A source who on an anonymous ground disclosed that, some
of Korede Bello’s lecturers have threatened to resign if the
singer is allowed to write his exams because he has not met
up with 70% of his class attendance for the semester.


He further added that the one of his lecturers in class on
Wednesday, January 6, disclosed that he will resign if Korede
Bello is allowed to sit for his exams later this year because he
has not been attending lectures due to his busy schedule.


Confirming the report Naij.com, spoke with Korede Bello’s
manager Casper but after exchanging pleasantries and been
asked about the allegation against the music star, he dropped
the call. All further attempts to reach him proved abortive.

Just few weeks to his matriculation, Korede won ‘The Song of
the Year’ award at the 4th Annual Golden Icons Academy

Nollywood actor Harry Anyanwu who was savagely attacked
on Friday, December 11, 2015 is responding positively to
treatments.

Anyanwu was a victim of an attack in Enugu back in
December. He was attacked by a group of thugs who attacked
him with an axe as he returned from a movie location.

Upon being assaulted by the suspected cultists, he was
immediately rushed to the national orthopedic hospital in
Enugu.

He has since bounced back following medical treatments and
support from close friends and family.

A few actors including Patience Ozokwor, Ejike Asiegbu and
Chiwetalu Agu have shown solidarity by visiting him at the
hospital.

Dressed in red, black and yellow customized satin clothes, the
trio comprising of young men in their early twenties carry out

old group started after they completed their secondary school
education in the northern part of Nigeria.

In an interview with Mirror UK, Fulvia revealed he has spent £52,000 on plastic surgery, over 150 lip and cheekbone fillers, four breast implants, and two rounds of liposuction just to enhance her looks. The 56-year-old said he noticed as a young boy he was trapped in another man’s body at the age of 15. He could not however change his sex then from a male to a female because of the religious nature of his parents, especially his dad.

Amidst tears and outcry, the Lagos state government carried out a major demolition on the Owonifari part of the Oshodi market, today, Wednesday, January 6.



The demolition was supervised by security operatives and while the exercise ended before midday, evacuation continues. It was reported that shop owners who are largely Igbo people from the eastern part of the country had been issued with a notice from the state government asking them to leave. This was however denied by several shop owners who spoke with Naij.com.

A shop owner who spoke on the condition of anonymity to Naij.com said it was painful looking at the rubbles that used to
be his investment. Sniffing back tears, he said:

“I have been doing business in Oshodi for the past ten years and I invested all my money and time in investing in it. I just
returned from the Christmas holiday when I was told my shop was being demolished. I had little time to pack my things. My
life is ruined”



Another shop owner who simply identified himself as Chibuzor spoke via phone with naij.com. he said he was still in the east
where he had gone to spend the holiday and said another shop owner told him the unfortunate news.


“I don’t think I will return to Lagos as everything I own is gone,” he lamented.


Another trader who spoke anonymously said it was shameful that they were not given enough time to evacuate. He claimed
the matter was still on-going and people were caught by surprise when bulldozers were brought in to clear the market.


The claim that goods and valuables were still in the shops before they were demolished seems true as members of the demolition team were seen putting aside appliances and gadgets while evacuation continued

Senator Babafemi Ojudu is a journalist and lawmaker born in
Ado-Ekiti on March 27,1961. He has just been appointed the
special adviser to President Buhari, he will be handling
political matters for Nigeria’s leader.


Beyond the fact that this journalist was born in Ekiti state, there
are other very important details regarding his personality that
tells better why he has been chosen for the vital role in this
current dispensation.
Here are five very pertinent that Nigerians must know of
Buhari’s new adviser on political matters.

Erudite Scholar
If there is any qualify that would be befitting for Ojudu, then it
will be the term erudite scholar, as he showed great scholarly
promise even from his youth.

It is on record that in 1976, Ojudu won a scholarship jointly
sponsored by activist lawyer Gani Fawehinmi and Jùjú
musician King Sunny Adé for indigent students of Ekiti state.
He studied English at the University of Ife, Ile- Ife and after
graduating in 1984, he went on to the University of Lagos
where in 1986, he obtained his master’s degree in political
science.


Dauntless Journalist
After his journalistic exploits in Ife and Unilag, Ojudu started
writing for African Concord magazine. He started as a staff
writer and moved up to assistant www. However, in 1992,
Ojudu resigned in protest of a request by MKO Abiola, the
publisher, to apologise to the then President Ibrahim
Babangida.
He refused to apologise over a piece critical of the military
regime. In 1993, he and other former workers at the African
Concord established The News magazine, with Ojudu as its
first managing www.

