nigeria but the country herself is fake.
We have a fake president, fake senetors, fake governors, fake ministers of politics and God etc etc.

Also as a matter of fact, the european countries that we run to are not better than us afterall
Just that they are more consitent and focused that us. Anytime i travel out of Nigeria, I always wish i go back home.

I know one day things will begin to work in our dear country.

One of the nicest thing to have as an fta enthusiast is a dish motor.
I got one with the help of olofofo and my options are countless.
I am envious of the guys whose big dishes are motorized.
To really enjoy the beauty of fta, one needs to motorise his/her dish.
I will keep the house updated as i follow through the installation of the motor.

@all, have a wonderful weekend
Thanks Sammu,
I have been around, just that my schedule in the office has been nothing short of killing.
I see my baby active like once in three days, she must be thinking that i have gone "scrambled"

I discovered that one could clone a LCD tv with like half of the original price. This is what i did:
I bought a 19inch acer lcd monitor for 29k and a box called LCD TV Capture Card for 7k.
I had the video out of my stb connected to the card and the vga out of the card connected to the lcd monitor.
The result is that i have a 19inch lcd tv for 36k. The price could be less if i got all the components from Lagos.
It takes less power i,e less fuel when on generator and it feels lcd tv.

I can give some more details if it sounds intresting to folks here and not out of the fta lines.
