Operatives of the State Security Service (SSS) yesterday arrested the Gombe State correspondent of the People’s Daily newspaper, Mallam Awwal Ahmed, at his residence in Gombe. It was gathered that the reporter was arrested alongside six others, including a nursing mother during a raid. It was further gathered that the state’s Director of the State Security Service, Mr Bitrus Asha, in a telephone conversation confirmed the arrest, saying it was in connection with an investigation being carried out by the command. A source at the reporter’s house said the operatives in large numbers stormed the area at around 2:00 am. He said during the about one hour operation, occupants of the house were asked to queue up before they made the arrest, adding that the nursing mother may have been picked up in place of her husband. The SSS did not state exactly why they are holding the reporter and others, but promised to get back to newsmen as soon as possible. http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/index.php/news/173378-sss-arrests-peoples-daily-reporter-others-in-gombe |

As much as we always critise the PDP of many shortcomings and godfatherism and favouris,I use to think that the ACN is a true democratic ,which is very fair devoid of sentiments not until their primaries was that I got disappointed.I am an ardent follower of the senate, btw 2003 to 2011 Senator MAMORA of the ACN who represented Lagos East Senatorial zone at the senate, became like a house name with his juicy contributions which added value to the growth and development of our great nation.Low and behold, after the ACN was done Senator MAMORA'S name was replaced with that of the wife of the ACN godfather,Senator Oluremi TINUBU who now sits in the Senate looking very worried making no any significant contribution.I could remember the senate was almost thrown into mourning mood when they heard about the news of his replacement. If only TINUBU was democratic enough devoid of sentiments,he would have allowed merit to prevail over sentiments.Sincerely ACN fold my hand for this matter, dey thing d pain me everything I think of that matter, and TINUBU claims to be a saint when it comes to criticing the PDP,this one no be favoritism and nepotism in the face of merit?make wuna help me judge...... |
The major problem with El rufai is his arrogance,he thinks he knows everything and have the solutions to Nigeria's problems not knowing that he has contributed to the problems.Who go dash am President sef I doubt he will even win a ward if he contest an an election,he is just a desperate and confuse man,,I am very sure that the spirits of those who he send to the grave prematurely are hunting him. |
