Kobojunkie: The account given in the book of Acts of the road to Damascus event reveals that the men traveling with Paul heard the voice and saw the light. That part of the experience was not subjective, was it? https://www.nairaland.com/3257717/st-paul-root-christian-missionary#123496234 "Narrative One : This seems to have been told from the author's point of view", as in the subjective point of view of the author. "Narrative Two : This is as told by Paul himself", as in Paul's subjective after the fact narrative of the subjective experience he subjectively had. Note how the naratives differ showing even more subjectivity. Also, only Paul had the subjective experience of hearing a voice. No one else there understood any voice according to the naratives so it could not be objectively verified that there was a voice and Paul was not tripping. And the "For three days, Saul could not see; he did not eat or drink", was only subjectively experienced by Paul and no one else. P.s. This is my own subjective understanding of a subjective text and is not to be taken objectively since I never objectively recorded the objective showerhead.

Kobojunkie: Then we might as well conclude by that that every experience is subjective. Is that what you are driving at here then? .
Again, some of what Paul's experienced was corroborated by those around him meaning it was not entirely subjective. Every experience that is experienced by a subject is subjective. I.e. Pain of hammer hitting thumb. All reports of subject's experiences are subjective. I.e. subjects report of hammer hitting subject's thumb, since it is a subjective report of their subjective experience.. Corroboration by subjects (dem say), are subjective. I.e. reports by other subjects of hammer hitting subject's thumb since they did not subjectively experience the hammer subjectively hitting their thumb. The first link below is on objectivity but I could not access it on my device hence the second link too. Understanding the difference helps understand both. https://iep.utm.edu/objectiv/https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/scientific-objectivity/

Cyberterror: ASUU should go and sit down. Greedy busybodies. The student loan is meant for students not for lecturers. If there is anyone who should be reacting, it should be NANS and they have commended President Tinubu for the loan and all it entails. Actually, the student loan money is meant for lecturers who will be paid through the increase in fees the loans create. |

In Nigeria, over 99 per cent of goods exported from the country will automatically be eligible for duty-free access to the UK. Nigeria will receive enhanced preferential access for almost 3,000 products. E.g. 4.5 per cent removed on cocoa paste, 26.5 per cent removed on fruit juices, and 14 per cent removed on prepared tomatoes, the statement added. Womans only. Because I too is sexist. “It will benefit traders around the world, including women-owned businesses, which we are supporting through the UK Trade Partnership programme.”

pansophist: This is why traditionally, suitors are vetted by experienced family members (eg fathers, brothers, uncles,), to prevent women from falling to dubious men like this.
Women's mistakes are very expensive, and such dubious men in a bid to forcefully privatize a woman to themselves will impregnate her to reduce her options.
She could have escaped this if she was not having sex, or having sex with protections at least. Everything is timing, hence I said time is your best friend. If she was not pregnant for example, time would reveal this part of him that he is hiding, and your sister could just disengage easily.
But with a child involved, disengagement becomes very hard. This is exactly his target, and he has achieved that. It's a hard decision to make, but if I have to pick one, it would be for your sister to not be with him.
You cant trust such a man. He will have more dirty tricks in the future to play. Perhaps, marriage with your sister will become stale like his present one, and he will repeat the same process with another woman. Deserving of an award!

Check my siggy Why must state own farms? Can people not own farms by themself? The answer to your question though is because state can't run farms profitably. |

Oracle16: I am a strong supporter of Peter Obi and still believes he has the right to continue with his court case. However, I am very impressed with some of the steps Tinubu have taken so far. I also appreciate him for appointing an Igbo man as Chief of Naval Staff and I appreciate him more for appointing a Southern Kaduna Christian as Chief Of Defense.
Let me also use this opportunity to advise my fellow Obidients to support this government where it needs our support as we continue in the pursuit to retrieve Obi's mandate. Kindly note that this country is our own and we have to join hands to build it as it is now clear that Tinubu means well.
My advice to my fellow Igbos is to stay calm and be positive in our criticism. Everything will be fine las las. We are a blessed tribe already. https://www.nairaland.com/7730612/awa-lo-kan#123836414https://www.nairaland.com/7733062/tinubus-copycatting-obi-erase-dirty#123883517 |
