This is the first time Nigerian would be rep will be coming to nairaland to defend his policy. He knew about the criticism and the pains of Nigerian youths. I am especially glad that he show he can stand for himself. Many of our leaders would not dare come around here talkless of identifying themselves.

Let us encourage Dapo, and criticise him if need be. If he win, it may be the first time Nairaland would have a say at National Assembly. This is our chance to make a change. Whatever his father have done, let us look at who he is and not what his father was.

If he get to the office and fail us, we can always know how to get at him since he is among us.

We'll be going rounf in a circle. Dapo is not competent to run as he had his chance to make headlins for a good cause at least over 4 years while his dad was a governor but all he had was negativity and though they might be hearsay, so what?

Now is not the time to start licking your wounds becaus Nigerians have suffered so much; especially from politicians who have messed up (and I'm not trying to poke at his dad) and because politics is a very unforgiving game and once you mess up, I think it's hard to gain the trust of the masses.

In a nutshell, while his dad was the governor of Oyo State, though I didn't hear the hear-says but I still think Dapo had the chance to gain publicity at least for good deeds but he did for the opposite instead so why should people trust him now. He should please spare the citzens the pain of another tenure as this would just bring up sober memories especially from people who have been through this already.

I hope this answers you Cre8tivity. I think if Dapo has a bit of sympathy in him, he shouldn't contest and he should rather prove his intentions not by words but actions in the next couple of years.

Please forgive me for any ill-informed suggestions I make because I'm in Nigeria and I've not been back since I stepped out 10years ago but I still read the daily reports from various websites and whether they are selective journalism and hence being one-sided, I'm not sure.

However, from all indications, it seems Ribadu has done something at least for Nigeria to be proud of, though it's selective indictment, I guess Nigerians are still looking to the future and are happy that some of these perpertrators (looters) are being brought to justice.

In a country like Nigeria, politics is such a dirty game that you are guilty even before being pronounced innocent and I guess that might contribute to one of the reasons Ribadu has fled the country. I accept your condemnation of this guy as I doubt there's any sane politician in Nigeria, but wouldn't yuo rather see some politicians prosecuted in a country like Nigeria than having someone like Waziri who is just a figure-head and not even bringing anyone to justice and me and you know that there's open corruption in Nigeria even without the newspars reporting it.

“A better tomorrow” I have always heard; since I was young. Maybe it will come after I grow old and die.
What amazes me most is the frenzy atmosphere often caused by the suffering masses.

Hot arguments everywhere accentuating the era of a new “demonstration of craziness” democracy. People bleed everytime a political season comes, yet they get no blood replacement. Maybe we will never learn until we loose our dear lives to people that will not appreciate it after they get in.

Nepotism seems to be the order of the day. A political jargon which means myself, my family and my close friends”. What about the thugs used (human lives), they are often used to endanger themselves by killing people to suit the lords. Using lives to endanger lives while their families are kept safe where no harshness of the reality of raw politics can reach them.

A leader by example is a true leader.
Why should I vote for a candidate that breeds thugs? Hence supporting violence to be in power?
Why should I be a part of a bloodsucking system when my life means so much to me now?

As a youth have always being in the position of watching the old role as with a senseless parade of power?
They are not by any means better than youths. At least, they have not been able to prove it.
How long are we going to be used, battered, stampeded, thrashed and enslaved by some icons with no better reasoning ability?
How do we put a stop to a cycle that endangers youth “The leaders of tomorrow”? When are we going to ever assume that position of leadership? Are we to wait till we get old and the corruption they exhude would have really gutted our system like a fire burning? Or are we to have a forum, a club and push more youth into the political system? Clean, decent, purpose driven and success-minded.

How much does it really cost to have stable power supply?

How much does it cost to live right and make right decisions that everyone can benefit from?

I like your enthusiasm and your guts (if you're ready to back it up with action when the time comes. Fair enough I'm one of those "abroad" as our parents didn't see the good in Nigeria and thought it's better to look elsewhere to build up a future in a different country rather than a crumbling and unstable one; and i all honesty, I might have been here since 1998, Nigeria is still close to my heart and though it's quite ironic because I've never been back since I stepped out of that country.

I would like to be involved in the revolution and "take our country back". We can all contribute and do something. Think about Thailand last week and their protest worked (though peaceful) and look at Greece on Saturday (though violent protest) but either way, let's take our country back and I am ready.

I believe we can all do it as it's up to us and no one else.

I'll keep my eyes peeled to see if this goes anywhere. I hope it'll not just be a mere waste of time typing all these.

I attended a very good university in London and I've been lucky now to be on a good stand work-wise. How would you disobey your parents in order to respect a pastor who has himself come over to the UK to seek greener pastures? If you cannot go to your normal Sunday service and let God do the rest in your life and face your studies squarely, I guess you're doomed for failure especially in the UK where a lot of graduates are complaining as we speak and the news is daily talking about the economy hitting recession, you still have time to obey some gentle men calling themselves men of God, oh well, I hope God himself would save you when this economy crisis hits you.
