My dear, that woman you call Mary, is not the mother of Jesus Christ. The mother of Jesus was never worshipped by anyone until Catholic Church of She is Pre-Madona, the Queen of heaven, a demon. vooks: The bible was given by all who authored it. The church is anybody who believes in Jesus Christ. What do you mean where the church is? There was never a bible for the first 400 years of christianity, so I don't understand how all those who authored it gave us the bible. There were several books claming to be scripture but scripture had to be declared so authoritatively. Who did this declaration? How do you know who authored the Gospel according to Luke for instance and how did it become scripture? You have a point about church being a community of believers, this was especially true when Jesus established his church and it was clear what the true church was with the Apostles as Leaders. However, we know that from early days there were heretical groups claiming to know the correct teachings. Some even claiming Jesus is not God. We also know that there are now several thousand denominations claiming to know the truth with differing doctrines (e.g. holy eucharist real body of Jesus or symbolic, infant baptism valid or not etc.) and no unity. Where is the one church Jesus established? How did this church operate in the early years? Did Jesus really establish the lack of unity which his apparent among the 'anybody who believes in Christ' comment you made? |

Travel › Nigerian Passport Renewal In UK- Feeling Ripped Off! by btoks(op): 3:49pm On Jan 07, 2016 |
I just applied for 4 E-passports in UK and I’ve had to pay $137 x4 = $548 as the cheaper 32-page passports are not being issued in UK! Someone please help with below because I’m feeling very ripped off at the moment?
Does anyone know why we have to pay additional $30 x 4 when we appear at the High Commission? Why do you get a 64-page passport valid for only 5 years? How come you don’t get the option of a 32-page passport in UK – our 4 passports would have been approx. $120 cheaper.
I very much doubt I’ll be using up the 64 page passport in 5 years! |

Ok, so when are guys having 'a day with Joseph'? Doesn't he know how to intercede as well?
So to you guys, Jesus is not enough to intercede for you? Did he complain you guys are overloading his network, and you should resort to asking mary to intercede in lieu?
If anyone should intercede, shouldn't it be someone who defied death, like Enoch and Elijah who were taken up into heaven?
Go and expand your mind. every saint is honoured ,bro. Check the liturgy of Mass, and the numerous saint prayers. Those without specific dates are honoured on 'All Saints day '. St Josephs specific day is March 19. Bro, you've got a lot to learn about Christianity because it didn't start in 21st century. We worship our Lord Jesus ,he is the focus of everything done in the Catholic Church. To be deep in history is to cease to be protestant.- John Newham.

By way of comparison, the proposed High Speed Rail network in UK will cost £40bn to build over next 10 years. This project alone is more than the entire works/power/transport budget over the same period at current rates. One just hopes that this works budget and others are put to good use and over time revenues increase in the country to effect a bigger budget. |

musicwriter: Only science can solve the poverty problem of a nation, not holding lectures. Ignorant elites everywhere!.
First of all, in order to begin the journey to our economic freedom we must pursue true education, especially as it concerns science education. The current model of education that we inherited from colonial Britain and France does not support development in Africa. In fact, western education is anti-development. That's ultimately why we're poor. Western powers don't want you to know this. I proved it conclusively in the part 1 and 2 of the link on my signature.
Science + Technology = Industry.
Science + Technology + Industry = Development.
It's that simple!,
Africa cannot develop without investment in grassroots science. I read your article, fantastic insight into our fundamental issues as Africans due to mental slavery and the impact on our economy. We've got a long way to go but can be turned around with great vision and political will. |

erimmy: Am sorry if you lack simple comprehension as regards my post. How dare you call my write up a rant? When you don't know anything concerning different agencies and their functions, the smartest thing you should do is to exercise some level of sense of learning and not jump into the fray as one with a psychiatric concern. That being said,I gave a professional insight into what might have happened as regards the alleged seizing of a Nigerian passport from its holder by an authorized agent of government. Yes, like you pointed out, people are free to move from one point to another, but when it comes to transborder or international movement, such freedom is greatly reduced for security reasons.Even a sitting president of a country subjects himself for scrutiny by an immigration officer at any point of entry or departure, how much less an ordinary citizen. Again, nobody can tell us what really transpired between the said traveller and the immigration officer. Now to you, whenever you travel please stop giving an officer a bribe in order to cloud his sense of judgement and report any officer that ask you part with any money especially if your documents are valid. Remember, HE THAT GIVETH BRIBE AND HE THAT TAKETH IT COMMITETH THE SAME CRIME. I pointed to one part of your speech as a rant and you compare me to one with a psychiatric concern!! " To the ignorant folks, the passport you claim that's its yours, isn't yours. You are only a holder. The passport is an exclusive property of the Federal government of Nigeria and can be withdrawn from you at any point without prior notice if you violate it usage, and the government agency responsible for both the issuance and withdrawal is NIS.I know many Nigerians just hold passports without reading the caution note on the inside back page of it" in the context of this thread it felt like a rant. The fact you can state" how dare you", "ordinary citizen"shows the level of communication we're dealing with. Is a president not an ordinary citizen?!! The fact remains that majority of immigration officers are corrupt, anecdotal evidence from this thread alone points to this fact. This is what is the main issue.Once this is sorted, travellers will get a better experience. I do understand there are some travellers that try to beat the system and they need to be dealt with not legitimate travellers |
Travel › Re: Angry Citizen Blasts Immigration Officials In Lagos Airport For Bribery by btoks: 1:09pm On Dec 05, 2015 |
erimmy: I am an immigration officer and I want to say this, and quote me.No immigration officer,no matter how greedy he/she is, can conveniently seize a passport belonging to a Nigerian without the said Nigerian committing an immigration offence. Sometimes, some Nigerians are funny, they don't have the requisite valid travel documents which can enable them to travel abroad, yet, they would want to travel at all cost.To the ignorant folks, the passport you claim that's its yours, isn't yours. You are only a holder. The passport is an exclusive property of the Federal government of Nigeria and can be withdrawn from you at any point without prior notice if you violate it usage, and the government agency responsible for both the issuance and withdrawal is NIS.I know many Nigerians just hold passports without reading the caution note on the inside back page of it. So my dear op,kindly ask the concerned Nigerian if her travel documents were valid at that time.As a matter of fact people beg immigration officials to collect bribe from them once they are told that they don't have valid travel documents, so in this case, might be that the passenger involved didn't have valid travel documents, yet she still wanted to travel by all means. Is the immigration staff a father Christmas? lol, LAST DAYS PASSENGER. I'm sorry officer, your rant about about the Federal Government owning the passport does not hold here.every human has a right to move from one point to another, the passport is just there for a form of control. Having said that, majority of issues at the airport are experienced by Legitimate travellers(mostly naive). Immigration officers should be enforcing Laws not taking travellers for fools and extorting them by dubious means. I've never travelled illegitimately but always had a poor immigration experience departing from or arriving into Nigeria. I'll suggest that it is the officers who require a total reorientation to give travellers a pleasant experience while enforcing relevant laws. |

