Janosky:Religion is unfortunately sometimes used as a means to hinder education. Take the story of Adam for instance. The lie that he would die if he nourished himself with fruits of knowledge was an attempt to keep him ignorant and naked and enslaved in the Garden of Eden and to ensure he did not consume the profit of the garden he toiled in. Not many teach Eve's story of checking whether what they'd been told was true or not. And in the process of checking, she gained sufficient knowledge to free herself and her dumb man from slavery and become self employed, where we read they went on to populate the earth and live to almost a thousand. Country's that understand Eve's actions build libraries everywhere and fund their schools well, while schools in Adam believing countries tend to be third world with substandard schools and only a few libraries if any.

triplechoice:If you found a way to ascertain it works, nothing is wrong with that at all. Just that we will ask you to provide us with the tests and studies you did to ascertain it works, and we will perform those tests ourselves to ascertain it works too. We wouldn't just take your word for it. "Herbal products in the market comes with this disclaimer" because it has not been proven to cure what they claim. Its like if you found a way to ascertain it works but refuse to provide evidence of your claim for scrutiny or scrutiny of your tests failed to ascertain what you claim you ascertained, when you bottle it to sell, we will insist you label it with "the claims of cure in this product is not yet proven", and that's provided you prove it's not toxic, in which case we shall not let you sell it all. Snake oil would come under that label except those who sell it leave it off to deceive. |
triplechoice:Oh, how disappointing. There was me literally thinking you had an extra eye in the middle of your forehead. |
triplechoice:This is just utter nonsense. If a remedy effects a cure, it has worked. And that work is the evidence of its efficacy. And scientist will search to discover why it works because that's what scientists do, they find causes for effects, and effects for causes. And if one scientist ignores that effect or cause, many others wouldn't so science can not ignore. But who goes looking for "no evidence it can effect a cure" just because "people are already using it everywhere to treat themselves with perfect results"? Hasn't research shown numerous so called cures that have had no effect despite the user claiming they have? Should objective evidence of a cure not be ascertained before you claim it works? I guess its to do with how your brain works. But I would however leave you with some wise words once uttered. https://www.nairaland.com/6589774/sandra-ezekwesili-prophet-tb-joshua/6#102467464 |
triplechoice:You will teach me through the wall with your third eyes no doubt. |
Funny that searching for 'critical reasoning' brings up a lot of India productions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kELXEwjqaF8 https://library.leeds.ac.uk/info/1401/academic_skills/105/critical_thinking

Kennyking1234:Why do you need serious convincing? If your parents can afford it then do that which your heart desires of course, but if you are not convinced, it's because your argument with yourself has not convinced you. Since your parents can afford it I suggest you continue where you and secure a hold on the one bird in your hands, and afterwards go catch the two birds in the bush called Rain and Robotics so you can have three birds. |
oteneaaron:I think you become more "how" you regularly think about what you think about too, and even moreso. Take me. I regularly think about religion and their gods but that does not make me a believer in imaginary gods, perhaps because of the sort of thinking that I do, as in how I think about what I think about. Humans must be "psychologically manipulated", and it doesn't need to be a tool for destruction but a tool for development and for growth too. An example would be the manipulation of Nigerians so they do not kill each other or drive on the walkway or that they take personal responsibility for their neighbourhoods or to not participate in corruption or even learn to read and write, because education of minds which is what non-destructive manipulation is, is the cheapest long term and beneficial method to achieve these desirable goals. Even punishment is just one part of tools to manipulate the mind so it achieves positive development The passage of certain ideas into the people’s minds is the purposeful and mindful and conscious goal of some. And though some may wrongly indoctrinate generations, a generation will arise that will critically consider what they are manipulated with, and "experience a transformation of thinking and the emergence of new political doctrines and religious ideologies that lead to the unification of thinking and behavior" and human progress will occur. It's how we evolve as a species after all.. You read the destructive side. The "Adam shall die" side. You must read the positive side called: Education AS A MECHANISM OF PSYCHOLOGICAL MANIPULATION IN THE PROCESS OF INVOLVEMENT IN Societal Development to confirm that constructive religious (and non-religious) organizations exist and use a more positive side of "manipulation" to achieve positive outcomes. Add critical thinking to the mix and people might positively manipulate themselves to become gods. |

