Correspondence mail for biometrics? That's normal, you're getting it because you just did your biometrics, and you're being informed of its validity.
But if it's Letter of Introduction for port of entry, then you're favoured. So, which is it?

wealthmiq:
Good morning everyone. I'm just curious please. I just got correspondence mail without upfront medicals. if all is going well, is medical request not supposed to come before correspondence mail?

Hello,

I'll reply to the best of my knowledge.

Before you pay your fees, please know the refund policy of the university/college. That being said, let me go to your questions proper.

1. You could pay through your DOM account or pay in naira. If you pay in naira, the charges/conversion rate may be higher, this may cause a reduction in what you'll pay. So, I suggest you pay using your DOM account. Ask your bank how to do this, tell them you have the money in naira, they should assist you.
This should take care of questions 1& 2.

3. Get his statement for end of April if you're submitting your application by May. I'm suggesting this because it MAY look shady if the remaining days of the month of April aren't included, one might think you have something to hide.

4. I think there's a guideline for addressing that reason for denial at the beginning of the 13th or 14th thread of this topic. Please check it out. On the other hand, someone might help you with that.

5. I can't help with this, Qudkom might help. He could outline it extensively for you here.

6. Use the passport. When you get to the expiration bridge/year, you'll cross it by getting a new one then.

7. What do you want the marriage certificate to show? What do you intend to prove by adding this document or your mother's passport and statement of account?

PS: please include your statement of account if you can; endeavour to write convincing statements for your home tie, include as much proof as you can.

God bless.

Send one email to ALL the offices - Lagos, London and Nairobi, using a BCC - blind copying. The reply should come faster. Subject should always be 'URGENT, application number, UCI'. Say you've bought your flight ticket, include a photograph/copy of the ticket in the email.

mulikky:
Please I am in dilemma now, I've booked a flight for 3rd May to resume on the 6th but I'm yet to receive my passport despite sending email and web form to Lagos office. Please advise me on what to do next
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Bracha: 10:49am On Apr 29, 2019
Send the email. Make the subject 'URGENT your application number'. Send it asap

Stanley5050:
ok that’s a good idea. But when I called the call center, they told me that they have nothing to do with that. Telling me I should just send an email to Lagos immigration.

Hello,
Your situation is rather surprising and peculiar, I've never seen anyone who got a TRV for study permit and never used it/was uninterested in using it.
I suggest you allow it expire, instead of cancelling it because I believe a visa cancellation won't look good on your passport.

2. Your TRV is specifically for study, because there's a stated category on the visa - if you check your passport, you'll see it, it says 'student' - so you can't use it for tourism.

3. While I don't know the reason you changed your mind about travelling to study, I'll advise that if you can, you should reconsider.

Godspeed.

fumisko:
I lease I have a Canada study permit I got January this year. But I did not travel again. What am I to do?
Am I to cancel it and if yes how do I go about it?
Or am I to leave it expire on its own at no consequences?

2. Secondly can I use a study permit as a tourist visa to Canada? Or it’s impossible. Thank u

He'll take it to VFS Global, it's in Lagos. Whenever he gets any email to go to the VAC (visa application centre), he should take his passport to VFS Global, Manor Hall @ Ikate Roundabout, Lekki.

Hello,
Congrats on the admission. You need to provide proof of funds for tuition + 10,000cad in your account or your sponsor's. The proof of funds is on the CIC website; cicdotgcdotca. The tuition waiver and the TA are really low.
Paying is up to you, but if the school requires you pay some amount of money, please do.

Cutem:
Good evening house, I am new on this thread, I just got admission to university of British COLUMBIA for PhD in electrical engineering, I was giving TA ship of $3,000 CANADIAN dollar in my admission letter and a partial tuition waiver of 3708 cad dollar, I read in this thread that one need to provide proof of fund for sponsorship of 10,000 Canadian dollar, do I also need to provide this proof since I was giving this TA do I also need to pay my tuition before I apply for student visa.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Bracha: 10:24pm On Apr 27, 2019
Why do you think you need to see an already approved copy of someone else's own? It's a questionnaire in which the answers are peculiar to each person.

There's no right or wrong way to fill this questionnaire. A guide would be: Be truthful. Be intuitive. Give intelligent and not pedestrian answers, especially for why you chose the school/Canada - do an extensive research on these please. Think properly before writing the answers. If you need more paper, print more of the page(s) you need.

Godspeed.

IceTrice01:
Good day sir, please I want to submit my application at VFS on Monday, please do I need to add an SOP to my documents, it's not in the checklist of the students permit application and also how do I rightly fill this student permit questionnaire form, I'll like to get a pic of an already filled approved one if possible to use as an example, thanks.

What is on the IRCC site is correct. Please do NOT use an agent, this thing can be done by oneself.

Greyworld:
Bros pls I sent you a mail but then I need to know something about the cost of Visa cos what I got from the site negates what the agent is saying.

You could try sending a message to Kenya, and see if they reply you. If they don't, send the message to London, London will then forward it to the office handling your application. When they forward it, they either copy you in the mail, or the office replies you.

Good luck.

It cannot be reduced per se. BUT if your rwsption date is close and you haven't received any message from them, please start sending web forms and email messages to the office handling your application.

