Maynman:Like I said, you don't know what one knows. The following is from your link: Serapis was a blend of the Egyptian gods Osiris and Apis with the Greek god Zeus (and others) to create a composite deity who would resonate with the multicultural society Ptolemy I envisioned for Egypt. Was Jesus not created as a composite deity from a blend of the Tanakh God and various others to resonate with the multicultural society of its day? And, what's my name, May?
|
feedthenation:This will hopefully extend to the last campaign too. |
Maynman:And I guess that somehow must bother you since you want to be the only one talking. |
Maynman:You can show me and everyone else reading that my "questions stem from ignorance" by responding to them with your own lack of ignorance because you just saying so does not make it so. Read below about the invention of Serapis, or shall I say, the evolution of the idea of Serapis from ideas that preceded it. You might even notice how the church fathers are not the first to introduce an idea, or God, as they call them. Serapis (Sarapis, Zaparrus) was an invented god. He was a composite of several Egyptian and Hellenistic deities who was introduced to the world at the beginning of the Ptolemaic (Greek) Period in Egypt during the reign of Ptolemy I, though his legacy lasted well into the Roman period. Thus, he was meant to form a bridge between the Greek and Egyptian religion in a new age in which their respective gods were bought face to face with each other, so that both Egyptians and Greeks could find union in a specific supreme entity.https://www.britannica.com/topic/Serapis Now go read in the Tanakh about the invention and evolution of Yahweh.

Maynman:Says you, lol, while ignoring all the questions I posed so you can use the brain in your head. May, have a nice day. |
Maynman:Why would you'd claim "Jesus is a transliteration which LITERALLY means yahweh saves/delivers" if Jesus "has nothing to [do] with tanakh"? Is the Tanakh not about Yahweh anymore? Why would your so called "the early church fathers" put words from the Tanakh into the mouth of the Jesus Christ you claim they created if the Jesus Christ they created "has nothing to [do] with tanakh"? Maynman:So, Judaism, where Nicene Christianity originate (evolved) from was rejected by all notion of Jews?Does that rejection mean Christianity did not originate from Judaism? I mean, see how even you insist that the Christian Bible that I said I was reading and that you claim was invented by early church fathers includes the translation of a book of Judaism that you said was the Tanakh. Maynman:Same way yahweh of shasu evolved into Yahweh of the Israelites I suppose. After all you did say yahweh of shasu adopted the Israelites or something, just as Jesus expanded the adoption to the Gentiles, and we clearly can read in the book itself how Yahweh evolved from the God of Abraham into the God of Israel and eventually into Jesus. Maynman:"Of such" implies you are getting there. Be patient with yourself. When you arrive you will admit that Nicene Christianity was very clearly created on the foundation of something just as the Israelites built their Yahweh on the foundation of the yahweh of the shasu tribe. |
Maynman:Listen to yourself and stop assuming everyone listens to reports! Was Jesus Christ "invented" in isolation or was Jesus Christ built on invented gods that preceded invented Jesus Christ just as the invented yahweh of the shasu tribe evolved into the invented god in the Tanakh? |
Maynman:This is the pity about you. You don't bother reading to know what those you talk at already know which is why you can't understand that your yahweh of the shasu tribe evolved into the Jesus Christ of today. I wonder if that's because you don't know that yahweh of the shasu tribe was also a human invention just as Jesus we read of was too. Either ways, forgive me for not sullying myself by responding to every one of your posts. |
ednut1:Goes to show potential. Lagos just needs to reduce by 10% "the state looks like the pictures i post" to double what it generates to 100b, and Lagos State would not be the only state that benefits. Your state might benefit too from your state people working to build Lagos State sending money back home to your state. |
zikkman:Concentrate on your mission please or lose those who are interested. We can consider the "posh side of Lagos" and Ajegunle ourselves. Stop feeding trolls! |
Timiofak:Imagine believing the words of a krakenite. No wonder they are bambooed. |
Fooled by Randomness: The Hidden Role of Chance in Life and in the Markets is a book by Nassim Nicholas Taleb that deals with the fallibility of human knowledge. It was first published in 2001. Updated editions were released a few years later. The book is the first part of Taleb's multi-volume philosophical essay on uncertainty, titled the Incerto, which also includes The Black Swan (2007–2010), The Bed of Procrustes (2010–2016), Antifragile (2012), and Skin in the Game (2018). |

