The UK is a financial and service economy not 'heavy', manufacturers have outsourced or moved their industries to the far east or eastern europe because of tax, raw materials and low wages and it make sense doesnt it? I very sure you wont accept a job for 0.60p-£3/hr!!! Other countries will be dying to foreign businesses pay their citizens that much (cloth makers for primark, oasis, mk one and co!), second most of the resources are based outside the UK so why not cut the the cost of dong business and making everything in other region

the fact that most businesses in the UK are owned by foreigner shows that the UK has very conducive environment for business, the companies are profitable and generally well managed plus the UK govt are on top of things when it comes to monitoring and punishing those that don't play by the rules- its globalisation in its 'purest' form

Isreal had tried to stop rockets attack before. They have even occupied the land for years. Did it stop the attack? It will a sheer delusion for Isreal to think it can stop the resistance without vacating the occupied land. There appeared to be increasing diversion from the real issue. The Palestinians want Isreal to leave their land, but Isreal want to stay and then negotiate. That is absurd.

I think the UN is to blame for placing arm embargo on Palestine. With force for force, fire for fire, Isreal will not have free incussion into palestinian land in the name of stopping rocket attack, it would have opted for diplomacy.

Isreal is making heroes out of Hamas. I don't imagine how exterminating Hamas will give Isreal the peace they have never enjoyed.

What's there to verify? This is like flogging a dead horse? Take a look at the oil&gas industries, despite the fact that US import oil, US oil companies like Exxon mobil make huge profit and they control the techology in the oil&gas sector. The profit made by Exxon this year is more than the income of Nigerian government. So US is economy is very strong, it just need readjustments.

I work in the aircraft/steel industry so you can't tell me nothing. The steel industry is of course slowing down because it's part of the whole gradual process of getting out of the manufacturing sector and focussing more into services. My colleague works with the nuclear and I visited them a couple of weeks back in Devon. Does Sellafield ring a bell to you and who owns that? Does ABB rings a bell? Does ALSTOM ring a bell? Do you really think that the nuclear sector would close down in the UK? Is this your reasoning? How do you think the country would generate electricity or doyou think a country like the UK would have the fate of their electricity in the hands of foreigners in the name of cutting cost?

Are you aware that there's a trend which the industrialised nations actually follow to greatness and that's exactly what China is doing at the moment. Are you aware that the services economy actually make more money than a manufacturing economy? So what there's a slowdown which started from America,but it's eventually affecting the whole world and even my Chinese friend woring in th arts sector complained of the same thing.

You seem to be discouraged about the UK but believe you me I've been here and done that and I'm still here (in the UK). I understand how you feel about your sister's situation on how tough it was for her in securing a job but come to think of it, there were 11 Nigerians in my department last year when I was doing my MSc and is it a more co-incidence that 9 of us secured jobs while we were still in the middle of our programs? Of course not.

Fair enough you have your belief but trust me the jobs are there and despite the downturn this year, companies have said they'll not relent in hiring graduates (why?) because they'll see the lack of them in future if they fail to bridge the gap now so keep up the pressure and believe you me you'll get there.

However I'm not sure why you went to Wales because there's nothing down there but your willingness to relocate would encourage these companies and whether you have experience or not, these companies are now recruiting students with MSc degrees at an alarming rate because majority of graduates now have the basic undergraduate degrees and so you'll differ with your MSc and you're worth being hired.

Yes I agree. The electricity has become worse than how he met it. Abacha's regime and Obj's regime, I cannot say how much Nigeria lost due to looted treasury and this guys have still not been punished. Loads of people were killed in his eight years of presidency, go and say that to their families. Four plane crashes in 49days, go and preach Obj's honesty to the families of those involved. 90million or more of my fellow citizens wallow in poverty, and have no access to good roads and water, tell them we're still in the early process of nation building and more so, the willing graduates who have struggled through university and have been unable to gain reasonable employment, tell them the same.
