CrimeWe Sold Blood-stained Handkerchief For N500,000 - Suspected Badoo Member by boman2014(op): 11:59am On Jul 03, 2017
Following recent arrests made by members of the Lagos state police command, a suspected member of the dreaded badoo cult has opened up on the group's antics.

According to a security source who spoke to The Guardian, a cultist revealed that they sell blood-stained handkerchiefs belonging to their victims to highly placed Nigerians.

The security source said:

“We heard they sell one handkerchief containing the blood of theirvictims for N500,000 to highly placed Nigerians. The police must urgently investigate this lead in order to put an end to this menace, so that residents can sleep with two eyes closed in Ikorodu. ”

The activities of the gang who went on a killing spree in the Ikorodu area of Lagos state in recent times, caused the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Department of State Services (DSS), Lagos State Task Force, the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) and other local vigilante groups to unite in raiding the area in search of the killers.

The raid led to the arrest of over 100 suspected members of the cult group.

An OPC member who gave his name as Mr Abiodun Akerejola aka Ojolebua, said:

“The issue of Badoo and other cult activities in Ikorodu and environs should give everyone some concern and not only the police. We do not know the next family or person they may attacked.”

A resident in one of the affected communities identified as Mr. Balogun Moses, said:

“If the raid is maintained on a regular basis, crime rate would be drastically reduced. We commend the effort of all the security agencies and local vigilance groups, who know the terrain. Everyone can have some respite now. For the past eight months, Ikorodu was on the news daily for negative stories.”

Angry residents have also taken to lynching suspected members of the gang, leaving about 3 dead in the Odogunyan area of Ikorodu.

The Lagos state police PRO, Olarinde Famous-Cole, has since made a statement asking residents to stop jungle justice on suspects. He said:

“We can confirm the arrest of 100 suspected members of thedreaded cult group, and they are helping with ongoing investigation into the activities of the gang. Government is on top of the situation and we like to use this medium to caution the people to desist from jungle justice.

“We also like to assure residents that they are free to go about their normal activities without let or hindrance, as the police and other security agencies in the state are poised to make Lagos uncomfortable and hot for criminal elements to perpetrate their nefarious activities.”

Christianity EtcRe: OPINION: Why God Is Unfair by boman2014(op):
Son of God

Jesus called a woman who came to request healing for her child a dog. (Matthew 15:26). He refused to help John the Baptist when Herod arrested him. When he knew his good friend Lazarus was dead, he said he was glad. (John 11:14-15). He kept company with disreputable people. (Matthew 9:11). He took sides with a woman caught in adultery. (John 8:7).

He asked a man who had been sick for 38 years if he would like to be healed. Then he healed only that man and left all the others unhealed. (John 5:6-9). He pronounced woe on the Pharisees, calling them “whitewashed tombstones.” (Matthew 23:27).

He told some Jews the devil is their father. (John 8:44). He denied his own mother and brothers. (Matthew 12:47-50). Clearly, Jesus is not a nice man as men call nice. But this same Jesus is our righteousness.

Jesus says: “Blessed is he who is not offended because of me.” (Matthew 11:6). Blessed is he who is not offended by God’s strange ways. Blessed is he who is not offended by what God chooses to do and what he chooses not to do.

Christianity EtcRe: OPINION: Why God Is Unfair by boman2014(op):
God is unfair

Arguably, God can be palpably unfair. He visits the iniquities of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations. (Exodus 20:5). Jeremiah observes that: “Our fathers sinned and are no more, but we bear their iniquities.” (Lamentations 5:7).

It was David who committed adultery with Bathsheba, but it was his son who died. It was David who sinned, but it was 70,000 Israelites who died. “David said to God, ‘Was it not I who commanded the people to be numbered?

"I am the one who has sinned and done evil indeed; but these sheep, what have they done? Let your hand, I pray, O LORD my God, be against me and my father's house, but not against your people that they should be plagued.’” (1 Chronicles 21:17).

