SarkinYarki:No country has put a timeframe on lockdown! Everywhere is "we will look at the scientific evidence"! |
factormatt6:It is true! Our leaders don't care about us, so asking them to now care is an absurdity. But it's our fault. It is we who are misfits who don't care about ourselves or we would elect fit leaders who do care. Pity it takes a thing like this to point out the truth to us. And I hope we learn from it. |
factormatt6:You could have gone and found out like Ross Kemp is doing! But I do find it amusing that you ask me to justify my pay. Do you mean the February pay that we are still hoping they pay us? Believe me when I say if I considered the pay, or rather, the non-payment, I'd justifiably infect you myself! |
factormatt6:There are almost 200m Nigerians. You, are not special! Or were you not here when this thing started and our doctors decided to go on strike? Smart people would have reasoned that their life must be in their own hands, but you think we care. We have told you how to protect yourself. Self isolate! Or get your ass over to a hospital and be tested. And if you want us to do better next time, make sure you elect competent leaders who care! |
Freelane33:If the person "testing" NCDC feared God he would not have called us and lied! Next time, go to a proper hospital where you will not almost slap nurses, but if you are still inclined to slap nurses, please go ahead. We will just add 'nurse slapping' to your bill. |
factormatt6:I am inadequate, but you do not deserve my professionalism and I am not defending anything. In fact, I'm attacking you! You had no symptoms but lied! Ordinary answering your call took us away from attending real ill people while you were "testing" if we consider you important enough to come and save you, in this our Nigeria at that! I hope you never catch Corona Virus, but if you do, make sure you borrow someone elses phone when you call us because its likely we will no more be taking timewaster's calls! |
Every country is observing restrictions on movement for as long as “our scientific advisers declare they are necessary”, but trust some Nigerians to expect bubu to know when this would end! I do agree that more should be done to ameliorate the hardship though, but last time I checked, I'm sure we Nigerians don't do socialism in our capitalist nation. Or have we changed our minds like now Socialist America has? |
Lamanii22:Even in Europe, 911 isn't working like it used to. You'd be told to self isolate and call back if your condition deteriorates, and some have died while waiting. |
factormatt6:Its a chance we take, you infecting others on the way to the hospital. There's already infected people not showing symptoms so that danger already exists. If after all that though, it turns out you were lying and had no symptoms and were ok, you must be glad we did not ask for your contact details or we would definitely have paid you a visit for thinking this is a time for silly juvenile pranks! |
I am proud of you! You and your neighbourhood took responsibility for your safety while some will be waiting for overstretched and don't care police to come and protect them instead. Welldone! |
Someone needs to tell him he disrespected Nigerians by not observing stay at home and lockdown! |
So, did you visit the hospital or were you just testing NCDC? Please know that we at NCDC get many crank calls like your's. Testing is how we weed out the numskulls who make them, and some we get arrested for wasting our time in these difficult for everyone days. |
Fear God? Please why was this idiot not thrown in jail? |
Hey! What ever did happen to that amotekun thing? Did it catch Corona Virus and just die? |
Chapter and verse please. Show some evidence. |
You have money to travel out the country but now want government money to pay for your return from Covid19 infested countries without testing first so you can come and infect the rest of us back home with our not quite up to it medical service? Diasporians should get travel insurance before travelling out the country! You are no more special than those of us who stayed home! |
Yujin:Sorry Yujin, but I dont think it is logical to claim "they're the only people who had the power to fix Nigeria" when you know "they all failed because they don't have what it takes (the power to fix Nigeria) to do it". If they had the power (which includes the knowledge and the ability), to fix Nigeria, they would have fixed Nigeria, but most would agree with you that "they l failed", so I can not agree that they had the power, not to talk of "absolute power", which they definitely did not have since more powerful beings kicked them all out. |
Tianamen1:Its a chicken an egg conundrum at best. You seem to think "well funded public education systems" started economic development, when the truth is, in most countries, privately educated individuals fought for "well funded public education systems" for all and that fueled their development. Or do you seriously believe the stupid and ignorant who "love their fantastically corrupt leaders who use bullion vans to share cash to them and provide stomach infrastructure in the form of rice, eba and egusi" care about "well funded public education systems"? Tianamen1:Indeed " education goes beyond learning Maths and English". I'll add, critical thinking, and being able to converse intelligently even while not in agreement, amongst many other things, like being able to find funds to set up a generator assembling plant in Nigeria just as Steve Jobs did, and Obama too. Jobs and Obama would not have been able to achieve what they did if they did not have the knowledge, gained through learning, to overcome the numerous difficulties they faced before achieving their goals. |
