I'm not sure if it makes any difference, but there is room to add multiple nationalities for each person. I added my kid's US and Nigerian passports and I plan to submit both as well at PPR. They can decide to issue the visa on which ever one they deem fit. Adiahabasi: @slowlybutsurely and vcole. Please did you use your children's American passport? Or hv u gotten them Naija passports? Does it make any difference if one uses d US pali? |

If you can get your supervisor to write it simply as 'To whom it may concern", that would be perfect. socialmisfit: Hello everyone,
Pls who will my reference letter be addressed to?
Do I write the IRCC Canada or Ghana address, and the make the topic "To whom it may concern"? Or I don't need to put the IRCC address at all?
Kindly help please.
Thanks |

So... I was at Alagbon today and successfully got the Police Certificate for my wife and I. It was pretty much straight forward, thanks to the help of an officer I met there.
The whole process took less than or about 30 minutes and wasn't expensive. If you are interested, I can give you the Officer's number for easier processing.
All the best guys! |

You are welcome. If the other certifications were gotten in Canada, you do not need to evaluate them, but if not, you need to. AAOL: Thanks so much boldinc. Please do you mean I dont need evaluation for my credentials except my Nigerian degree?. Appreciate your response |

You seem to have a good profile for a high score which could guarantee ITA as soon as you enter the pool. Yous should be able to claim 2 degrees or more with your ACCA, Canada which should not need an evaluation. But you will need to evaluate your Nigerian degree. Use this link to check your CRS score: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.aspThere are loads of YouTube videos and a few links mentioned here earlier to help study for IELTS. Also, when you register, you will get some links from British Council which was what helped me. So... get going and All the best! AAOL: Hello Guys

It's advisable you have your EOR and WES ECA before you enter the EE pool. Not sure about your question about WES... All the best! dammysanmi: Hi @lumzy, did you get a mail from them or you went directly to their office to check? My EOR request is just 8 weeks now, i'm wondering if it might be ready besides there is no platform for checking processed EOR on their website.
@House, is there any possibility of WES accepting a "in lieu of" document in place of certificate? Unfortunately i might not be able to get my MSc certificate from the school due to lapses on their part which will cost me a lot of points. |

It doesn't... That's why I prefer flying to DC first, the cheap local flight wherever or car rental (preferred option) chloe7: I bought emirates last week to Houston Because Qatar was even more expensive by 40k, I think flying to Houston doesn't come cheap anymore |

Thanks dear. I will do just that... Website under maintenance now till another 10 mins. Will give it a shot right after. dupyshoo: As a lot of people have explained: remove the info from your work history and education history as you will have to provide supporting documents for any information you include under these sections.
I will still use my application as a point of reference for this situation. When I realised after ITA that I was being asked to provide reference letter for my past jobs in Nigeria, I simply removed it from my employment history section. These jobs had no effect as I already have more than 3 year work experience in my current job.
Also, we did not evaluate hubby's MSc as we were able to get ITA without it but we included the details before ITA. When we realised that we were being asked to upload the ECA and certificate, we deleted the details.
Please note that we still included all these information under personal history. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by boldinc(m): 11:20am On Jan 17, 2017 |
Thanks a lot hallly... Makes sense! hallly: Remove your work experience from your profile. You should only state it in your personal history section.
Also, as long as you stated in your profile that you have a degree but did not evaluate it, you still need to upload the degree certificate even though no points were awarded for it because it was not evaluated. |

Hey guys... vcole, dupyshoo... Really wondering tho...
My wife is the principal applicant, yet they require details of my work history and then go ahead to ask for reference letter for each as well. I never thought I would be asked for such, been preparing for wifey's all this while. That's a really major task for me!
Why do they need it tho? It didn't add any score to my crs.
Also, I didn't evaluate my degrees, but they asking me to upload for Education... Do they mean just the IELTS result? |

Travel › Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by boldinc(m): 12:44pm On Jan 16, 2017 |
Well understood... Thanks! dupyshoo: It did not affect me as I have loads of close relatives (Uncles, Aunties and Cousins) in Canada that I did not declare. As I said earlier, I indicated I had relatives before ITA but when I saw the documents required to support the claim, I had to change my answer to "No". Will I now get supporting documents for my over 10 relatives? What if they had even left Canada?
Why did I do so? I believe having relatives in Canada is a "positive" since it will add points to your eligibility score. So, indicating that I don't have any relatives in Canada means that I will lose some eligibility points. As, I am losing points and not adding points to my eligibility score, then it should not be a problem.
Please note that this is just my opinion. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by boldinc(m): 12:17pm On Jan 16, 2017 |
Thanks dear... I was actually referring to dupyshoo's post of not declaring. But I would tho, I can get the details needed, so no issues. vcole: If you have a first degree relative - father, mother, brother, sister, child.....then you should declare. If while filling your EE profile you already indicated that you had a relative (does this question come up? i don't remember), then you should do same with your eAPR |

Thanks vcole... I assume the fee was for each of you and your husband? vcole: Hola. Police certificate can cost anything between 5000-8500 or more depending on your bargaining power. The official price is probably a ridiculous amount but no one knows it. I paid 7500. Yes, you just go to the finger print section of Alagbon and speak to an officer. We waited in the office for maybe 30 mins after our finger prints were taken and the certificate was issued. Max. amount of time you would spend may be an hour or so. Bro, police open on weekends for police report? hmmmm......I doubt that. You only get a proof that you have completed the medicals and you upload this to your profile. Obviously the immigration gets the results directly. I think we got our medicals done on a wednesday and I submitted eAPR on a sunday and got medicals passed on monday. Qlife is the cheapest. I got mine done at the children's and consultant's practice. |

I guess not declaring your relatives in Canada won't pose a threat then... dupyshoo: Yep, got PPR last year April. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by boldinc(m): 12:00pm On Jan 16, 2017 |
Thanks dupyshoo... dupyshoo: Yes, you can get the police certificate same day. The cost depends on your bargaining power. Ideally, it should be free as a friend told me he got his free. Once you get to Alagbon, you will see a lot of staff that will rush to help you. If you use any of them, they will probably charge you more. My friend said he just walked into the office and did it himself. He did that cos he knows his away around the offices as he had done it before.
However, if you plan to use one of those people at the gate, try to bargain between 3k and 6k. It should not be more than that.
You don't need to upload the results. You just need a sheet that shows the list of medical tests that were carried out. The results will be sent to IRCC by the panel physician. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by boldinc(m): 11:12am On Jan 16, 2017 |
Thanks a lot for the info. BlessedFellow01: You can get the police certificate same day. My friend's brother got mine for me but my friend has refused to tell me the cost because he doesn't want a refund. I think a proof of medical is what you need to upload. Results are sent directly to CIC. |
