Education is the solution. We are all affected by the tribal hatred and it's not something imposed on us. When we understand we are the instigators of hatred and all suffer it's consequence we will adopt new ways of looking at things.

It does not change the fact that the bible is filled with myths. Influence is not validity.
And no one is arguing validity with you. The fact remains that religion, whether valid or not is highly influential in just about all societies. You yourself show religious influence on yourself by not being able to consider that Mary was well read and must have taught her son. Angel my ass, says I!

No I didn't. And I'm not going to. The answers are all around you so I will not bother. And it's got nothing to do with a specific religion but the ignorance of humans who think it wise to suppress the abilities of half its population.

Sometimes Buhari economic direction is contradictory, you ban forex on food but provide forex on petrol and even subsidize it. Foriegn imported food must compete with local food evenly. Why then do you subsidize petrol.
I am hoping the oil subsidy is removed though I know there are forces that would oppose it. Price will shoot through the roof at first then settle as more petrol is imported due to the profit to be made then prices will drop through oversupply. Government just has to police collusion and price fixing.

My bubu! Remove petrol subsidy!

I also read mythical stories, fairy stories for entertainment and learn something from it, I don't take them to be real or historical like religious people take their fairy stories to be real and even divine.
And that's what's smart about you tingz. Instead of believing the stories like some do, you learn from them. But you must also have compassion for those who are not as intelligent as you are. If they did not read at all they would be a lot more ignorant than they currently are and that would frustrate you more.

No ban on food items, but you should source your own fx to import items like rice, milk etc.You don't expect gvt to subsidize your fx to import what can be locally produced here.Smart guys will now be looking at local rice production n processing.Milk can also be produced from ranching etc

“Don’t give a cent to anybody to import food into the country,” the president said, according to a statement from his spokesman, who added that “the foreign reserve will be conserved and utilised strictly for diversification of the economy, and not for encouraging more dependence on foreign food import bills”.

The central bank has not said whether it will follow the directive and did not respond to a request for comment.

Analysts said that instead of inspiring a renaissance of Nigerian agriculture, the foreign currency import ban would create food shortages, drive further smuggling, and send prices higher.

My bubu is saying, instead of paying farmers in other countries with our money to produce the food you eat, go and produce the food for yourself! And of course prices will rise. But that would be to the benefit of local producers who will earn more for their labour! Or is it that you like poverty so much?

In which society/countries do fewer girls go to school compared to boys? You have to be specific. Do fewer girls go to school because societies makes laws that limit the number of girls going to school? Or is it just coincidence not discrimination? What exactly do you think is stopping more girls from going to school?

Really! grin You didn't even erroneously say girls inherit less than boys instead you went for the extreme. Where don't girls get inheritance? You have to be specific. Did society make rules that girls can't get inheritance? What's stopping girls from getting their inheritance?
I think you are just trying to drown this in needless argument 39. You know very well that there are many parts of our country where fewer girls to school, and there are numerous societies in our own Nigeria where women do not inherit. You just need to read comments of potential girl parents on this thread to know that it is deliberate and due to parental ignorance.

Martinez39:
This is a shocker! Can you list these discriminatory marriage rules? Can you list the names of these companies?
A lot of companies in Nigeria insist colleagues cannot marry each other while working for the company. First Registrars and Investor Services Limited is of personal experience. It is the woman who tends to be the one who has to resign, though I do have one experience of a lawyer reigning for his accountant wife.

Martinez39:
Most religions are misogynistic
And most societies are religious!

Martinez39:
So can we really attribute how Jesus life turned out to Mary? If you insist that it was Mary's effort, can you also say Joseph didn't instruct Jesus through the Holy Spirit?
Yes you can attribute Jesus's education to very well read Mary if you can read and understand.

How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?”

The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.

Do note that Joseph did not have a clue and Jesus was not the Messiah of wood.

Martinez39:
NB: Jesus, Mary and Joseph never existed. The bible is a book filled with myths.

Both of you are right.

They are myths.

Why are they myths, because they have little or no evidences. They are stories/folklores made up or stories distorted with fairytales.
I agree. The trick is to figure out the underlying message lost in the mythical fairytale. It's there somewhere.

