Ever wondered what Jesus really look like? An answer may have emerged on popularmechanics.com from an exciting new field of science “forensic anthropology”. This follows a discovery from British scientists, assisted by Israeli archeologists, on what they believe is the most accurate image of the most famous face in human history. While this field of science, “forensic anthropology” is usually used to solve crimes, Richard Neave, a medical artist retired from the University of Manchester in England, realized it also could shed light on the appearance of Jesus. British scientists discovered the “real” face of Jesus This however wouldn’t be Neave first discovery as he had ventured in controversial areas before. Over the past two decades, he had reconstructed dozens of famous faces, including Philip II of Macedonia, the father of Alexander the Great, and King Midas of Phrygia. In order to create the accurate portrait of Jesus, Neave’s and his research team first step was to acquire skulls from near Jerusalem, the region where Jesus lived and preached. With three well-preserved specimens from the time of Jesus in hand, Neave used computerized tomography to create X-ray “slices” of the skulls, thus revealing minute details about each one’s structure. Special computer programs then evaluated reams of information about known measurements of the thickness of soft tissue at key areas on human faces. This made it possible to re-create the muscles and skin overlying a representative Semite skull. https://www.naij.com/664840-photo-real-face-jesus-uncovered.html?_e_pi_=7%2CPAGE_ID10%2C8771107472 Read how Neave’s discovered the portrait of Jesus here http://www.popularmechanics.com/science/health/a234/1282186/ lalasticlala OAM4J |

Some youths have taken to the streets of Abuja, Nigeria’s federal capital, to lend their support to President Muhammadu Buhari in his fight against corruption. The pictures obtained by Naij.com showed the youths carrying different banners, where they showed their displeasure with some corrupt Nigerians. Their grouse, Naij.com gathered, is not unconnected to the recent revelations made by former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki and founder of DAAR Communications, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, over the N2billion arms deal scandal. The angry youths also made coffins, where they buried corruption and bid it goodbye. The #BringBackOurGirls agitators were also present at the venue of the protest and expressed their displeasure over the continued detention of the secondary school girls who were kidnapped over a year ago in Borno state. The media office of Ekweremadu issued a statement saying that the appeal court judgment was announced on December 7, Monday. Reacting to the court’s decision, Ekweremadu, who is deputy president of the Senate, expressed happiness with the judgement. He said he was never disconcerted as the mandate handed to him by his people was “ free, fair, credible, resounding, and therefore incontrovertible.” The legislator, who said he did not resent his rival for trying his luck at the tribunal, insisted that his main concern was to give quality representation to his constituents and the nation in general. He said: “ This is the beauty of democracy. My challenger exercised his democratic right. It is also democratic and reassuring that the appellate court has upheld the return made by the lower tribunal on my election. “I thank my constituents and the good people of Enugu State for their prayers, goodwill, and immense faith they have continued to repose in me. “Let me also reassure them that I will never let them down. I will continue to work for the common good and to justify every bit of confidence reposed in me.” Ekweremadu scored 120,075 votes to re-emerge senator for Enugu West Senatorial District in the 2015 general polls. Meanwhile, his closest challenger of the All Progressive Congress Louisa Achieze polled 2,314 had openly accepted the result and congratulated Ekweremadu. https://www.naij.com/660446-court-delivers-judgment-ekweremadus-election.html lalasticlala |
A 46-year-old man, Akeem Okuniyi, was on Tuesday charged before a Surulere Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State for allegedly assaulting his landlord, Alhaji Musbau Akani. The accused, who lives at No. 18, Obanta St., Orile Iganmu , Lagos, is facing a charge of unlawful assault. Okuniyi, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge. https://cdn2.vanguardngr.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/300x232xStab-300x232.gif.pagespeed.ic.9EQUuLxBaY.png The prosecutor, Insp. Gabriel Ekundayo, told the court that the accused committed the offence at No. 18, Obanta St., Orile Iganmu, at about noon on Nov. 27. He said the complainant, Musbau Akani, brought the accused to the court after he had gone to ask for his rent . “But an argument ensued between the duo during which the accused assaulted him by breaking a bottle and stabbed his landlord on his head and right hand; which caused him a bodily harm.” The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 171 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. Section 171 stipulates that any person who unlawfully assaults another and thereby does him harm is guilty of felony and is liable to imprisonment for three years. The Chief Magistrate, Mrs M.I Dan-Oni, ruling on the bail application of the accused, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum. The magistrate said that the surety should provide evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government and his address must be verified by the court prosecutor. The case was adjourned to Dec. 14 for further hearing. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/12/tenant-stabs-landlord-with-broken-bottle-over-house-rent/ lalasticlala |
Honourable Friday Osanebi, the deputy speaker of the Delta state House of Assembly has reiterated that he did not collect any money meant for Ndokwa youths from the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) as alleged by a socio-political group, Coalition of Ndokwa Youth Leaders. Friday Osanebi The group said that the lawmaker who represents the people of Ndokwa East state constituency had since 2011 been collecting security money of N20 million monthly totalling N1.4 billion, meant for Ndokwa youths from the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) without remitting it to the youths. Speaking with Naij.com through a telephone conversation, the chief press secretary to the deputy speaker, Michael Oyibosochukwu Nwabueze, said that the allegation by the group leader, Alex Agha, was not only libellous but also frivolous, stressing that the lawmaker did not collect any dime meant for the youths. He said that all the money meant for youth security in the last administration was received and managed by the- then commissioner for Youth Development, Ebifa Ijomah. On the reason for the agitation for a recall of Osanebi, the press scribe said that because those who make up what he called the “guerrilla group” are not on ground to know what is going on, they are bent on hijacking what is meant for the youth development. He noted that the agitation had resulted from the moment Osanebi had said that it would no longer be business as usual and that those who claim to be national youth leaders of Ndokwa should subject themselves to an electoral process and authorization of their community/ clan youth leaders. Nwabueze added that a certain youth leader of Ndokwa community where the deputy speaker represents, Comrade Tony Ndanenu, had publicly said that he collected the money for few months, a revelation which Agha (the group leader) also corroborated. Also speaking on a separate conversation, Agha said that although, Comrade Ndanenu had “claimed” that he only collected for just three months amounting to N60million, but that the trio of Osanebi, Ndanenu and Ijomah will all have to account for the money when the time comes. On his part, Comrade Ndanenu who was initially reluctant to speak on the issue said that Alex was not sure of his facts, stressing that he was not well briefed about the issues surrounding the money. Meanwhile, James Ibori, the former Delta state governor, has replied to the ex-boss of Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, over his claim that the ex-governor bribed him with $15m to stop the investigation into his activities. https://www.naij.com/660161-deputy-speaker-denies-diversion-n1-4b-desopadec-money.html?_e_pi_=7%2CPAGE_ID10%2C1566406174 |