It is Lazarus, the man that Jesus loves, who falls sick and dies. (John 11:3). It is the man that God loves who undergoes persecutions and tribulations. Many, insists the psalmist, are the afflictions of the righteous. (Psalm 34:19). Take a look at how God presents himself in scripture: “I, even I, am he, and there is no God besides me; I kill and I make alive; I wound and I heal; nor is there any who can deliver from my hand.” (Deuteronomy 32:39).

God the Father

What kind of father tells his son to marry a prostitute as God did with Hosea? (Hosea 1:2). What kind of person tells the Levites to carry a sword and kill members of their own family and relations? (Exodus 32:27). What kind of person instructs Isaiah to go around without his trousers for three years? (Isaiah 20:2-4).

What kind of person instructs Saul to attack Amalek and kill all the men, women, children, babies, sheep, camel and donkeys? (1 Samuel 15:3). What kind of person kills off millions of his own children, the Israelites, one by one over forty years in the wilderness? What kind of person forsakes his only begotten son to die a gruesome death on the cross? God; that is who.

Whatever you may call that kind of person, I would have you know that he cannot be a nice person as men regard it. If God were a man, he would not be a nice man at all. God’s concept of goodness is different from that of men.

So what do we really mean when we say glibly: “God is good all the time?” I would have you know that, from the human point of view, God is not good most of the time. I will even go so far as to say if you see a man who has no problems, who always has another testimony of success or enrichment or promotion, it must be because God does not love him. (1 Peter 4:12-14).
Christianity EtcOPINION: Why God Is Unfair by boman2014(op):
Have you not noticed that many people in the bible sought to escape from God? When Peter recognised that Jesus is the Lord, he pleaded that he should depart from him. (Luke 5:8 ). David too wanted to run away from God but did not know exactly how.

Since he could not get directions from any man, he sought one from God himself. He asked God how he could escape from God. (Psalm 139:7-12). In his case, Jonah ran away to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. (Jonah 1:3).

The Prodigal son would also rather live away from his father.
Once he came into his inheritance, he packed his bag and baggage and moved away to a far country. He moved to a place where he could live his own life; a place where he would not have his father breathing down on his neck. He sought accommodation out of the Ark only to be confronted by the Flood. It did not rain: it poured. It poured buckets and buckets of problems.

Strange love

The scriptures say that God is love. But I ask you, what kind of love is God? Let me tell you. God’s love is strange. He is love and at the same time a rock of offense. His ways are not our ways and his thoughts are not our thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8-9).

He secures our welfare through schemes that are often unpalatable to us. He takes delight in disappointing our hopes and in frustrating our plans and expectations of grandeur. He is determined to thwart our own purposes in life.

It is important to appreciate that God’s love is different from man’s love. God’s love is a hard love. (Matthew 25:24). God’s love is not sentimental. Look, for example, at how God’s love was expressed to the chief young ruler who was seeking eternal life:

“Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, ‘One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow me.” (Mark 10:21).

Jesus looked at the man and loved him. But the expression of that love was in telling him to go and sell all that he had and to give them to the poor. The expression of that love was in the bid to impoverish the man. What kind of love is that? The God kind of love. The man clearly had no appreciation for it. How can somebody love you so much and then seemingly wish you so much
harm? He went away and did not come back.

Therein lies a kingdom dynamic that we don’t seem to understand and find difficult to accept. Because God loves us, he gives us a hard time. The Lord himself says: “I continually discipline and punish everyone I love.”(Revelation 3:19).

If God loves you, there are so many liberties he would give to others that would be forbidden to you. Others may be able to get away with all kinds of shenanigans, but not you. It might seem unfair, it might seem discriminatory, but it is actually the expression of the goodness of God in your life.
PoliticsLawmakers Dump Official Vehicle Number Plates For Fear Of Kidnapping by boman2014(op): 7:05am On Jun 24, 2017
Senators, members of the House of Representatives and the state Houses of Assembly have devised various means to keep safe and protect themselves in the wake of rising cases of kidnapping of eminent citizens, including politicians.

