benalvino3:It is amusing that you who infers that "maths is racist" from a book about racism in maths instruction, can not infer how "UV ray A and uv ray B" affects the climate from the following, but I guess it is to be expected from someone who selectively infers to suit his narrative. Ultraviolet radiation affects many processes connected with the carbon cycle. It inhibits photosynthesis in plants and algae, particularly phytoplankton which produce roughly half of the oxygen in the atmosphere. Ultraviolet radiation has both positive and negative effects on nutrient cycling and decomposition. On the positive side, UV degrades colored dissolved organic matter (CDOM), making these compounds more available for nutrient-cycling bacteria, and “cleans” water, making light more available to aquatic photosynthetic organisms. However, UV can slow growth and potentially kill nutrient cycling bacteria. The balance between “cleaning” and “killing” depends on water depth and clarity.I'll let diss educate you on how plants affect climate change, since he proposes "Planting more trees". Hopefully, you'll make the connection with "photosynthesis in plants and algae, particularly phytoplankton which produce roughly half of the oxygen in the atmosphere". |
LordReed:His god the god of Adam, lol, and not the God of Eve. |
LordReed:And may we be smart enough to accept it when offered. I swear, we should start teaching Christ the Lord of atheism! Hardmirror can then understand how much he is appreciated. |
Emperormartin:How many times is “Maryam” used in the Quran? The name “Maryam” is used 34 times in 12 chapter of the Noble Quran. In some, her name alone has been mentioned and in others, the name 'Isa bin Maryam has been cited, relating Jesus to his mother, Mary. https://islam4u.pro/blog/mary-in-the-quran/ Maryam (Arabic: مريم, Maryam; Arabic synonym of "Mary" ) is the 19th chapter (sūrah) of the Qur'an with 98 verses (āyāt). The 114 chapters in the Quran are roughly ordered by size. The Quranic chapter is named after Mary, mother of Jesus (Isa), and the Virgin Mary in Christian belief. It recounts the events leading up to the birth of Jesus, subject matter covered in Luke 1 of the Christian Bible. The text of the surah refers to many known prophetic figures, including Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Aaron, Ishmael, Enoch aka Idris, Adam, and Noah. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maryam_%28surah%29?wprov=sfla1 |
Dtruthspeaker:I guess I expected a truthspeaker to speak that which is true, and not make up falsehoods or not admit errors. My bad. |
benalvino3:I am certain the entire point was about human contribution to climate change and not the sun, but trust you to get lost in that which is far too complex for your puny mind! |
benalvino3:And "UV ray A and uv ray B" has nothing to do with climate change, right, Ben? https://serc.si.edu/research/research-topics/global-change/changes-ultraviolet-radiation |
benalvino3:The sun getting hotter is however not the only cause of climate change. Depleting the ozone layer is like removing the covering that allows the sun to burn the earth hotter for instance, and we do know how we deplete the ozone, right? |
Dtruthspeaker:Dt! Does that not mean the earth was made for man, as opposed to your "man was made for the earth"? Compare it with “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath", and you just might get it. Also note that you can't exactly be made for that which you are supposed to rule over, as that which you rule over can, or at least, should not be your master. |
HardMirror:Someone with a different experience to your own would not agree, Hard. I was an atheist from birth, atheist as in I did not have the priviledge of being brainwashed to believe anything as my parents simply didn't have the time, being immersed in ma studying to be a nurse and pa a lawyer. My first awareness of gods were Egyptian, as dad was immersed in their study too, and the Roman and Greek gods I was taught about in my non-Nigerian nursery school, along with the Five Ws and one H, which is like mud rubbed in the eyes, and an antidote to belief. I was first introduced to belief on arrival in Nigeria, aged 7, and you could imagine how hard it must have been to be told at that age to believe what you are told as opposed to what you experienced with your own senses, or alternative explanations for what you are being told to now believe. It's like being told the white you see is black, I guess, which should at least make one go back and check. Imagine, however, how almost impossible it would be to have checked, found it is the white you first saw it was, and then being insistently told, it is indeed black and that you must accept it is black! And I did check, reading the Bible from page 1 all the way page by page to the end as my 9 to 11 year old project - it wasn't exactly as if I had anything better to do, not having a telly in the house three floors up and not being allowed downstairs to play much for fear gboọmọgbọmọ would whisk away ma's precious child. And at the end I knew I could not possibly believe a single word in it just as I wouldn't believe a single word in a story about Tom and Jerry! That, I think, being told to abandon what you perceive with your own senses and accept what others now tell you, should be hard if not nigh impossible, but it sounds like you managed to do so, lol, abandon what you perceived with your own senses and accept what you were told to believe. (Or perhaps it was that you were blinded with belief from birth and could not even look to see with your own eyes) I too would be extremely mad at myself when I my eyes finally open and I get to see how naked I had been, especially since Christ is written to have gone about opening people's eyes so that they may see for themselves instead of believing what some other person told them they saw. Na, I don't agree that it is hard to be atheistic to the beliefs of people around me and use my own senses instead. After all, its not as if everyone has mud spat on and rubbed in their eyes. And even if they had had mudded rubbed in their eyes, not many bother to go bath in the Pool of Siloam, is what I have found, so why trust their senses more than my own?. While some might not mind being Adams enslaved by the fear of death in a garden of Eden, some of us would rather be use her own senses Eve to find out for ourselves if it is true that we shall surely die on the day that we eat. I mean, it is pointless fearing death, right, because once one is dead, one is dead. But imagine if you then don't die but go on to live for some 800 years! That ought to make one wonder, I'd think. May you not believe but understand, I say, and may you have the strenght to do so, in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen! budaatum: |
