Today, some of the books that shaped my life—and the lives of so many others—are being challenged by people who disagree with certain ideas or perspectives. And librarians are on the front lines, fighting every day to make the widest possible range of viewpoints, opinions, and ideas available to everyone.
118k likes and counting. Would you rather only your viewpoints, opinions, and ideas be available to everyone or is it that you think that any one who sees dogs barking will bark like dogs like you do? |

basilico: Do you to think these barking adults are ritualistic ... To be honest I don't think much about barking adults. It's why I ignore you and si when you bark. I refuse to allow my thinking to be consumed by your si-idity. I prefer that non-barking adult humans learn to resist the barking dogs and teach their children to resist them too. An informed adult will not chose barking school for their child, and if barking were sneaked in to school and taught by dogs, an informed child would still resist barking.

plaindealer: To start with, your post was a rant simply because it is common sense that if you must opine that the cost is high, then you must have a detailed explanation and deep knowledge to share with us from your own experience in the power industry from the cost of labor, pre-project infrastructures, cost of fees and permits, cost of equipment, cost of importation and transportation of equipment, power management cost, cable and transmission cost, cost of power transformers, billing and power management cost and so on, once you are able to show us your own detail facts, then compare against this project for us to see.
See, all you people do is just run your mouth, you know nothing about anything, I cannot go to your house and say your house cost too much to build when in fact I know nothing about your house or the kind of material you used, your personal specifications whatever personal detail that the onlooker from outside cannot see. Thanks for plain dealing with those who know not that they know not. "Deep knowledge and own experience in the power industry" will likely gulp a quatre of the investment to date, since hiring such people ain't cheap. # muddyeyes |

Would you rather the gay people be allowed to adopt children The gay people who have already been found guilty of child molestation, basilico? No, bas, I would rather those gay people (and any other sort of people who have been found guilty of child molestation) not be allowed to adopt children, and I am glad those gay people would not be allowed to adopt children because you can't adopt children if you are found guilty of sexual assault and or are in jail. |

Ayomivic: WHY IS IT THAT OUR LEADERS CAN'T LEAD BY EXAMPLE.?
We are teaching our children in school that a leader must lead by example but that is obviously lies to what our leaders in Nigeria are doing. Perhaps, our children have not learned whom to follow because they are not taught what to follow. My point is, why blame the leaders when it's their followers who are dumb and stupidly following them? That said, I am aware that our children do learn what to follow on the whole and do follow it which is why they are succeeding. I must say though that in order to complete your education wherever, a trip outside Nigeria is essential. |
Politics › Re: Igbos Are Paying For The Corruption, Greediness And Criminality Of Azikwe- IPOB by budaatum: 5:21pm On Jul 16, 2023 |
This makes for good history, and is the reason I do not accept the splitting of Nigeria. Why were the Southern regions eagerly seeking an alliance with the North? Because at the Ibadan Constitutional Conference, the North argued that given their size and population, they were entitled to half of the seats in the upcoming Central House. They were right. The North was three times the size of the Western and Eastern regions put together. As regards population, they were more numerous too. Bola Ige once disputed this claiming throughout West Africa population decreases as you go upwards toward the desert. But unlike all other countries, as you go upwards Nigeria increases more sideways that upwards. Also the annual tax receipts per head from the North were far more than South’s. The North therefore held the majority vote in the House. And so however brilliant or beneficial your policies were, to have them authorised by the Central Government, you needed the votes of those the South were still sending clothes to cover their unclothedness. Even today, Southern senators sit shamelessly in the same chamber with incorrigible paedophile and child rapist discussing ’progress’ for the nation. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/opinion/164552-why-we-should-split-nigeria-now-by-damola-awoyokun.html The South did not want ignorant people as our neighbours so we educated them instead, was the policy then. Unfortunately, such times are now that we don't educate ourselves as much as we did. |

EcoNews: Do you ask for prove about all the foolish tales your tribesmen told about Awolowo MKO Buhari Sarduna Tunubu etc
Why is your foolish soul now seeking one about the colossus in failure Azikwe ? I am fully aware that some did not learn history in school, thankfully free education is here on Nairaland. Bakinwuta: Azikiwe (aka Zik of Africa) did not screw up anything. Everything was fine until Nzeogwu and Ironsi screwed it up. All regions of the country operated almost independent of the centre and developed at there own pace. While he led, Igbos still led the Nigeria in most areas.
What happened was someone in the name of Nzeogwu and gang got messed up and started a coup and later ignited a civil war.
A coup that saw the Igbos lose alot and politically lost the place people like Azikiwe built for them in the helm of things. Ironsi had a chance to right the wrong but as an opportunist, he decided to creat more problems by removing the regional autonomy the zones enjoyed. Even further nationalizing things to a fault. So spare Zik this propaganda and face the right culprits.
Zik was for Africa and not some village boy or dumb ass. He worked for Africa not even Nigeria and was a man of peace.
A tree does not make a forest .Your continued effort to spite people that represented peace for Africans will not make you better than this great leaders. They are way ahead of you in grace and legacy. They will be studied and remembered.
Folks like the Op and you on the other hand have only caused more hate, destruction and disharmony on to others. Nobody wants to remember people like you. Except to warn people what to avoid in the future.
None of you can achieve what Zik of Africa achieved, so spare the elders. They had there time and It is your time. To be frank you are all doing a terrible job and a mess of it that nobody will want to remember you. |