1. The feet should be a little more than shoulder width apart, with the front foot being at an angle of 45 degrees to the imaginary line drawn from the toe on the front foot to the heel on the back foot I think we can cut the Alaafin some slack given his 77 year old body.Generally speaking his stance is ok. |

Christianity Etc › Re: If You Can Answer All These With The BIBLE ALONE I Willlleave The Church by btoks: 10:01am On Nov 05, 2015 |
Scholar8200: Jesus, after resurrection established the Inspiration of the Law, Prophets and Psalms (Luke 24:27,44), referring to that written therein concerning Him! Furthermore, He sent the disciples to teach men ALL things He had commanded and taught them (Matthew 28:20)- the 4 Gospels. The other parts of the NT were the writings of the Apostles (and Disciples) thus sent and none invented any new thing other than that revealed. Besides, Peter's reference to Paul's writings endorses the latter (for those who want it) having accepted his calling as an Apostle to Gentiles (the first). Galatians 2:8-10, 2 Peter 3:15-16 John 15:20,26,27 There, Jesus spoke about the sayings of the Apostles and that the disciples would testify of Him having being with Him from the BEGINNING (of His Earthly ministry this testifying not being the same as preaching the Gospel-a command to all believers). It is not by mistake that the last of them to die - John - concluded the book of Revelations with Revelations 22:18,19 - an express warning to those who may come to claim new/strange revelations/ tradition contrary to that which was written!
The Apostles severally warned of ANY belief, teaching or practice contrary to that which was given. See 2 John 10,11; 2 Timothy 3:16; Galatians 1:8,9 and Revelations 22:18,19
That was no approval given! Why? Remember that Jesus denounced the same people for making God's Word of none effect through their TRADITIONS Mark 7:6-13 See: They worship Me in vain [their worship is meaningless and worthless, a pretense], Teaching the precepts of men as doctrines [giving their traditions equal weight with the Scriptures].’ Mark 7:7
Being an Apostle whose Apostleship was not denied by the other Apostles, Paul's traditions here was nothing different from that which characterised the early church - breaking of bread (1 Cor 11:23-33), prayers (Ephesians 6:18/ Colossians 4:2,12,) teaching of the Word (Acts 20,21), dignity of labour ( 2 Thess.3:6,7,10), holiness of life (1 Thess 2:10), church administration (1 & 2 Timothy), discipline (1 Corinth 5:11-13) etc
These quotes were from Inspired sources! Besides, one rallying point is that none of those contradicted that which was written! (One of the surest test of what is inspired and what is not). etc Moreover, can it be perfectly established that they were quoting from oral traditions? Is it not possible that the Writers were being Inspired by He that Inspired the first speakers? Afterall: 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. 2 Peter 1:21
This question is a summary of some earlier ones already answered.
How does this apply to the church issue? For assistance, remember that the book of Jeremiah contains the prophecies and part of the biography of Jeremiah but most of the writings were done by Baruch! Paul authored a good number of epistles but the actually penman were his lieutenants eg Tertius Romans 16:22...
On the basis for which Christ authenticated His Ministry - the Law, prophets and the Psalms. But we have a plus now - the Words of Christ.
Deep calleth unto deep. That neither Christ nor His disciples referred or quoted from the inter-testament period books underscores the statement in Isaiah 34:16 Seek ye out of the book of the Lord, and read: no one of these shall fail,...: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his Spirit it hath gathered them. The Spirit that inspired them will do the sifting.
Summary Salvation is through faith in Christ (after repentance), not in a Church. Unfortunately, you didn't answer OPs questions correctly and dribbled a fair bit.that's because they can't be answered via sola scriptura. E.g. you didn't state how we know who wrote Matthew etc. how we know the books that make up the bible. your answers are from your tradition and the benefit of history, not sola scriptura |
