Scholar8200:A wise observation. If he is after taxes, he should actually be going after the employees of the Banks for their PAYE. I understand they refuse the grant him a loan and he told civil servants in Ekiti to withdraw their funds from the banks that Ekiti state government will not pay salaries into those accounts. Now he is closing the banks for tax evasion. The question is what kind of tax evasion? He should have written to the Bank if there were any dues pending. |
I know it will come to this. Check my timelines. I have been consistent with my predictions about Fashola. He was a mouth making governor who pays the media to sing his praises. He never achieved much in Lagos. He was praised for futuristic and abandoned projects. Thank God Nigerians are now seeing him for who he is - a liar and a fraudster. Now I wonder why Buhari appointed a lawyer, with no expertise in mundane engineering, talk more of electrical engineering as minister of power and Nigerians are excited hoping to get constant power supply. As long as Fashola is there, Nigerians should go and start making financing decisions on how to change or procure new power generators. |
Is Ambode taking the same route as Fashola. The "we will do" policy speech without any implementation. If we request for the vehicles, you will be shocked that none has been purchased. We will also be shocked that no representatives of NURTW worker has been briefed on this new development. Surprisingly, they have rushed to the press. I hope they considered resistance from the transport workers because I know all policies concerning commercial transport right from Tinubu have all failed |
Imagine his statement "if he was wrong". It appears to him the right thing to do is to slap a human being because he is a security guard. What is the difference between Seyi law and the security guard? You both work in Eko Hotel - one cracks jokes, the other directs traffic. Because Seyi law is priviledge to earn more income doesn't give him the right to treat another human being differently. These are the same people who grew from the gutter - such a waste |
Why recycle an old news? |
I am shocked that this man who used to be on the side of the masses has turned around due to the influence of aso rock to say things contrary to the truth. Except you are getting free money, which I presume he is getting, you cannot say Nigerians are not suffering. Femi I am disappointed in you |
DesChyko:I certainly don't think so. A business man source Forex at a N365 per dollar to import fuel to sell at N145 per liter. I don't get it. As long as the Forex scarcity continues, we would continue to buy fuel at abnormal prices. On the other hand, our government is not forthcoming with new on the refineries. The government is looking at long term, what about short-medium term plans. I guess it has none just like it has no economic plan |
corpROYAL:Tomatoes isn't scarce. Just expensive |
Firefire:Yea I supported him and still have positive sentiment for him. However, I cannot see a lie and ignore it because Nigeria comes first before any party affiliation. Fashola is a mistake, a round peg in a square hole. He is utilizing the same strategy he used during his tenure in Lagos and in wide amazement many lagosians were saying he performed. A Lagos without water, safety and good road! I wonder if the performance was in their dreams. Fashola cannot escape this time. Nigerians are watching and I am sick of propangada strategy. I am currently running on generator at N145/liter and 10 liters to generate 4 hours of power. To generate 24 hours will cost me N8,700 and this man, Fashola, is telling us stories. What a jerk! |
Fashola you cannot pull the stunts you did in Lagos, deceiving a lot of people with promises that never materialized. You are now on a federal pedestal and exposed to everyone. Please note that you must deliver regardless of any bottleneck or challenges. On a serious note, what is a lawyer doing in ministry of power - Fashola's appointment is just a faulty one. I don't get PMB. Our GDP is falling, fuel price hike, high inflation rate, scarcity of Forex and fuel, militancy and extremists. I supported PMB, but it seems we are regressing backward. |
SeverusSnape:A typical average Nigerian comment |
1st conviction |
Something just don't seem right! |
Passy089:My brother. All these guys talking should pray not to meet a mad woman. I believe the guy. A woman would do it to you when she know you have a lot to loss. We have mad women on parade in this country. I believe him. |
Bethelwealthy:I agree with you. Though I supported PMB. I still think it is an abuse of the right of Nigerians not to allow them express themselves. People should wake up. The fuel hike affects us all and we must speak with one voice. |
More people will join if the government does not call for an intervention meeting. The more people go to fueling station, the more they desire to join the strike action. |
zuchyblink:My friend shut up. It is people like you that are the problem in this country. Always see things from a tribal or ethnic point of view. I wonder if your eyes and brains are pointing towards the east! |