RuudVanNisteroy:Sorry, but good governance is not the responsibility of government since government itself is a responsibility of the citizens, in a democracy, at least. It is the citizens, the electorate, that elects the government, so you cannot abdicate responsibility if the elected government is incompetent. As for education, I think it is absurd to expect those who benefit from keeping you ignorant, stupid and poor to be responsible for educating you. If I were them, I think I will ensure I educate you to be even more stupid, ignorant and poor so that I may further realise my ambition to exploit you. Please note that it is the responsible people of Rwanda, Botswana and Namibia that "invested in the leaders of tomorrow" which they today benefit from and which you envy. If we too start "investing in the leaders of tomorrow" (by educating ourselves and our children instead of hoping some government would educate them for us despite all the evidence to the contrary), we too will reap the same reward when that tomorrow becomes today. |
Shormiey:After all, I get data and I get mouth, you intelligently observant person. |
Tianamen1:Moghalu did not stand a chance. The work to make him stand a chance had not been done and we are here now deciding if we shall do the work to make his like stand a chance but unfortunately many are claiming they failed already. Come 2023, we'd therefore likely have another "clown" as President because nations only can get the leaders they work for and deserve. |
If anything, this is showing Enahoro as a serial offender who needs to be serially pardoned. Buhari pardoned him for alleged crimes committed circa 1983, and not for those he allegedly committed and was pardoned for in '63. |
Drfernandez:I do think otherwise since I have not found all men have the same attitude. Even sons don't always have their father's attitudes. |
Tianamen1:Personally, I think parents should be responsible for their child's education, especially since government does not seem inclined to. I guess I'm well into personal responsibility, and not its abrogation. If I can't educate my child I should consider not adding to the pool of "stupid and poor people" who "love their fantastically corrupt leaders who use bullion vans to share cash to them and provide stomach infrastructure in the form of rice, eba and egusi". Educated people usually find ways to provide for their own "stomach infrastructure" without having to rely on "fantastically corrupt leaders who use bullion vans to share cash". |
Monjerk:It was rather unfortunate that the choice was between bubu and Atiku. I think we elected the lesser of two evils. And I think it was impossible to elect Atiku. But 2023 is around the corner. If we do nothing we deserve whomever the poor and the stupid impose on us. |
gidgiddy:I think we have many steps before we can start "organising a referendum". Don't we first have to get power into the hands of those who would help us organise a referendum, if that's what we want? |
RuudVanNisteroy:Then it seems we should first start by "funding education" and thereby reducing the "stupid people" don't you think? Perhaps by organising like those "mafia syndicate" "they" who "want to keep population stupid and poor" so "it makes them easier to manipulate and outnumber the educated and smart people". We can not claim to be "educated and smart people" if the "stupid and poor" can better organise and rule over us. As individuals, we surely can fund our own individual education, or can we not? |
JerryGent1983:That was my question! But I seem to be being told they have failed before even starting! By working with RuudVanNisteroy who proposed him, I hoped. But it seems he's decided to fail before we even begin. If he had stood firmly behind his man, same way those who put the "Tinubus, El-Rufais, Atikus and other jokers that will keep the country fantastically corrupt" on the mantle of power, which is by campaigning and appealing to the majority and getting whoever we want elected. If some Nigerians who "love their fantastically corrupt leaders who use bullion vans to share cash to them and provide stomach infrastructure in the form of rice, eba and egusi" can get their jokers elected, we smarter people (and I'm hoping we are smarter), should be able to beat them even "with this Nigeria Electoral system", and elect those who would help us get "electricity, portable water, sanitation network and hospitals" that we seem to want. |
IamMichael:About 300 to 500 years behind, actually, the Christian part anyway. We are only just reading the book and believing it. In another 100 or so years, we might begin to understand that Jesus was a freethinker too who was crucified for being an atheist and a 'use your senses' scientist, and in another 100 we might start to do greater things than he is written to have done. |
Do all men have the same attitude? |
RuudVanNisteroy:You are not the only Nigeria needing counselling having witnessed in Nigeria. First time I saw the place I was like, can we go back to Dakar, Conarkry, Freetown or any other capital along Africa's west coast. But Nigeria was the new home. Claiming you failed before you begun is defeatist and can not possibly be the attitude of the citizens of the country you escaped to, which likely had a rough history too before becoming a country that is safe and secure for you and your children. I bet it was developed that way by its citizens, and must have taken quite a lot of blood and lifes to build too. If you care, and if you want to see and believe Nigeria can get better, then you would need to stop thinking you have failed before starting to do whatever you might have to do to make Nigeria get better. |