Just three weeks ago, a lawmaker from Kano State, Mr. Garba Umar-Durbunde, was kidnapped by gunmen along the Abuja-Kaduna Road, after which he reportedly paid N10m ransom to secure his freedom.

Senator Jonah Jang’s aide was killed by kidnappers last weekend and it was said that the former Plateau State governor was the target.

Investigations by Saturday PUNCH showed that one of the strategies adopted by many federal lawmakers was to lie low to avoid being identified in public and drawing attention to themselves.

It was learnt that many senators and House of Representatives’ members no longer use official number plates on their vehicles in a bid to keep starring eyes in check.

For instance, a member of the House of Representatives, who spoke on condition of anonymity, disclosed that in the past, it was prestigious and fashionable for legislators to use their official number plates but not anymore because of the level of insecurity in the country.

The member asked, “Look around, how many members do you see using their number plates with ‘Rep’ boldly written and displayed?

“Before now, it was fashionable to do so. The number plates could open the way for you because it identified you as a VIP; but not anymore because of security concerns.

“These days, people do not want to be identified as lawmakers. When a member uses the official number plate, you will find out that it will be covered.

“Covering the plates ordinarily means that they are not riding in the vehicles, but the truth is that they are there in them.

“Generally, they want to keep a low profile. Some prefer that they are not noticed at all than for them to be noticed with a retinue of policemen, which draws attention.”

A senator, who also spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of being identified as a target by kidnappers, confirmed that some of his colleagues had also stopped using their official number plates for security reasons, saying “everyone is being careful not to draw attention to themselves because kidnapping is on the increase and you can’t know who is good and who is planning evil.”

The lawmaker representing Oyo South Senatorial District, Senator Adesoji Akanbi, told Saturday PUNCH that inasmuch as he was not keen on going about with his personal security detail, the rising spate of insecurity in the country, especially kidnappings of rich and prominent Nigerians for ransom, had changed his view.

Akanbi said he had stopped going on road trips except when it is unavoidable, adding that he was also considering getting more security attachment.

He said, “I believe that it is the duty of the government to protect lives and properties. Either as a lawmaker or not, the government owes you that duty. But being a lawmaker exposes you to such people (criminals) more and I believe that the onus is on all of us (lawmakers) to take our security seriously.

“Someone like me did not believe in going around with persons for security but right now, I have to start thinking about it. I didn’t believe that there was the need to move about with security detail, the reason being that I am loved in my constituency and connected with them.

“But it is getting beyond that now and we now have to take our security seriously. The law enforcement agencies must also support us lawmakers.”

When asked if he had made adjustments to his movements, especially on the roads, Akanbi replied, “Of course, road travels have disappeared on my radar especially now that the airports are operating. It is now suicidal to go on road trips unless something urgent happens and there are no flights.”

Also, Senator Danjuma La’ah (Peoples Democratic Party, Kaduna South), expressed his fears over the spate of robberies and kidnappings in the country. He specifically identified the Abuja-Kaduna Road as becoming a national embarrassment.

La’ah, who accused security agencies of failing to protect lives and properties, therefore, called for the establishment of vigilante groups.

He said, “Certainly, I am jittery. As a matter of fact, I am not safe, not to mention the fact that there are other people too. If I could have security at my own end, all other persons should have security as well. The security in my constituency is not enough. The policemen and soldiers (deployed in the area) are not doing well, I must confess.

“It is a difficult situation and we are trying to find a solution to it; that is why we are calling for the creation of vigilante groups. If we continue to rely on policemen and soldiers; honestly, at the end of the day, somebody will come and pick us up from our homes, butcher us and kill our families. The earlier we find a solution to it, the better.”

When asked if he still took the Abuja-Kaduna Road, which leads to his constituency, but where several armed robbery and kidnapping incidents had been recorded, La’ah said, “In fact, Kaduna-Abuja Road is a very terrible road, so much that if the Federal Government does not live to its expectation (on the security of its users), it will be a disgrace.”