benalvino3:And heat transfer has nothing to do with climate change, right, ben? |
JESHAL:The beauty of science is you don't have to trust anyone and can simple do peer review studies of your own or go do your own original research. After all, no one stops you seeking the funds to show us all what the climate is doing according to your own research and findings. In fact, there might be lots of funding to counter the so called "personal ideological subjectivity" that "make them create falsified studies", and no one could exactly argue that you are not independent if you do. I'm rooting for you because you just might be the one to put my lovely Nigeria on the scientific world stage. |
benalvino3:I probably did a lot more thermodynamics than you did Ben. But thermodynamics is not the only explanation for climate change, which you would understand if you had done any thermodynamics at all. |
Goodvibes007:That is precisely their, shall I call it, illness? They are simple, and anything complicated sounds contradictory to them. If its not black it must be white, and the greys in between do not exist not to talk of all the colours on the spectrum. It bodes one well to be aware how they reason, I think. Might make one have compassion for them not having a clue. |
JESHAL:It has not always happened at the current rate, and we humans are much more informed of how our activities may accelerate it. We after all see, at least those with open eyes see, how civilisation is being destabilized on all levels. |
LordReed:I unfortunately have not read Hardmirror's road to his Damascus experience, my Lord. It probably explains his bitterness - the fact that he had so gullibly believed, it seems. What's unfortunate is how he's now swung to the other extreme and does not realise that he still believes, which is why he's become my new candidate for mud and the Pool of Siloam. Hopefully, he too would see tokes in his dream. |
Dtruthspeaker:Mind sharing chapter and verse please? |
JESHAL:Shouldn't you be arguing that stealing is good since the so called elite steal? |
Goodvibes007:http://www.informationliberation.com/?id=62442 |
JESHAL:How come some people steal yet tell others not to and even imprison those who do steal? |
Goodvibes007:Those other countries all sat down and agreed to collude on the deception of climate change just as the whole world has colluded to deceive the entire world that there is a virus called corona that causes covid. We all know its just a trick for them to sell the face masks that they produce in their own companies. |
Goodvibes007:I did wonder how long you'd go on since the temptation is irresistible. Rest assured though that they are not the only readers here, and part of your educating is about letting others know how ignorant some may be. |
Goodvibes007:State the obvious, why don't you, lol. |
Goodvibes007:Tom and Jerry science, lol. At this point, I'm wondering how long you'd go on educating the willfully ignorant because its so not easy to resist the temptation to educate and hope they learn, I have found. budaatum: |
bobestman:Are you okay? If you are okay, you do know you can stay away from me, right, instead of trying to tell me what I should do? Go on, try to control yourself and stay away from me. Let's see if it works or not. I have faith in you. |
22jumpstreet:You believe it is true just like some believe in an after life and angels but have no evidence for their beliefs except what they read or watched somewhere or were told to believe by someone else! And just like them you wouldn't admit its a belief, but would claim 1000% evidence for what you probably know is untrue! The purpose of life, by the way, is for you to live, after which when you are done living you will die and your dead body will be placed in a box which will be placed in a hole where you will become worm food, which, to be honest, could be said to be your purpose, to feed the worms. Hopefully, your living will leave a positive impact on those you leave behind, who, in remembering you, will ensure you are not forgotten. budaatum: |
bobestman:Be now! Or am I stopping you from being? 22jumpstreet too had never chatted with me before dragging my name into a conversation I wasn't involved in and which you agreed with, and in which he has now left you to unfortunately stew, so next time perhaps mind the company you keep so you don't get dragged into what you know nothing about. buda does not appreciate the tarnishing of her name, and those who do can not be, as I hope you now know. Jump, note! |
HardMirror:I'm not passing by for you, Hard, so I don't see why you feel the need to thank me. James Randi is obviously a person one must know about so my appreciation for reposting it as it ought to be every once in a while so people's eye's open. I can't wait myself till we start opening eyes in schools by teaching people to use them. Pity believers are in charge for now, but it will change someday, I hope. P.s. Don't forget to inform people that Eve was a skeptic. It might teach people to emulate her. |
We been doing James Randi since 2006. Those who will believe will always be here while the eyes of many have opened. |
khia:He does troll like that, I do admit, but asking about worship as you have done without providing a personal interpretation is disingenuous because every single word we read or write is subject to one's own understanding and interpretation, unless you wish to read words literally, in which case the Bible might be far too advanced a book for you at the level you might be at. Take my favourite parable in the Bible for instance, where Christ is written to have said how one should worship God. In it, you'll see that the Priest and the Levite were on the way to 'worship' God as they understood God ought to be worshipped, but Christ said, Go and do as the Samaritan did. Now, some might claim Christ was not talking about God worship in that parable, but for those with understanding, Christ clearly was. |
benalvino3:As measured with a ruler by ben, I suppose. |
khia:That is not trolling! One must first understand what you mean. Imagine if your own worship is not the same as my own worship and we do not clarify it from the beginning! budaatum: |

There's no need to troll.
