That is not true- were Ekeremadu,Amaechi,Uduaghan,Wike,Dino Melaye etc wealthy before they entered politics? If you needed to be wealthy: then why has $600 billion dollars been pilfered since 1960 and why are majority of federal, state and local government allocations looted by the wealthy elected politicians?
If they were not wealthy, and were poor like you, then I have to ask, why did uncrooked you not go into politics leaving us with crooks like them (assuming they are crooks)? Is it not the lack of supposedly honest people like you in politics that leaves us with supposed crooks?

I am not against scrutinising politicians! In fact, scrutiny, as small as it is, is why I support bubu, since there was no scrutiny under the prior government. But assuming all politicians are crooks is as lazy as thinking all Nigerians are crooks. I don't think you are a crook and I think you are Nigerian!

Let us indeed scrutinise. But let us not just assume every rich person stole their wealth because it can't possibly be true.

Telling lies to support corruption. All for crumbs from the table of the corrupt.
Yes. It is a right in a sane society to question the source of one's wealth. Or how exactly do you think the likes of Pablo Escobar and the Italian mafia were found out. Or the wolves who devoured on Wall street.
Stop speaking from a position of ignorance. Unquestionable wealth is corrupt wealth
Pablo and the Italian mafia were investigated for crime, and not just for being wealthy. And if you weren't ignorant, you'd know there's a lot of wealthier people in the country those two you mentioned were investigated who are not investigated at all.

RuudVanNisteroy:
Most wealth obtained through Nigeria is through financial crimes and tax evasion.
I hear this a lot, along with "most Nigerians are crooks". Yet when I ask those who make such claims if they and their mama and papa are crooks, they say "of course not", so I kindly inform them they must be non-Nigerians then.

You don't see the hard work a lot of wealthy Nigerians do, as insinuated by my story about a man who lived on Osinbajo Close. And your "most wealth" is that of people you read about in the media, and not the majority of people who silently get on with their business and the enjoyment of their wealth.

RuudVanNisteroy:
There is a vast gulf between the rich and poor, unlike other countries around the world, were wealth is equally distributed.
There is no country in the world where wealth is equally distributed, and there is a vast gulf everywhere between rich and poor, as wealth is as unequally distributed as sense in the head, diligence, and know how to get rich.

In fact, wealth is not "distributed" at all, you got to go work for it!

RuudVanNisteroy:
Nigeria is paradise for the fantastically corrupt, who can get away with any financial crimes without paying the price.
In Nigeria politics and public service is seen as a means to become an overnight billionaire. And no one will ever question you about the source of your wealth.
Sorry, but I know Nigerian politicians and public servants who are not rich, and I know some who were jailed for their corruption while in office, so I can't possibly agree with you since it would involve the refusal to use my senses or non acceptance of what I perceive with them.

The fact is, you need wealth to be a politician in the first place or you wouldn't be able to afford the nomination form.

Politics in other climes is a call to service and not an avenue to become wealthy. Just because he became a Commissioner and later Vice-President shoudn't have changed his fortunes based on the salaries and allowances earned while in office and abiding by civil service rules of not engaging in private business.
My story was set in the early 70s. The person it is about was not a civil servant on salary. The reason people said his wife was in a cupboard is he was already very rich. And the "call to serve" is to everyone, and most specially should be heard by those who do not like or appreciate those who are currently 'serving'.

There was this wealthy man who lived on Osinbajo Close in Obanikoro close to Bola Adewunmi Street where I once lived. People said his wife was in a cupboard, and every time he needed money, he just had to call her name and money fell from her mouth. I asked them how they knew this, if, when he called his wife's name he invited them in to watch, but they told me how ignorant I was and I should shut the fuq up.

What they didn't know was the man who lived on Osinbajo Close was a hard working lawyer who would go on to become the Vice President of Nigeria.

Op, you may not be rich, yet, but does any one have the right to ask where you get your money from? Would you like people to have that right?

Me too see.

Pity is, when you stoop low, my eyes mist over and I miss what you are saying. But then, I guess you aren't writing for my benefit.

You are indeed a "genuine believer", but you seem to lack understanding. How you could find merit in emulating satan would befuddle me if I had not found that most Christians think believing is a good thing despite Jesus continuously railing against the believing Sadducees and Pharisees.

I can only hope that when your suffer reach the unbearable point you'd dump the believing and begin to understand instead and seek to know. After all, if you truly Love the Lord your God with all your beating heart and with all your living soul and with all your thinking and reasoning mind, you'd seek to know instead of believing and trembling, nay, suffering, like satan does.