The senator expressed fear that the security situation might get to the point where foreign diplomats would be kidnapped and it would lead to diplomatic rows between Nigeria and foreign allies.

Another senator from the South-West, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said she had also limited her movements on Nigerian roads.

She added that as part of her tactics to reduce her road trips, she designed her schedule such that she could combine multiple activities in one trip.

She said, “It is very clear that the government is not capable or proactive enough to prevent kidnappings. Before relatives of a kidnapped victim get the ransom to pay and even after payment, the victim would have suffered. Some people could die in the process.

“Now, we have to reduce visits; we now have to achieve more things in one trip so that one is not on the road every time. If you are on the road, so many things you did not envisage could happen. So, one has to be very careful.”

Senator Mao Ohuabunwa (PDP, Abia North), said he now put more emphasis on “where,” “when” and “how” in his movements, adding that he was being more careful on how he exposed himself to the public.

Ohuabunwa said, “Definitely, one has to protect himself. One is now more cautious where one goes, how one moves and at what time. It is not just about the security apparatus or law enforcement agents or gun wielding security men; one must also apply some measures to help oneself. These include reducing road trips and (public) exposure.”

The lawmaker identified the alleged misconception about the budget of the National Assembly as one of the reasons why criminals were after lawmakers.

He said, “Legislators are the most vulnerable (people) because they have no proper security (model) compared to those in the executive.

“Also, they are the closest to the people, which makes them very vulnerable to kidnapping. It is important that we look at this issue seriously and ensure that adequate security is provided for the legislature.

“Also, there is this wrong impression about the legislature and its budget. When people hear about the budget figure, they simply divide it by 469 (360 members in the House of Representatives and 109 members in the Senate), believing that a lawmaker goes about with huge amounts of money. So everybody wants to get their own bit of the pie directly or indirectly. Our security calls for serious attention.”

Further investigations by Saturday PUNCH indicated that lawmakers from the South-East and South-South have also beefed up security around themselves.

A lawmaker from a state in the South-South, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said, “There was a time when kidnapping was an everyday problem in the South-East and South-South states.

“We members from the zones always had additional armed personnel for protection and the situation remains the same till today. We always travel home well guarded.”

The lawmaker confided in Saturday PUNCH that he was in his village without his police orderly to avoid attracting undue attention to himself.

“I am in my village right now, but do you know that people are not aware that I am at home?

“My orderly is in Abuja. I am comfortable this way. If they sight him, they will start sniffing around, asking whether I am at home,” the member of the House of Representatives added.

When contacted, the Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Mr. Abdulrazak Namdas, said on some occasions, members might need the services of extra policemen or other security personnel.

He said, “For example, if a member has a constituency project to inaugurate or he has some other functions, he may ask for additional security personnel.

“This is important because we are in a political environment. Some people may decide to sponsor some persons to come and disrupt the programme to score political points.

“So, to avoid that kind of scenario, you may request for additional hands.”

Also, Mr. Falai Olotu of the Akoko North-East Constituency, Ondo State, said one of the means he had devised to protect himself was to dress modestly and not reveal himself as a lawmaker whenever he is going to his constituency or travelling to his hometown.

“Anytime I want to go to my constituency, I don’t go with flashy cars; I don’t wear expensive clothes that will reveal my identity. So, if I am passing, you will never know who I am and I don’t take police escort to my constituency.’’

Phones2 EASY WAYS To Transfer Airtime/credit On MTN! by boman2014(op): 3:49pm On Jun 21, 2017
Do you know how to transfer airtime on MTN? If you have just joined MTN or have simply forgotten its main codes, but want to share airtime on MTN, keep reading the article and see how to do it. Two easy methods will be shown to you.

