The Presidential system of government which is designed to ease governance amongst the three tiers which are,The Executives,Legislators and the Judiciary.This arrangement diffuses power amongst the three tiers in order to have smooth running of affairs of govt through separation of powers and checks and balances.Nigeria's democracy which is modeled after that of the US leaves much to be desired,looking at how the various responsibilities are shared in Nigeria's democracy one will wonder why members of the National Assemby are given huge sums of money for constituency projects,isnt that an Executive function?the law stipulates that the National Assembly is to laws,the executive is to implement,why the judiciary is to interprete conflicting interests.The question is the allowances given to the National Assembly justifiable? |

Seamah: On Sunday evening, news of a fiery message delivered by Pst. Tunde Bakare was making wave. By Monday it had caught on like wild fire culminating in his invitation by the SSS. We cannot deny the fact that Nigeria is not living up to her potentials,no thanks to poor leadership over the years. Nigeria has two major religion, christianity and Islam. However, i have noticed that it is only pastors who are busy calling for the division of this country, death of the president and resignation of the president, while their Muslim counterparts have respectfully stayed out of these issues. Is it that they are being used as fronts by some politicians? Are men of God not supposed to be neutral, admonishing both the opposition and the government in power? Am just wondering, are pastors now the greatest threat to our democracy and unity as a country?I pity people like you,pls if you don't have anything to write just keep quiet,do you think that every that bears John,Benson are Christians?many pastors maybe parading themselves as as Pastors but God doesn't even know the.Don't bring any religious angle to this,so called Pastors and Imams are politicians,that one na their own palaver,you have taken side already which is very wrong. 1 Like |

The church is a sacred place of worship were men,women and children come together under one umbrella to worship God,Christians since time immemorial are known of converging every Sunday to listen to sermons,sing song songs and words of edification to strengthen their spiritual lives.Unfortunately,in the Latter Rain Assembly it's a different ball game,I watched with disdain the other day over the television how the General overseer,Pastor Tunde Bakare spend the whole time of his sermon playing politics and criticing govt.Wahala dey oh,come and see how people dey confuse,despair and shame covered their faces because of how their Pastor dey misyarn and has lost touch with his Creator putting self before his original calling,using the Holy pulpit preaching politics and abusing govt simply because he has lost out.If I were to be a member of his church,I would have prayed for my Pastor to come back to his senses,shun politics and concentrate on his original calling,rather than to be disgracing himself before God in public glare. The insecurity in most parts of the North is disturbing. Human blood has become so cheap that people are killed recklessly and carelessly witout human feelings. Unfortunately, it was another bloody weekend in Plateau State, where lives were wasted including a serving Senator, Gyang Dantong. Even though there are conflicting reports concerning the heinous incident, the question echoes, “who killed Senator Gyang Dantong?” I know that the first answer dat will strike most minds and lips is the insurgent group, boko haram, to which every crime in whatever form is attributed. The underlying questions are, are there fifth columnists who benefit from the orgies of violence bedeviling our dear nation? Could they be politically motivated or is it the unending feud between the Fulani herdsmen and the surrounding berom communities.these questions may never be answered, but the fact still remains that there are those who feed on violence in Nigeria, it has been turned into merchandise for yielding profits to the detriment of many innocent Nigerians. I recall vividly that Marilyn Ogar, spokesperson of the SSS once stated that boko haram has become a franchise. There are so many people who have come under the guise of boko haram to carry out criminal activities. this to me,indicates that there are beneficiaries of the pockets of violence in some parts of the country, especially Northern Nigeria.Regrettably, “boko haram” has been politicized along lines dat are divisive. The federal, State and Local governments must be up and doing in the protection of lives and property. I wonder what the STF who are stationed permanently, were doing when this carnage took place. The government must wake up to its responsibilities. By and large, the question still remains, who killed Senator Dantong. Time will tell............ |

I doubt if Pastor Bakare was ever called or chosen by God to work for Him,because his lifestyle is different from a man who knows and serves God,how can you be abusing a whole President?if he knows the Bible well,even if the President falters he will pray for him,but to make his Church a political ground,where he mixes the word of God and his bitter politics it's very sad.Pastor Bakare is not a good leader,because good leaders are good followers,the confused Pastor should keep quiet and ask God to help him identify his talents and gifts elsewhere other than the Church cos he has failed in this aspect. |
