Association of Organic Agriculture Practitioners of Nigeria (NOAN) had its maiden edition of the much anticipated Organic weekend held on March 28, 2022 at Abuja City Park, Ahmadu Bello way, Wuse, Abuja, Nigeria. Organic weekend is an initiative of the Knowledge Centre for Organic Agriculture in Africa, a project sponsored by the GIZ and implemented by Enda Pronat, Agrecol and FENAB. The event attracted stakeholders from all levels of organic agriculture value chain viz: Producers of Organic / Ecological products, Processors, traders and Organic produce Consumers, local press organisations (Producers, NGOs ). NOAN is a non-governmental organisation situated in Nigeria, the only organisation adopted as the umbrella body for organic agriculture organisations in Nigeria and a focal institution implementing the Knowledge Centre For Organic Agriculture in Africa (KCOA). The event is set to promote organic and ecological agriculture and will involve sales exhibitions, sharing sessions (experiences, partnerships, networking, etc.) and communication with the actors in the value chain. The event also promoted the exhibition of processed agricultural products, agro-ecological and organic inputs (seeds, fertilizers), stimulate the expansion of the network of organic consumers with the promotion of EOA, among the population. It also aimed to create a framework for exchanges between the different links in the value chain. The event served as a side event at the Association’s Annual General Meeting, with exhibitors of several organic produce in attendance. Organic Weekend set to promote and intensify the level of awareness and advocacy in organic agriculture in Nigeria, promote organic agribusiness through the clusters of stakeholders in the organic agriculture value chain. The Governing Board , members of the Association (NOAN), at all categories commend the efforts of GIZ, Enda Pronat, FENAB and Agrecol for this laudable course and hope to have events of this nature and more taken place.

The 5th annual National Organic Agriculture Business Summit is here again! This year's summit is scheduled to hold at Watbridge Hotels and Suits,11a / b, IBB way, opposite Ibom Hall, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on November 3 - 5,2020. Association of Organic Agriculture Practitioners of Nigeria is the only organization adopted as the umbrella body for organic agriculture organizations in Nigeria. The organization advocates sustainable organic agriculture void of environmental hazards and danger to humans, plants, soils and animal lives. The Association has its membership drawn from farmers,researchers, academics, exporters, marketers and media practitioners. One of our major ventures is Participatory Guarantee System(PGS) it is a quality control and assurance scheme aimed at ensuring quality and standard farming culture and outputs. This is a periodic exercise subject to renewal for all organic agriculture Practitioners. It includes, among other things, inspections and certification. This scheme, among other things is open to members of the Association and every other organic farming practitioners. The agriculture sector has gone beyond food sufficiency, it requires and inculcated healthy and safe farming culture for its consumers, it is very important that food consumed are not in any way posing danger to humans, animals, soils, plants and the environment hence the delve into organic agriculture. Part of what we do at Association of Organic Agriculture Practitioners of Nigeria is the Participatory Guarantee System, a second party certification and a quality assurance and control scheme for organic agriculture standards globally approved by international organisations such as IFOAM. Our Association advocates sustainable agriculture in such a way that the environment, human, plants , soils and animal lives are not endangered. We are adopted as the only umbrella body for organic agriculture organisations in Nigeria. Our membership is drawn from all facets of organic agriculture value chain. Ecological Organic Agriculture Initiative (EOA-I) in collaboration with Kano State Governmemnt is ready for its 4th annual National Organic Agriculture Business Summit (NOABS 2019). this is the 4th of its kind and the theme for this year's summit is tagged "Organic Export: Opportunities For national Development" and will take place at Tahir Guest Palace, No 4, Natsugune Road, kano State, Nigeria. A training and development scheme that aimed at transferring knowledge on Organic Agriculture Standards and guiding principles for startup businesses and existing farmers who wish to convert to Organic Agriculture. The Association of Organic Agriculture Practitioners of Nigeria is an organization adopted as an umbrella body for organic agriculture in Nigeria. Parts of the objectives of this training are to advocate for organic agriculture and sustainable farming void of hazards to human, plants and animal lives. The training will cover the three major geo-political zones of Nigeria, with contact classes in these regions. It is also open to members of the Association and that of the general public.