Method 1
Main steps how to transfer Airtime on MTN are the following:
• Default PIN changing

Your first step should include changing the Default PIN. At the beginning, every number has standard PIN Code, which is - 0000. If you haven’t changed it yet, then read this part of our guide very carefully, if yes, then skip this paragraph.

You need to send an SMS message to 777 with the following text: Your Default PIN + New PIN Code + Repeat New PIN Code (For instance, your text message should contain such items: 0000 (Default Pin) 8900 (New Pin) 8900). In this case, 8900 will be your new PIN Code for MTN airtime transfer. Your Pin may contain any numbers.

• MTN transfer message
You will need to send one more SMS message, like this: TRANSFER + Number of your Recipient + Amount of money which you want to transfer + PIN code

- This message is to be sent to the same short telephone number – 777.
- MTN airtime transfer code is always the same, bear in mind, and it is 777.

- Let’s see an example of such SMS: Transfer 123456789 (Recipient number) 1000 (Amount) 8900 (Pin).
- After the completion of this part, you will get SMS with the request for confirmation, that is, if you really want to approve the MTN transfer.
- You will have to send SMS with 'YES' to the same number. If everything is done properly, you will receive an approval notification with your remaining account balance, how much money you transferred, and also the number of a person who received the MTN airtime transfer.

- If you don’t trust the SMS sending mode, then you may opt for USSD command.
- This way, you have to do is perform the following actions: DIAL + *600* + Number of the person who is to receive the airtime + Amount + PIN# + pressing OK.
An example of the message: dial*600*08067654333*1000*8900 – OK.

PoliticsUS Finally Reacts To Agitations For Biafra by boman2014(op): 4:04pm On Jun 20, 2017
The United States of America has spoken about Nigeria as the
latter continues to battle with agitations from the south-eastern
part of the country for secession.

According to the US ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Stuart Symington,
the foreign country and one of the world powers would continue
to support Nigeria’s unity.

Symington said his country will continue to work towards the
promotion of unity in Nigeria.

He described Nigeria as the strength of the world’s most populous
black nation.

Vanguard reported that the ambassador made this known when he
led top officials of the embassy on a working visit to the office of
the governor of Oyo state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, in Ibadan.

The envoy said that the US recognizes the strategic importance of
Nigeria in Africa, adding that his visit was in the furtherance of
his country’s mission to explore new frontiers of partnership for
development with African countries.

This is why, he said, he was touring every part of the Nigeria.

He urged the government of Ajimobi to work with the US towards
setting a new pace in socio-economic development.

“This visit is not just a courtesy call; It is in continuation of

PoliticsGEJ Lost In 2015 Because He Sacked Justice Salami - Umar Ardo by boman2014(op): 12:46pm On Jun 19, 2017
Dr. Umar Ardo, a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, has stated that the moment former president Goodluck Jonathan removed Justice Salami as president of the Appeal Court, he lost the 2015 election.

The former special assistant to ex-vice president Atiku Abubakar said
that singular action paved the way for the merger between Bola Tinubu’s ACN and Buhari’s CPC.

In an interview with Daily Sun, Ardo claimed that a secret alliance between Jonathan’s PDP and Tinubu’s ACN was end when the judge was sacked.

He stated: “Jonathan lost the election from that Sunday he removed
Justice Salami as president of Court of Appeal.

“Because that act effectively ended the secret alliance between
Jonathan’s PDP and Tinubu’s ACN.

“More importantly, it handed over Tinubu’s ACN to Buhari’s CPC for
the APC merger.

“The reason is, of the then six ACN controlled states, only Lagos was
by INEC’s pronouncement; the rest was by tribunals’ pronouncements
headed by Justice Salami as President, Court of Appeal.

“So Salami’s brazen removal obviously was a serious affront to the
ACN.

“The causal causation is this - without CPC going to tribunal, Salami
wouldn’t have been removed; without Salami’s removal, ACN would
not have been thrown in the arms of Buhari, without which there
would be no merger, and without which incumbent wouldn’t have been
defeated.”