Besides, only the stupid discard stories because they are mythical fairytales. The intelligent still read Aesopica and One Thousand and One Nights because there's a lot to learn from them still.

Fewer girls go to school than girls - that's being reversed in the West. More girls than guys are graduating right now. So guys are the new oppressed elsewhere.
And the reason is? Feminism! The successful fight for equality in countries where we are winning the battle! Woman is eating the fruits of knowledge now!

ANALYSIS SHOWS BOYS STILL FAR BEHIND GIRLS AT SCHOOL (SUMMARY OF UK A-LEVEL AND GCSE RESULTS)

ubunja:
Girls don't inherit property - as long as marriages exist this will never be an issue.
I'm telling you it's an issue. Marriage should not determine whether your daughter inherits your property or not. In fact, Insha allah, you will not soon die! By the time we allow you to have a daughter, we will have won this inheritance battle and your daughter will inherit your property!

ubunja:
Most companies have marriage rules than descriminate against women - of course. When women marry they wanna stay at home and make babies. Who wanna invest 10 yrs grooming a woman who'll walk away soon as she gets married?
Seriously? Pig! Who told you women want to stay at home and have babies? Have you not heard of maternity leave, or do you think it is maternity retirement?

I'm telling you that you will invest in your daughter's education despite all this nonsense you are saying because you really are not as stupid as you want us to believe you are!

ubunja:
Most religions show women in negative light - because women really are the reason the human race is fallen. No amount of women's rights will change that.
I think I need to ignore you in future, your ignorance is too profound! Man writes that woman eats the fruit of knowledge of good and evil, woman's eyes open to the state of naked slavery she and her man are kept under by the tyrant who lied and enslaved them, they are freed to the reality of existence and in your own puny mind, it's a fall!

Sit there while we eat more fruit of knowledge of good and evil and put your ignorant self in the garden of enslavement you deserve to be!

ubunja:
That last part about Mary is just you farting.
I expect no less from a pig! They always refuse to use their mind and think. No wonder woman has to free you from enslavement! The Lord God Almighty will bless you with a Mary!

My claim from the beginning of this thread is that God never told nor gave anyone a reason for what God did, and that what we read in the quoted text is precisely one person's opinion about what happened and God never killed anyone, not even those you listed, which is the equivalent of the history of Biafra as written by the conquering looters!

Shepherd00:
Well, to humans, it may seem petty and repugnant, but it won't be to God. The Native dwellers of these lands were wiped out by God because they were so evil: The Amorites, the Canaanites, the Jebusites,
the Girgasites, the Hivites, the Arkites, the Sinites Hittites, the Amalakites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Arvadites, the Zemarites, the Hamathites a lot of other tribes.

Anyone who feels it was or is repugnant for Him to kill whom he chooses, should dictate to God how to Administrate his earth. After all, He finished creating everything on earth before creating Man, so that Man won't brag and say, 'We did it together'.

My eight book, and no, I have not forgotten, it's just that I had to read it first, but before I go into that, I'll diverge.

I used to keep a list of books I read, but vanity made me stop some 30 years ago since it seemed like something to boast about. However, this thread has made me go back to consider some of my readings and I do wish I'd continued with the list as I'm finding some books have had such a profound influence on me that is scary, and I can't imagine the hundreds that might continue to influence me though I can't even remember reading them. My second book is a case to note. Even though I could not remember its title or author, reading it again showed it had become part of me and I'm now considering translating it into Yoruba. Op, thanks for this thread.

I began 'reading', or rather, listening to my eight book early this month and must say that despite my vast reading of history and philosophy, this one has educated me and completely blown my mind! Who knew Africa has so much philosophy! Its a podcast, which means you can download it onto your phone and listen to it while you get on with something else. And I must say that if I had a say in the matter, it would be required reading for every African as it would eliminate quite a lot of ignorance about our philosophical heritage.

Book Title: History of Africana Philosophy

Author: Peter Adamson, Jonardon Ganeri, Chike Jeffers

I've included a snapshot of my vanity below. And please note that my last few books would be as delayed as this one as I'm struggling to decide between quite a number of books which my last two would be!