I am shocked at the comment I read here. I am a convinced supporter of Buhari's administration, but I say NO to removal of oil subsidy. Our government is very selfish. They have been selfish for a long while and why should they allow us to suffer economic hardship for future anticipations that are yet to come, when we truly know that our government is a NEVER DO WELL government, irrespective of which political parties is at the helm of affairs. A sincere and public friendly government will bear the cost and build refineries. However, our WICKED NEVER DO WELL government wants to remove oil subsidy, it has not repaired the existing refineries and is selling us a dream of building refineries in the future. NIGERIANS I TIRE FOR UNA OH. This is our opportunity to bring government to its knees. |
My brother, you talk true. Things are only going to get worse. I was amazed at how much I spent to buy fuel. Disposable income has reduced, whether we like it or not. Add, the further increment from other commodities, especially essential commodities or services. Businesses will be affected, some may not be able to compete and may close and hence increase the unemployment rate. I stand with Buhari, but WE NEED TO SCREAM NOW AND SAY NO TO SUBSIDY REMOVAL. |
tinnymerit:In this country! Has Diesel price come down? Please abeg we should leave our laptops and computing device and join Nigerians in the street and force our government to consider our economic plight. This is not suppose to be NLC strike. This should be Nigerians protest action. |
RockHard:This is no more ranks again. We are Nigerians and we need to join them. Labour must not organise the protest. Nigerians should come out and express themselves. This N145 per litre is not funny at all. |
seunmsg:I understand that there are factions amongst the Labour Union and many of them are selfish and only think for themselves. However, it is pertinent that Nigerians stand up and express their grievances and let the world know. I am a sentimental supporter of Buhari and I have soft spot for him, however, I will not allow sentiment eroded my basic reasoning ability. There is a chaotic economic situation in the country. Nothing is working, no power, no good transportation system. This fuel price hike is terrible. I think Nigerians who do not want to speak up are yet to understand and feel the economic realities that are about to hit them. Exchange rate is off the roof, basic commodities will now begin to appear as luxuries. We are aware that the government does not have the money to pay for subsidy, but we, the masses, did not create the problem. It was actually the government who in their selfish and reluctance attitude created this problem. There are different ways to solve this issue, but total subsidy removal is just so harsh. I Stand with Buhari, but I support the protest against removal of oil subsidy. We cannot continue to suffer in this country. |
Nonsense. The Chinese should be visiting our country not the other way round since we are giving them business. Lai Mohammed is yet to tell us the truth why he intends to travel |
Even from you. Na wa o |
I will presume that the governors of the affected states should be sacking their respective commissioners for environment. This report should be taken is good strides and to clean the affected cities |
I think her team is pushing her too much. I know it's important for relevance and so that they can continue to reap of on sponsors, but they need to be careful here |
Which award she win? |
All the ministers are not performing except Minister of state for petroleum. Talking to the press does not mean you are performing. You are just a chatter box |
I think the Niger Delta youths are enemies to the country and to themselves. They do not consider the environmental implications of their nefarious activities. The community at large also turn a blind eye on the criminality perpetrated by their kinsmen in the name of getting the attention of the government. I believe at this moment, the entire country should rise up against the atrocities of the Niger delta militancy. They are quick to blow up pipelines to hinder economic progress and also quick to cry foul when resistance force is being implemented. The government should not only go after the culprits, but also identify their sponsors and likewise community leaders where these pipelines are being destroyed. Enough of their stupidity. |
I don't understand the DPR warning here if there are no complicities involved. Why issue a warning to defaulters and I believe this is the second warning since the fuel scarcity. Rather than issue a warning, identify the defaulters and implement the sanctions, others will adjust themselves. Sometimes I just don't understand this country. Institutions just don't want to sit up and when privatization comes, they kick in with strike actions. What impact have they made? |
allthingsgood:After using state funds to contest 4 election what does he expect |
sexybrooke:Please if you don't understand the legalities involved, it would be preferable to get some education rather than spewing ignorance and bringing disrepute to the industrialized and well respected Ibo tribe. The EFCC has the statutory powers to freeze any suspected account during its course of investigation. This is not the time to tribalize a crime rather we should be grateful that something is being done because once it comes to sharing money and corruption, there is not tribal involved. A glimpse of the suspect culprits should give you a better hint. |