CrimeNigerian Hackers Steal $3billion Worldwide - FBI by boman2014(op): 10:41am On Jun 19, 2017
Nigerian hackers and cyber criminals are being accused of masterminding a grand theft of information and money running into billions of dollars, worldwide. According to experts, the Nigerians are able to carry out the heist by sending phishing emails to commercial organizations and industrial enterprises, which they later steal dry.

The FBI estimates that these phishing attacks have cost companies over $3 billion. The number of affected companies exceeds 22,143. Kaspersky Labs, an internet security company said it has found over 500 companies that are under attack in at least 50 countries. Those under attack are mostly industrial enterprises and large transportation and logistics corporations, based in Germany, UAE, Russia and India.

In a blog post, Kaspersky said the cyber-criminals managed to steal technical drawings, floor plans and diagrams showing the structure of electrical and information networks. Researchers said that all indications are that these were business email compromise (BEC) attacks that have come to be associated with Nigerian cyber-criminals. Emails received by victims looked authentic enough to fool people.

Some had attachments with names such as “Energy & Industrial Solutions W.L.L_pdf”, “Woodeck Specifications best Prices Quote.uue” and “Saudi Aramco Quotation Request for October 2016”. These are well crafted emails that look legitimate and are crafted to make the victim open the malicious attachment. The emails ask the recipients to check information as soon as possible, clarify product pricing or receive goods specified in the delivery note attached. The malicious attachments contain RTF files with an exploit for the CVE-2015-1641 vulnerability. They may also contain archives of different formats containing malicious executable files or macros and OLE objects designed to download malicious executable files.

Kaspersky discovered that the malicious files are intended to steal confidential data and install stealthy remote administration tools on infected systems. Using Whois services, Kaspersky found that the domains used to host the malware were registered to residents of Nigeria. Once in, the hackers compromise a legitimate email and change the banking account details. The malware used in these attacks belonged to families that are popular among cyber-criminals, such as ZeuS, Pony/FareIT, LokiBot, Luminosity RAT, NetWire RAT, HawkEye, ISR Stealer and iSpy keylogger. ”The phishers selected a toolset that included the functionality they needed, choosing from malware available on cyber-criminal forums.

At the same time, the malware was packed using VB and .NET packers – a distinct feature of this campaign. To evade detection by security tools, the malicious files were regularly repacked using new modifications of the same packers,” said the researchers. At least eight different Trojan-Spy and Backdoor families were used in the attacks.

Further research found that the domain names of some of the malware command-and-control servers used by the attackers mimicked domain names used by industrial companies – “more proof that the attacks were primarily targeting industrial companies,” said researchers. They added that most domains used for malware C&C servers were registered to residents of Nigeria. Researchers warned that it would be very dangerous if, because of an infection, cyber-criminals were able to gain access to computers that are part of an industrial control system (ICS).

“In such cases, they can gain remote access to the ICS and unauthorised control over industrial processes,” said researchers. Owen Connolly, vice president services (EMEA) at IOActive, told SC Media UK that this attack is not actually targeting industrial control systems or operational technology. “It’s just targeting users that work for large companies. The fact that those companies may also have OT systems could just be coincidence, not correlation,” he said. Mark James, security specialist at ESET, told SC Media UK that scammers are opportunistic.

They understand they need to adapt and will change their tactics to get the best result. “With the 419 scams being so synonymous with the public, the scope for business users being victims is massive. We also need to consider the scope for larger, single successful attacks reaping the benefits much quicker than the smaller, and often much harder, sells through the public,” he said.

Javvad Malik, security advocate at AlienVault, told SC that organisations dealing with industrial control systems may not be as savvy to scams as financial services, so it could be that the success rate of targeted emails is higher. “Allowing criminals to make quick money. On the other hand, it could allow criminals to implant malware on industrial control systems, or at least on systems that support the ICS. This can then be allowed for further nefarious purposes such as deploying ransomware – or selling on the access to other criminals or ever nation states,” he said.