basilico:I wanted to say you are too lazy to research why but noticed your source already said and you chose to cover you eye so you don't see. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/nov/30/peak-polluters-last-chance-close-dutch-government

triplechoice:Can you hear yourself presuming to be the only one here to have demystified what remains a mystery to you. Just about everyone on earth has a precognition of one sort or the other, from the precognition that a hammer would nail your ill-positioned finger to that woman you slept with without a condom will get pregnant all the way to the precognition you will fail if you do not study. Some even precognise that some shares they bought on the stock market will rise or tank and therefore take appropriate actions to advantage themselve, or that the plan they've devised will result in a 100 floor tower or that this particular rocket will land on Mars, but you think and want to continue to believe and want others to believe to that it's not their own brain precogniting when you manifest your so called ability to "see" through walls with your "third eye". But what's more at issue is how you've not used any scientific mode of presenting your non-evidence but expect your very subjective "dem say" and "you say" to be taken as objective evidence. Guess we'll see who it works on. Meanwhile, I'm giving you the critical reason award. You more than earned it.

triplechoice:I will quote you as much as I want actually and subjectively. |
DeLaRue: LikeAking:Really? Or would you like us to place you in a certain category? |
basilico:That's not the gritty gritty of anything and you know it isn't. They were both not allowed to own guns, basilico. Both were disallowed. Both then committed crimes of lying on federal paper. One copped a deal having had no priors. The other went to jail because he was on parole. I did ask you to show me you understand what parole is but you played ostrich so you wouldn't see it sitting on your mind which is what buda intends to train myself to play with you henceforth.

CodeTemplar:Maybe I don't see it your way because I don't make or sell crude oil. When I come back from selling my own now cheap product in international market due to naira devaluation, I will return to Nigeria with my foreign currency and sell it in the Nigeria market and buy Naira because Nigerian pepper, rent and school fees is not priced in dollar/pound/euro, and unless I'm mistaken, the inflow of my foreign currency benefits the economy because I will make profit and hire more people to expand my business and make more profit and hire more people and I might even consider paying a fairer wage one day. |
basilico:No, basilico, you can't just close your eyes to facts and evidence and "Probation aside". When you disregard established verifiable pertinent facts and evidence like that, serious people will disregard you and say you don't know how to use your brain and decide that further conversation with you is time wasting and pointless. |
Poanan:Payrise! Payrise! And scrap NYSC! |
CodeTemplar:Devaluation of our currency, less dollar for Naira, means buyers can come to Nigeria and buy in cheaper Naira. Crude oil is after all not all we sell, we sell lots more other stuff in Naira whereby buyer comes to Nigerian market having converted dollars to naira, though you'd be amazed how little Made in Nigeria you'd find on European streets. E so little I once planned to patent the phrase. Crude oil is not selling at current prices with Russia discounting, so a devaluation of our currency is like a prize cut so it flies out the barrel. Meanwhile, Nigerians are reskilling to make it. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/jun/16/nigeria-economy-stocks-and-cost-of-living-soar-bola-tinubu-policies

basilico:Conrad Black got 46 months because he committed his crime while on probation for another crime. Basilico. Before you say a single word show me you know how probation works please. |
LikeAking:This Maria should bloody know her place and stay there or she'll be moving to Zimbabwe! https://invezz.com/news/2023/06/21/as-the-nigerian-naira-plunges-is-it-the-next-zimbabwe-dollar/

basilico:"While on probation", you conveniently deviously failed to add.

OkpaNsukkaisBae:An unbeliever is a person who does not believe. I must admit that there seems to be an age caveat though. Like: Young - believe perhaps; older - disbelieve and know! |
Curvinus:Meanwhile, exports are cheaper because foreign buyers need less dollars for more Naira, which increases our sales and increases demand for workers to make things which increases wages to attract better workers who's quality of life improves. Sorry, but I'm throwing consumers under the bus. They need a pay rise to count. |
Starz825:One woman didn't love one man you. Stop generalising. |
Any one know how much the last lot got paid? Would be good to compare. |
LordReed:He doesn't know. He just wants to test if others know. |
KnownUnknown:Ah, that's what's missing. Insufficient heresy. If you had more heresy it would glow like light the earth will tremble and only you will see it.. |
