We Nigerians will change our ways when we finally decide to dislike being described this way. |

mosho2good: This made me smile. *Women, Be Conscious of What You Teach Our Children*
My 3 year old child sang about 5 prayer songs yesterday's morning, all centered on praising her mother and asking Allaah to help, bless and reward her. She mentioned so many wonderful things that her mother has done.I waited for my own share of the prayers and praises, but nothing. Not even once did she mentioned me - the father.
The only place where I fit in was the third song where she used the word "parent". I listened to all without saying a word. God kukuma dey.
Later in the day, my daughter was playing naughty. Her mother cautioned her several times, but she continued being naughty. When the mother saw that the child was not listening, she told her: "if you don't stop, I'll call you daddy for you now. " I was listening from my room. When the child persisted again, her mother echoed the threat again : "Your dad is coming with cane. He will beat you if you don't stop being naughty. " that's where I com vex. "So na me be terrorist abi?" I bellowed as I angrily walked out from the bedroom. You taught your child the song on how to praise you, love you, pray for you and see the good in you. You even told her about how you carried her in your womb for 9 months, backed her, fed her and sacrificed so much. But for her dad, he is that monster that roars like a lion, beat with fury and deserved to be feared. My child should pee in the pant at my arrival, jitter and become leafy when she see me. Àbí bẹ́ẹ̀ kọ́?"
Dear mothers
Abeg, let the children know that we too contributed our quota to their moral, spiritual and social developments as Allaah has enjoined. Let the children know that we are their friends, well wisher, helper, advisers, financial supporters and not just some whip holding tyrants. Let them know that their fathers pay their school fees, put food on the table, pay for their clothes, shoes and bags, He pays for the house they live, pays a lot of bills and had to risk his life, work his times out and burn lots of energies in the hot sun to meet all these needs.
Bin Tin Laye Fathers too should not leave the education of their children to the mother, and learn to teach their children songs too. |

Good development, though, would “The current administration not spare any effort in protecting the rights of women, children, the vulnerable and indigent residents of the state, irrespective of gender and religion” if “the parents of the girl, who are Jehovah’s Witnesses" had not had "medical insurance"?
If so, how is LASG "protecting the rights of women, children, the vulnerable and indigent residents of the state" who can not afford medical care? |

Still, sorry about your loss. Remember that you bought this dog to learn, so learn and go get a new dog. |

nograv: Nonetheless, shouldnt we have an economy that can have an arms budget that makes America think twice before attacking us??
The US may threaten China, but they know they cannot take China head on..
We should be in the same boat. I always say, if the British wanted Nigeria back as a colony, would we be able to stop them?
As it stands the answer is NO. China and India by contrast would be able to repeal the British today.
We should be at their level.. Pigs fly in the "should world". Unfortunately, we live in the real world where one only reaps what one sows. If we sowed what China and India sowed, we'd be reaping what China and India reap, but we don't. Thankfully, the British don't want us today. They couldn't even afford to keep us when they did. China and India have been at it for over 2000 years though, while we are younger than America. |

Dottore: Would it not have been better if they use 50percent of their military spendings to aid countries that are in extreme poverty.
The truth is that as long as there's life on planet earth, there will always be threats of war and tensions. It has been always like that from post world War 2. World leaders know that the collateral damage of full scale war is so enormous. They'd do everything possible to avoid it. No war is starting anytime soon. The reason they don't "use 50percent of their military spendings to aid countries that are in extreme poverty" is there is huge profit in war. Which is probably why we'd have one, that and the fact that Trump needs to stick his chest out more, or rather, his willie. To put it in perspective, compare US spending on ac to Nigeria's total electricity usage in dollars.

dudebuck: all the US has to do is arm Iranians, and these ones will do the job of bringing the Ayatollahs down. Like they do and did in Panama, Columbia, Mexico, Iraq, Cuba, Yemen, Somalia, Afghanistan, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, to name but a few. We all agree its for "humanitarian reason", the benefit of Iran: and not that of the profit seeking arms dealers?
