arsenal1:It is bad market. BDCs in the past were focus on laundering money and a major problem in dollarizing our economy. That was why the CBN requested that all BDCs recapitalized to weed out the unserious ones. Secondly, the CBN reduced the amount being sold to BDCs and instructed Banks not to sell directly to BDCs. In just a few days of Banks voluntarily not accepting dollars/foreign currencies, the naira has appreciated in the parallel market. I bet you, there would further appreciation because the dollar has been rendered virtually useless in Nigeria, except BDCs operating in Nigeria would start selling to neighboring African countries. The CBN must refocus its strategies on cashless policy. Our dependency on cash is huge. We must embrace wire transfers/cards and online payments for business transactions |
NgeneUkwenu:Actually if you read the directive you will observed that it was initiated by banks and not the CBN. The CBN only welcomed it since banks, on their own, stop receiving foreign currency deposits. |
YerYer:Well the scarcity of dollars is what has made it appreciated to 230 per naira. The official rate is 190 per naira. Now that there will be excess dollars in the system, the naira will strengthen against the dollar in the parallel market (black market) Bad market for BDCs and Mallams |
mavinc4u:Foreigners from other country do not utilize cash so much like Nigerians. We just love our cash |
atlwireles:I have concerns too. I think the CBN needs to educate the public. In a view of curbing money laundering, this directive is a welcome development, but my concern is for legitimate businesses. This also means if you travel and bring back dollars, no need keeping them or spending it here because it is useless |
Talibanis:I am acquiring a 4.4m and im told i won't get sky uk. The pictures are very sharp |
Talibanis:How about Canal+? |
Talabanis it seems you can get sky italia with 3.4m dish |
You are a good sales person. Your style is quite different from others, rather than upload the dish pics, you uploaded the outputs and likewise reduce the cost of the dish. If I had not made arrangement for my dish, I would be giving your post some serious consideration. You can do more by uploading more outputs, including sports channels. I am certain your dish would leave you soon. |
Premium times you guys are doing a good job |
1toRtoiSe1:Akwa still remains one of the most disorganized state capital in Nigeria. In short, with the exception of Enugu, all the state capitals in the south-east are disorganized and poorly planned. This is as a result of myopic leaders in the south-east. The only glimpse of hope is obiano. The rest are stooges |
Happiness87:Then what went wrong? Why were the arms not given to the military? Why were innocent lives that could have been saved slaughtered? We need to understand what went wrong. We cannot continue our lives like this with little regards for humanity. |
Right thinking set of people. This should be pursue to closure. Former president Jonathan must respond accordingly why the soldiers were poorly equipped. Badeh must also be brought to an enquiry for further interrogation. Innocents lives were lost whilst some wicked leaders were playing politics with people lives |
A 1920 report. I believe the experience gained by PMB as a former dictator is useful |
This is nothing but pure stupidity that requires serious medication. The appointment of any individual does not profit or benefit his tribe, village, ethnic group or state of origin. It only benefits him, his family and friends, who also happen to be from other tribes. Can we stop this madness and rather criticize the president on serious matters |
acidtalk:Is he not doing that already - there is regular power supply in all part of the country. Funny enough, it is still the same 4,000MW that is being generated. |
Truly1:I agree with you |
I do not support this due to the last experience with GEJ. It must be thoroughly confirmed that they are truly Boko haram members. Though it is obvious that Boko haram do not have the enough fighting power, we should be cautious to deal with the deadly radical sect |
Buhari must constitute an economic team. We cannot wait because this is very important. An economic team must not be business moguls or politician, infact I don't like the idea of those two groups as they act selfishly. The team must be economic scholars and academics who have demonstrated competence and have good ideas to move this country forward |
NLC just waking up from its slumber. If this civil organization was patriotic and sincere with its course, the level of corruption we would have not seen this level of corruption in our country. Rather than go on strike over increment of fuel prices, this organization should have been requesting for good governance, transparency and accountability. Where all these are not obtainable, then strike action should take place |
El-rufai, I also visit port harcourt frequently and I don't see any transformation. Let's just be honest, despite the fact we all wanted PDP out of power |
Where is the whistle blowers Act promised by Buhari. This man's bravery should not go down the drain. He needs to be protected. I could read fear and the urgency to disclose quickly from his letter. Jimoh Ibrahim must be brought back to answer this petition. If he is also sick, both him and his doctor should be given a first flight ticket to Nigeria |
These men just don't stop amazing me. Is he not up to 70? |
He was sincere about his visit. Cut him some slack. Ain't we all fans of European clubs? |
This is a very painful news to read. I rushed with excitement and no names were released. Total trash. Poor journalism |
Amaechi's god must be wonderful. |
Why two (2) consulates? That means two (2) ambassadors - Come PMB what do you mean? |
odilibe:Well, I think improvement can be made if clients can channel positive criticism to the local manufacturers. We must learn to encourage our own and reduce our dependency on foreign products. See the effect it has on our naira. In terms of focal length, a good physician/engineer can easily get this right and instruct the local fabricator on what to do. In terms of material, pan dish, this is the easiest of all. A good machine can sort it out. Emma, with your contribution on this thread, by now you should be able to produce high-quality dish. I know you can. My other concern is actually making the dish smaller rather than recommending bigger dish. I know this is achievable, it only requires deep thinking. |
cremedelacreme:Do your maths - 97 + 5 = 102 |
This is a shame. I think the Police needs reform. I understand that at the moment, the country is in dire need of funds, especially stolen funds. Arase should meet with the president and offer plans to self-finance the police on some projects, whilst the government continue to pay their salaries. The police can start up a debt recovery service, but the problem is the corruption that will be perpetrated. However, these funds can be used to finance projects like barracks, relief funds e.t.c |
Wow... something must be wrong there. That is a key staff which may hamper potential earnings. If the CFO is resigning, then something is wrong with the strategic implementation plan of the Board of Directors. |
Chiaka:I just pray. |
