Chidorx60:You can make up who you want me to be if you so wish and if that is your concern here. I am not here to peddle my own righteousness or lack of thereof. You might want to read about hubris here. |
Shepherd00:No one is suggesting the death is physical, Shepherd, please get with the program! The question I pose here is whether God goes about spiritually killing sinners, or whether the sin itself is the spiritual killer. |
Some let God down when they refuse to use their God given brains. Personally, when I'm told a book is the Word of God, it means I should pay special attention to the words that make up the book because God might be packing in a thousand meanings into words that human me might think has one single meaning. Jesus did after all warn me to abandon my preconceived ideas and look at things afresh. How can one then claim to be a Christ follower if one were a full blown knowitall adult? "Pray with all your Heart, with all your Soul, with all your Mind and with all your Strength" would indeed mean all the things you listed above, orunto27, and to it would I add, "learn", "study", "love" and the suchlike, though you've implied them all above. A gathering of learned Godly people would not only say "Let there be light", they would know where the switch of enlightenment is and also how to turn it on so that it will be said "And there was Light". Happy Sunday orunto27. We will continue to be enlightened and enlightening. |
Chidorx60:You mean, "it makes no sense to you", and so be it. You would not be the first to elevate the Bible to God status and bow down and worship it instead of reading and understanding what is written in it. If you did you would understand the Power of the Word and would not dare disobey the following rule! Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness [of any thing] that [is] in heaven above, or that [is] in the earth beneath, or that [is] in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God [am] a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth [generation] of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. |
Chidorx60:Don't advise me. It is very clear that the wages of sin is death, but God does not go about killing sinners so I don't know why anyone would be peddling some juvenile theology as if the person they talk to were two years old! If you can't communicate on adult level do let me know. |
Chidorx60:Why should I reread my own post again when I wrote it, read it and posted it? Does it not make sense to you, or just don't you like the sense it makes? You read it and tell me what you understand by it. |
finalboss:I happen to know you are intelligent, and not lazy. Is it not true that what is written there are the words of some human? Would you in fact deny that it is the sort of thing that the sort of lazy person I responded to here might write? Have you been infected with that persons disease? Explain to me where God was involved. |
finalboss:You lie sir! The Bible never said anything! What you have is what someone wrote in a book called the Bible and which you read and now claim was an action by God. |
frankkydee:Op should be commended for the inspiration. I would not have thought of them otherwise. |
solite3:Somehow, I expect you to claim all bank robbers are atheists. It would be the sort of lazy statement you'd make! Did we not send you to school to learn the difference between right and wrong work? Did your parents not teach you the difference between good work and bad work? Are you just so antiwork solite3 that you refused to learn when we taught you the difference between good proper work and work that you should not do? |
solite3:How can you possibly understand if you do no work to understand enough to see that you lack the ability to have a coherent discussion because you have done no work to develop the ability to understand what is being said? There are a lot of people without God who have morals. If you did some research [work] you would know this. You would also learn [work] why it is wrong to kill just by exercising [work] your brain. You, for instance, would not like it if you were killed, and killing people is not exactly a thing most societies condone. But if you doubt me, go and kill someone and see what we'd do to you whether God exists or not. You'd find that what ever you lazily decide to think up in your brain is irrelevant. |
RyanD147:Is hijab full regalia for its wearers? |
Would you be faithful if your partner were imprisoned for life? Would you ask your partner to be faithful if you were imprisoned for life? |
Harvard School (USA) does not exist so I can't see why you'd link it to Harvard Business School, but that's exactly the trick, to make you make such associations. I therefore pronounce this as further research required. Thread with caution.
|
I wonder why the court would not allow a class action suit. Would they deny some from wearing the hijab and allow some to wear it? And UIIS self with their antihijab stance! I wonder why they are threatened by it. Would they not better achieve their goal by educating these kids about the hijab? |
MrPresident1:I don't see why I should ponder on you taking me where I would be slayed. I'm not some child whom you would scare with the boogeyman. And by the way, the name is budaatum. buda, for short. |
solite3:I don't quite understand why you'd ask this when you know you would starve to death and be incapable of worshipping anything at all if you do not work.
|
solite3:One must work to understand, for understanding will not drop like manna on the lazy. And I do not agree that there can be no morality without God, though, I suppose you might need to explain further. Do you mean those without God can not have morals, or that morality itself cannot exist if there were no God? |
Please muttley. Speak in English and imagine I am a child. Why say "fear" if you mean something else? MuttleyLaff: |
Pity she was represented. Goes to show her concern is not as weighty as she says it is, at least, not at the moment. We shall see if her concern grows over time and what she does about it.
|
It is rather funny how some focus on a single verse in a massive book and disregard just about every other related verse in the same book. Vāde ad formīcam, ō piger, et consīderā viās eius, et disce sapientiam.
|
MuttleyLaff:It may be the beginning, but I doubt fear is that necessary perhaps because I understand fear to mean, 'be afraid of', and somehow, fear and the wise don't mix in my head. Why should I be afraid of the Lord God Almighty? Would I teach my child to be afraid of the Lord to gain knowledge and wisdom, or would I teach my child to learn God's ways instead? Do you teach your children fear, muttley? |
Thanks for warning them op and others. Those who heed not the advice will come here to testify how their lives got screwed up by the abundance of their own hearts in due time because even if no one searches their posts they themselves will parade their own rotten fruits where it matters. |
MrPresident1:I am under the impression you separate the two or have a juvenile attitude to God. Grown up very wise Jesus Christ the Messiah never feared the Lord God Almighty so why should one fear the Father in heaven? Would one gain knowledge and wisdom by being afraid? Is a fearful person wise? |
Sheunma:It was with great restraint that I did not rip into Sheunma more than I did when the above was said, but I now feel I must go back and apologise for not restraining myself more with what is seeming like the complete dispensation of tbe brain and the mind but also the lack of holy spirit guidance by some so called Christians. Below is my response. budaatum:Don't make me have to go back and apologise and accept Sheunma was correct and you, "Matter of fact, dispense completely with your brains and mind and submit your neck" to stupidity! |
solite3:Its called confirmation bias. You want what you believe to be true so you believe it and its true. Tempts me to ask how old you are. I know a five year old who would tell you aren't reasoning right. |
Maximus69:Why is it extremely difficult (for you) to learn from Jesus? Are his teachings not clear enough for you? |
MrPresident1:You do know this thread is for you to consider what you might think, right? Is wisdom, for you, living in fear? |
solite3:If someone claimed they believe the universe was created by Oniwiginije because they read it in the 'Profound Book of the Creation of All Things According to Oniwiginije' that Oniwiginije created all things, would you accept it is true? But that is not the issue here. The issue is you thinking your belief proves the existence of the Lord God Almighty as if God is a creation of your mind, when the Lord God Almighty stands whether you believe or not, and your thinking God, who is said to have created humans in God's own image, would not be subject to laws its creation is. |
blackboy:I think he is for real. Hear his stupidity in his own words: BigBashiru:Does he not sound like a person who expected to reap where he did not sow and therefore reaped exactly what he sowed which was nothing? Where in this individuals Bible did he read that "Benny is God"? |