I do not think my parents can be blamed for my failures. If they did not plan for me, I could have learnt from other places and planned for my own future, unless you are indirectly blaming me for making my parent's labours vain, in which case, I am guilty as charged and should repent and make a plan least my children become even more useless than I seem to be.

A multinational state, Nigeria is inhabited by more than 250 ethnic groups with over 500 distinct languages all identifying with a wide variety of cultures.
All those things you mentioned are not a nations potential.

If the peoples' heads are empty, the nation they live in is like a car with no engine that has no potential at all.

Of course someone would, and your good reputation would be intact if you do not scam any of them, and there'd hardly be a thread like this one about you, and if there is, your unscammed clients would rise to your defense. But without a trading record, your clients are likely to beware and escrow any funds remitted to you.

THE CRIMINALS SEEM TO GET AWAY BY REPORTING POSTS, WHICH THE MODS SIMPLY DELETE WITHOUT CROSSCHECKING FOR FACTS.

I HAVE RECEIVED SCREENSHOTS WHERE THIS SAME GUY THREATENED A CLIENT/CUSTOMER SAYING "They didn't tell you Suen the Nairaland is my friend. Bloody Idiot".

THE SCREENSHOTS ARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER ASKING FOR WHAT SHE PAID FOR SINCE 3 DAYS, OR A REFUND OF HER CASH. YOU WON'T BELIEVE THE INSULTS AND CURSES THAT LINED UP IN OVER 5 SCREENSHOTS DIRECTED FROM THIS MAN TO HIS CUSTOMER, WHOSE ONLY REPLY ALL THROUGH WAS "AMEN".

I HAVE CONCLUDED THAT THIS KEVIN GUY MUST BE DERANGÈD AFTER SEEING WHAT I SAW TODAY. HE MUST BE PREVENTED FROM MAKING MORE PEOPLE LOSE MONEY TO HIS MADNESS.
The reporting function is one lazy feature on NL. I've had rule compliant posts deleted and had to contact mods for reinstatement, though they refused to reinstate a whole thread of mine without giving reason. Its meant a reduction of my investment, unfortunately, but I'm certain the fraudsters must put more money in seun's pocket than my sort. It is a business after all

Please can you post evidence of mods deleting posts of complainants as this is not right and will need to be investigated?

Specifically, please put a link to the actual post (it will still exist as no posts can be completely deleted) and we can track the moderation logs.

Thanks
Not evidence of "mods deleting posts of complainants" per se, but of posts with accused names deleted.

Over 1800 nairalander's(people.following his recent thread) are at risk now at the hand of a chronic scammer. His by name Egbuta Kelvin. We met here like 7 months ago, he does e-currency exchange. I've bought some e-currency from him before now. To the extent that we became friends. Manytimes, I won't even bother to call or pm him about any transaction. I'll just send them.
Not knowing to me that it's because all those cash were stipends and he formed faithful just to get my trust. Not until 4th of April, 2017.. I sent $510 to him, in his response, he said his phone was stolen and he did not see the money I sent.
That's not a problem, let me see the screenshot of your transaction pane on payments... To my surprise he said, the man who stole his phone deleted the TRANSACTION HISTORY( Jesus Christ..so som1 can delete payoonerr transaction history.)
OK, I said send screenshots to me then... Not knowing that God was actually more than ready to expose him. He told me he wants to get to the cafe in order to get a screenshot. He arranged for another payment account, but unknown to him he had snap the part of customer id. So when he sent screenshots to me( I have them below) I did not see this then, not until days later. He felt the other account id was not shown, but it was..pls check the screenshot below very well.
Why did I wait this long to inform us, I wanted him to make a refund, but he insist he didn't do it. He can't answer how he sent a screenshot showing two different customer ID to me? Abi na d thief sent screen shot to me also.... Lool
The guy was clearly exposed. I felt he will right his wrong, but he won't. So for like 5 months now, I've tried.

Hmm, Kelvin might be ur friend today, but be rest assured he will hurt you tmao. If you cherish your hard earned cash. Don't mingle with Kelvin egbuta. He has threads related to fiverr here. Hmm, tread carefully.. D guy is dangerous. I don talk my own oooooo

Sorry to say this, but your story is all over the place and sloppy. You failed to mention private school teachers who are not being paid at all, and what teachers earn what you claim, and where.

My advise is, go to journalism school, or at least read a book about it.