Ojudu was arrested, tortured and detained several times during
the Sani Abacha regime (1993–1998).

He was arrested and detained for three days at the notorious
Shagisha prison in the outskirts of Lagos on August 11, 1996.
His detention was due to an article in The News about the the
oil minister, Dan Etete. The article alleged that Etete was giving
government contracts on behalf of the Nigerian state oil
company to his family and friends.

He was arrested on 17 November 1997 after returning from a
conference in Kenya. In July 1998 (after the death of Abacha)
it was reported that he was suffering from typhoid fever and
jaundice, both life-threatening, caused by the unsanitary
conditions in which he was detained and denial of access to
medication


Man of the people
Ojudu is loved by the Ekiti people, and that fact was made
evident when he formally declared that he would run for the
Senate in August 2010. He left his post as Group Managing
Editor of Independent Communications Network to run for
office.

On January 10, 2011, the ACN primaries for a candidate in the
Ekiti central senatorial seat, were held in three of the five local
government areas (LGAs) that make up the senatorial district.
Ojudu won in all three areas.

The primaries for the other two LGAs were rescheduled, but
eventually did not hold. Thus, the ACN submitted Ojudu’s name
to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as
their candidate for Ekiti central.


Man of integrity
Events in the political landscape of Ekiti took a sad turn for
Ojudu, when on March 17, 2011, a Federal High Court in Abuja
issued a judgment, recognizing the incumbent Senator Festus
Bode-Ola as the ACN candidate for Ekiti Central.

Following the High court’s verdict, the then chairman of Ekiti

On March 31, 2011, the Federal High Court in Abuja set aside
its 17 March judgment.


Fortunately, in the April 2011 election for the Ekiti central
senatorial seat, Ojudu polled 67,747 running on the ACN
platform, while the Labour Party (LP) candidate and former
Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose received 29,773 votes.
INEC report also reveals that Kayode Alufa of the People’s
Democratic Party (PDP) received 29,488 votes, thereby
affirming Ojudu’s position as the Senator for the district.

known of President Buhari’s newly appointed special adviser

There was pandemonium at Fagba in Ifako-Ijaye local
government area of Lagos state this morning after a truck
driver forgot himself and ran into a railway track with an
incoming train on motion.


The tragedy that would have happened was miraculously
averted as the train driver was vigilant enough to sense that
the truck could not go through before the locomotive got there.

The driver quickly applied his brake and the train somehow
managed to stop before running over the truck.

The incident sent shivers into the spine of commuters and
other road users who had already started scampering for
safety.

arrested.

The British High Commissioner to Nigeria has spoken out
about the Ibori case and when his stolen loot could be
returned to Nigeria.


British High Commissioner Paul Arkwright has spoken in detail
about the ongoing corruption case involving the former
governor of Delta state James Ibori.

Ibori pled guilty to ten counts of money laundering and
conspiracy to commit fraud in February 2012 and was
sentenced to 13 years in jail.

of property seized, including a N648 billion mansion in

In an interview with Punch, Arkwright said that the British
government remains in the possession of Ibori’s stolen loot.
“The UK has ensured that assets seized, confiscated or
forfeited that fall within Article 57 United Nations Convention
Against Corruption 2005 are returned to the country from
which they were stolen. We are working with the Nigerian
authorities to deliver an effective mechanism for the return of
stolen funds and assets from Nigeria.


“None of the money from Ibori’s confiscation has as yet been
returned; his confiscation hearing is scheduled to take place
later in 2016. Assets have been forfeited and confiscated from
linked trials and we are, through the Home Office, working on
the modality of their return, he said.


“The UK government does not aid corruption in Nigeria or
elsewhere. The arrest and prosecution of James Ibori in a UK
court demonstrates our commitment to this agenda.”

Arkwright also refused to say whether the British government
will accede to President Muhammadu Buhari’s request for the
extradition of former petroleum minister Diezani Alison-
Madeuke.

Alidon-Madeuke remains embroiled in a corruption scandal
after being arrested by the British authorities on October 2,
2015.

“It is a matter of public record that £27,000 was seized from
Diezani Allison-Madueke at Westminster Magistrates Court
along with smaller sums from two other individuals, but we are
not providing any further detail at this time and it should not
be inferred that this relates to any previous statements made
by the UK National Crime Agency,” Arkwright said.
