PoliticsRe: 2015: Buhari, Atiku Clash Over Procedure For Presidential Primaries by BTT(m):
networkgenuis: ...

At the end of a National Executive Committee, NEC meeting of the party last weekend, the party was unable to forge a consensus on the issue with associates of the major aspirants reportedly holding on to their positions.
Two of the major presidential aspirants, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari and former vice-president Atiku Abubakar, Vanguard learnt were at the head of the major divisions over the adoption of a consensus or the conduct of primaries for the adoption of the presidential candidate. ...

Buhari wants consensus candidacy.
Party sources disclosed that Buhari’s associates in the party were pushing for consensus on the fact that majority of the party positions across board were filled with consensus. On the other hand, the Buhari supporters are praying that if the consensus arrangement is jettisoned for any reason that a direct primary involving all 18 million registered members of the party be held.

Their point is being strongly opposed by Atiku’s growing supporters within the party hierarchy who say that a direct primary would be unwieldy, costly. Rather, the Atiku camp has proposed what it called a Modified Direct Primary that would involve about 20,000 delegates choosing the party candidate. That prospect is feared by the Buhari camp who claimed that it would offer opportunity to easily woo or take over delegates hitherto pledged to other aspirants.

According to the Buhari supporters, the introduction of full direct primary would limit the prospect of Atiku wooing the delegates unlike a modified primary that could see Atiku and his agents now in the field winning the number of delegates. ...

Atiku at the weekend, however, pledged his determination to abide by any democratic procedure adopted by the party even as he canvassed the advantages of the Modified Direct Primaries.
In an email statement issued to correspondents on the issue by his media aide, Mallam Garba Shehu, the Atiku camp said:
...

“Those who argue for direct primaries also need to factor in the fact that there is no way you take the process from the hands of governors if you allow it to take place in the states. Genuine fears on the part of some people is that in nearly each state, they may just end up writing the results or where this is not possible, breathe down on the necks of local officials to do as they wish.”
“The Modified Direct Primary cannot on the other hand be faulted as being undemocratic because the delegates coming forward, as proposed, are all elected officials. There is no dispute concerning their status as elected officials. For this reason alone, they are credible because they are representative of their wards. We support it because we believe it is broad enough to make for popular representation.”
“Even at this, 20,000 delegates is still a large number to bring under one roof, considering that even the PDP brings together between four to five thousands delegates only for the their presidential primaries.”[/b]
Summary be say: Buhar no gree retire, Atiku no gree tell himself say him no get nation-wide following.

In the Ota-farmer's palance: I dey laugh.

drumma: Sounds familiar with my accord....... it will keep working fine until u start experiencing it again.... Kick/Ignition/Whatever your car spec uses I think is the problem.

:d
Well, I had a similar problem with my Infiniti -g20 and kept spending on trial and error technicians.

Funny experiences...
Packed to make a long call - car won't start.
Packed to pick some things in the supermarket - car won't start (my mech got there the following morning, car started on first attempt!)
Went to pick my wife's car in her office for a long haul, she closed late to go home, car won't start
Etc

The solution?

A sensor/socket on the gear box (there are two, of which one) had partial contact.

Check those out too.

Can be very frustrating. Sorry bruv.

Happy birthday in arrears Linda. May your deepest valleys be filled and your highest mountains be humbled. Again, happy birthday and enjoy your life.
Christianity EtcRe: Recording Of TB Joshua Talking To Journalists (Audio) by BTT(m): 9:07pm On Sep 20, 2014
It is usually very futile proving a VOICE recording in a court of law, except with impeccable dexterity from a seasoned lawyer.

That being said, I believe in the audio recording as true and undoctored.

As to whether or not it is a bribe, I agree that "#50,000 for fuel" is not a true and honest statement. The Bible uses the word 'gift' to refer to bribe when it says "accept not gifts, for it blinds the eyes". It would therefore be safe to assume that the journalists were called in for a press conference to be given "gifts" (of a tape and 'fuel money'), which in turn determined what is to be reported.

My honest advice to TB Joshua is that he gets really careful. The pressure that this accident is bringing may get him to do uncomely things. But then pressures too show the true stuff we are made of.

RIP to the "martyrs". May their loved ones find fortitude.

All warning lights on dash board came on and engine temperature rose to heaven

this caused coolant reservoir to start leaking too.

I burnt my while fingers trying to uncap radiator cover.

Thank God I fixed everything with just n1200
Yeah, that's right.

Your coolant reservoir is intact. What happenend to it was that the coolant had to look for a way to escape the built-up pressure as it wasn't being pumped into the engine.

The coolant escapes through the orifice (small hole) built around the reservoir to allow oxygen.

See you. Na you old school pass.

I used the word 'fan belt' for ease of understanding, which too is the street-credible name.

In some brands/models, of especially Nissan/Infiniti, the serpentine belt across the steering-pump, a/c compressor, roller, etc is actually belted to the water pump.

You have that belt cut, and there you go.

EducationRe: 6 Reasons Not To Attend A Public University by BTT(m): 3:58pm On Sep 10, 2014
OduntanGabriel: This is a counter thread to what was written by a fellow nairalander.

Here are the 6 reasons why I attending a private university is good for you.

1)Conducive Environment : When you look at some government owned universities, you wonder if this is actually a secondary school or what? The government of nigeria doesn't really show much concerns to their schools but private university believes that a conducive environment is very essential for learning. When you go to private universities for a tour , you don't feel like leaving there, they have things in place for learning. You see student of public university overcrowded(receiving lectures through the window or standing @ the door) how do you learn in this environment, with so much heat thanks to the over population.

2)COST: Yea, I know you do be surprised I said cost. Private universities are expensive, you don't expect education to be cheap. The are expensive because they give you value for money. I leave you with the slogan which says if education is expensive try ignorance.

3)CONNECTION: No matter how rich a man is,if he doesn't have connection,he's useless. Private universities creates an avenue for you to meet the sons and daughters of the rich and powerful men in our societies. The Dangotes and otedolas have their sons ,daughters, nephew etc in this so called private universities and this can easily elevate you. Being a scholar does not guarantee you an employment opportunity in our society except you are connected. Isn't it a good thing to be dinning and winning with the crème de la crème of society? Answer me

4)SECURITY: Our public schools are not safe, not even safe for the lecturers not to talk of the students. Many student have lost their lives to this game called Cultism (even the innocent ones). Some lecturers who refuse to dance to the tune of this so called school prefects have kicked the bucket. What is the essence of making a 1st class in public universities and on your graduation day or final exam ,you get wasted. Abraham Maslow's listed 5 hierarchy of needs and SAFETY is one of it. Our Public universities are not safe for learning

5) STRIKE ACTION: OMG, why would a 4years course becomes 6years without any extra years or carry over? Strike has been one of the main problem facing the education system in nigeria. Some people entered the university @ the age of 25 with the hope of finishing a 4 years course but due to strike actions the finished at the age of 31 and couldn't go for their youth service because they are above 30years. In a private university, you know when you are graduating except the student failed some courses which lead to extra years.

6) Discipline: There is discipline in private university, you don't slap your lecturer, you don't threaten your fellow colleague. You don't run away from lecturers, you don't receive calls while having lectures, all because you want to party or flex. Remember , the main reason you are in school is too learn. Private university instill discipline on their student unlike public university.
You have said nothing!