Classes begins: May 13th. MUN

I am so so grateful to God, don't even know where to start from. My approval is a miracle o. I never knew about this forum until 3 weeks after applying, whoops!! And when I started reading posts here I was so scared that I messed up my application, because I felt my documents I submitted wasn't complete, like affidavits of sponsor, certificates, and what made me scared the most was my sponsor..I used a third party sponsor, I don't even know the person, he just allowed me to use his SOA (but he was a kind man tho. I approached him that day and gave Me his SOA the next day) and my parent weren't financially buoyant at all.. I just used what I saw on Google and CIC website to apply o.
So when I started reading post here about the nairobi guys, home ties, third party sponsor...I was so damn scared , I lot hope already, I was just waiting for a refusal sef so I can reapply better and in peace, because the tension ehh no be here o.
A big thank you to @ Qudkom @ makano for your advice. @Dmerciful my personal VO ,i worried him as if he was the VO handling my application o..lol, he advised me to send another SOA (mine and my elder brother)via web form and mail to them even after getting biometric correspondence mail. thanks for your support and prayers only God can repay you.
Above all i thank God almighty for his favour and grace. I fasted and prayed earnestly, and God almighty manifested .
Thanks to everyone on this platform and to all the hopefuls, God will show his favour on your application. Amen.
You are next to testify.

I think London handled some of last year's May/June/July. From what has been posted here this year, it looks like Kenya has been handling the bulk of this year's applications so far.

It's a budding career. Chile, don't pressure me with questions like this grin. These wings are not strong enough to take off from yet grin

On a serious note tho; one theory is the work load has probably begun to increase in the Kenya office. Another theory is they've kept most of them for a later review because they are for fall resumption. This is what I presume.

sillysassysally:

Okay Mr Sherlock, do you by any chance know why many people are still on background check even though processing time has fallen to 9 weeks? I hope that's not out of scope for your Sherlock Holmes career...

I'm sorry I'm just getting to respond to this. Mine is (or was) a reapplication. Classes begin May 6.

But strangely, my passport which I submitted 3 weeks ago hasn't been dispatched or returned yet.

Anyone with an idea of what might be done to speed up the process? My flight is booked for April 30th. Wishing every TRV hopeful good news soon.

This is very true Activedreamer. Buy land, do all the proper and legit documentation, fence it, if you can hire a maiguard you can trust, do so before leaving.

lillaowow:
"You made 9k working". Did you have the right authorization?

As much as I wanted to advise you to buy property in Nigeria, don't buy a "rentals" if you won't be around to monitor it.

"Onigbese", plenty for naija especially when they know you ain't around. They will use your rental anyhow, not pay rent and run away with your funds. (True life story bro)

You're better off buying a land, do all your documentation of the said land in hope the flip it in nearest future (the downside is inflation and exchange rate). The land option is a less headache.

Was your passport included in the envelope? If it was, then please check your spam folder for the message.

Cutieflaky:
Good morning all, I got a mail on the 10th of April that my processed passport has been dispatched to Canada Visa Application Centre, so I went to receive it today so as to know the reason I was refused but when I opened the envelope saw this slip and I didn't receive any mail from them. It is quite confusing, has this ever happen to anyone?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Bracha: 12:12pm On Apr 23, 2019
Before you submit your application, please make sure you have fulfilled the financial support requirements. Make sure you have tuition fee + 10,000cad in your account or in your sponsor's account. Or maybe pay a part of the tuition and have the rest in your account or you sponsor's.

I'm emphasising on this because a loan promissory note from a bank won't work at all, especially if that's the only proof of finance you'll be submitting. I'm sure someone will reach out to assist you with the online application.

Good luck.

Tjkeyzzz:
Thanks boss

I will drop my documents before applying

Is anybody in Ibadan or lag here that can assist me with the online application

Transport and feeding will be taken care of

I don't remember the exact words, that was why I wrote “something like”. I don't remember when I sent the email, I don't remember much about that application but I do remember that response because it left the impression that I was to wait till the processing time elapsed. And I worked with that impression during my third application.

Like I stated before, that was MY experience and things may have changed. At the time of submission of my final application, processing time was at 9 weeks, mine too 20 weeks.

No one is applying for anyone, this race is an individual one, anyone can arrive at whatever conclusion they deem fit and run with it. All that matters is success.

hilaryxoxo:
Please let me understand...
Did they specifically mention that "the application hasn't passed the processing time for when you applied" ?
Its important to explain the context. Did you send the CSE after 5 weeks (when current processing time was 10 weeks and when processing time as at when you applied was 14 weeks?)

I have reasons I'm asking this...
I want to believe processing times are retrospective because CIC even says that "processing time tells you how long it took them to process most complete applications, in the past"... SO THEREFORE, any processing time you see on their website is a reflection of the average time it took them to process applications IN THE PAST! NOT the time it would take to process new applications in the future... Based on this, I think the processing time should be applied realtime.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Bracha: 11:03am On Apr 18, 2019
When I applied the second time, I remember sending an email a few weeks after submitting the application, I received a response that was something like the application hadn't passed the processing time for when I applied. That was in 2017 tho. That application was all of 9 weeks and I was denied in the end.
Things may have changed now, but I answered from that experience.

hilaryxoxo:
