No other grievances for Israel and so a lot of diplomatic jobs at peace negotiations will dry up, a lot of jobs at weapons trading will dry up, a lot of sympathy for the Israeli cause will dry up, there is an emerging cooperation on the religious front between evangelicals and Jewish Rabbis and under the banner of Judeo-Christianity worship. . . without the Arabs this cooperation will dissapear and the Jews will once again be persecuted under canonical philosophies of Greco Roman beliefs.

Are you serious in saying that this is the way forward? Yes, there're BOOT (Build Own Operate and Transfer) projects, but once everyone start building their own tolls, wouldn't that defeat the purpose? I doubt that's the way forward my friend.

The supporters of Adeboye are far more intelligent and objective in their analysis than those against the Pastor.

Since the supporters of Adeboye(Gettysburg, Kobojunkie, busybein) are much more intelligent than those against him(Dayokanu, Jakumo, B.O.S.S) (at least on Nairaland), then I can confidently infer that the Pastor has a very strong and positive influence on his followers.

Since when has it become rude in supporting a just course and having an opinion that conflicts with yours? Neither was Kobojunkie supporting the man but instead trying to make a case on his suitability for the presidency. Kobojunkie hasn't specifically said that the man is suitabe for presidency (yet). I must say though, that your post however is none the more objective.

That's cool but on another note, I could tell you an account of what me, a full blooded Nigerian has witnessed over the past couple of months in the company I work with. If I tell you some drastic and unusual cuts that have been made in order to save money, you'll probably not believe especially people reading from Nigeria.

Issues below have been raised and all in effect,
The company order book have gone down by 86% (to my knowledge)
Switching off the office electricities in broad-day light so as to reduce energy (as the company pays at least £1.1 Million in electricity bills monthly and yes this is fact as I work in the Electrical Power and Distribution Department).
A compulsory two weeks break from 19th December to 5th January (however with full pay) so as to reduce electricity.
Not boiling more than 3kettles of water daily while making your own tea and ask others of their interest before boiling water to make teas.
The pow-wow (office water bottles) have been taken off offices.
Company mobile phones (on a monthly contract) have been taken from us and replaced with cheaper pay as you go from TESCO.
The road-tax have been taken off the company vans and that means they're all restricted to driving within the company yard.
There's no more food available when you go for professional courses.
Professional cources that were meant to be conducted externally have all been cancelled and they've hired someone locally to conduct the training.

Even, a wage cut of 10% have been mentioned but this was outright rejected by staff members in favour of instead working a 4-day shift and getting the same equivalent pay,

, and much more that couldn't be mentioned.

The board have hinted they want to avoid the last resort of cutting staff but if things fail to yield posotively, then the unthinkable of shelving jobs might happen and this is what loads of companies are doing (Honda, BMW, etc)  while there are Nigerians among these people losing their jobs.

On the long run, how does it affect Nigerians in the UK as a whole, well that's hard to say because Nigerians attain all levels of responsibilities right from the street cleaner to making decisions on the mega investment banks so it would eventually be a knock-on effect on anyone regardless of your naionality when these drastic job-cuts are mentioned because job cuts don't discriminate.

2009 looks gloomy _{(gosh I wish I have a crystal ball)} but hopefully things pick up soon,as this whole credit crunch is artificial,



Two of my colleagues have been unable to secure a job since graduating from their MSc degree in September, not even a menial one and my very close friend is suffering the same fate with a Pharmacy degree and still job-huning for the past six months. All the aforementioned have bought tickets and would be going to Nigeria in January so I guess in a way, it increases the effect on the Nigerian government when more burdened people with the right to residency in their country go back with weight on their shoulder hoping to be lifted.

Heaven help us all, but as for me, SCARED - NO, WORRIED - HELL YEAH !!!

More so,I think he's a good manager as he's multiplied RCCG in folds, whether he's a political leader now though, that's hard for me to say.

You really changed my views on these issues however I'll restrict that argument to being one-sided because he might be a good leader and a manager as portrayed in the expansion of RCCG but would you agree that he has failed imiseraby with recognising his missionary objectives (to Nigeria) and he hardly sees the truth outside his zone as he only cares about the expansion of his church and this could be done regardless of who bleeds (case point Lagos-Ibadan Express Way).

I just love to prove you wrong, how about answering my question about Osama Bin Laden and Simon Cowell making the list in the same year while Tony Blair was no where to be found, I'm basically saying that these lists are matters of objectivity coupled with opinions.

Well, to my knowledge, NewsWeek is not as conventional but more into Nigerian news as compared to TIME magazine and yes as I mentioned above, NewsWeek is not widely read outside Nigeria as I only see it being sold in the African shops, not in most regular bookshops._{I might be wrong about that though.}

my only problem is he may not be able to use it unless he has a good PR machine behind him.  at a time like this when the world is shaking any person with a spiritual currency/mileage will ride high if he knows what he is doing.

You could also go to the Boots in your area and check for a medication called RESPECT-YOUR-FELLOW as they definitely sell it in your area. So what Adeboye has all these free PR? My argument remains the fact that how well you think someone influences the world depends on personal opinion. What part of hard is hard to grab or do you find that rude?

I don't care if adeboye is in the list or not, all I'm saying is that I don't think he'll make the list if the list is published by a magazine that's widely read outside Nigeria.

I have a thing or two to say regarding the list of the world's movers and shakers. NewsWeek have a right to their opinion just as anybody else. Do you remember, that in 2005, Osam Bin Laden was among the 50 most influential people in the world according to TIME magazine and simon Cowell (X-Factor) was also on the same list while Tony Blair, the then prime minister wasn't?

Does that mean anything to you?

More so, with majority of Adeboye's crowd based in Nigeria, that might have prompted his NewsWeek's selection because as far as I'm concerned, apart from the sect of believers, he's not that known outside Nigeria by non-Nigerians.

Summary: Adeboye might be a pillar in Nigeria and a giant but outside Nigeria - Hell Naw.

Human resources that cannot be put to good use but useless Guiness World Record, I hope that bring food to the tables of those involved.