Bossdave:He is too busy talking and does not bother hearing himself or others, unfortunately. By the fruits we produce shall we be known, is it so written for those with the eyes to see and the mind to understand. |
As spotted by PC Gamer, Reddit, and elsewhere, Sims 4 players are reporting that after the game’s July 26 update, some in-game characters are looking to date family members. One player shared a screenshot of an older woman who suddenly wanted to start a romantic relationship with her own son. Another player shared a bug report with EA stating that one of their male sims wanted to ask his twin sister to be his girlfriend. In that same support thread, a player on Xbox shared an offputting example of a daughter wanting to date her father. Yikes!

It wasn’t the hottest growth in jobs ever, but it was big and exceeded the pre-pandemic average job growth. Employers added 528,000 workers to their payrolls in July, and 2.79 million over the past three months. Wages jumped, but less than raging inflation, and the number of unemployed people actively looking for work fell to the lowest since the year 2000, at the verge of the dotcom bust.

OnionBandit:God cannot decree such "otherwise" because that would be like God hearing the Israelites cry under the tasking labour of making bricks without straw and instead of sending Moses, ordering Phaoroah to make the Israelites make 1000 times the brick output when Pharaoh provided the straw. Only an idiot would build a barbershop temple to worship such a god not to talk of the idiocy of opening a barber shop to celebrate those who inflicted brick making without straw on us all! Of course we must raze them down. Just that we want to raze them down democratically with our PVCs.

I thought there should be a thread of tweeters we'd like to use our collective Nairaland powers to help grow and make great. First is @CelOlulode BBC reporter, storyteller, history lover Please quote, like and share so we all know how much power we are giving. Post a tweeter you'd like us to empower. elated177:You ask this question because you have not yet travelled to educate yourself about nations that gave you your religion of El Elohe Yahshrael. If you travel to such countrys and witness the orderliness of their people on their clean roads as they travel to and fro their electrified and waterified homes to earn their daily bread you might find you'd need to redefine what you understand by "religious nation". |
elated177:Destiny is for people who are incapable of determining and plotting their own journey. The free and brave just keep on journeying. And citizens of the nations I mentioned do not take for granted the things that they built with the sweat of their brow. That is why they have what is commonly referred to as a "maintenance culture" which ensures the things they build with the sweat of their brow last for many many centuries.

Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones has been ordered to pay $4.1m (£3.3m) in damages after falsely claiming the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting was a hoax. |
feedthenation: Orbán has labeled his vision both “Christian democracy” and, more ominously, “illiberal democracy.” Here’s how he defined the difference between this and more conventional notions of democracy in his July speech:Anyone who thinks the bastardisation of the Nigerian education system is unintentional better think again. |
I wish you had been bold enough to request to film inside the theatre. A humble request to showcase the venue might get you inside. I'm encouraging you because you impressed me. |
azraeljaheel, you need to start paying tax on the help you receive. Henceforth, remit 20% of all income to my account within 14 days please. You may remit 15% if paid 5 days after you get paid. I hopefully do not need to mention what would happen if you don't. |
JDistribute:Who is the "we" that is allowing everyone to do whatever they like? Do people ask for your permission before they do what they like? And how do you police those who would be homosexual? Will you put cameras in their bedrooms to gather evidence to curb their excesses? Children do learn by what they hear and see is allowed in society but that does not mean they learn just to copy what they see. You don't watch a thief and then become a thief unless you were not better trained at home. |
