Is that even possible.
Of course it isn't, not for Muslim women and definitely not for women in other religions, but watch as some react as if this is coming from a reputable source like the Senate.
Christianity Etc › Re: How We See Ourself by budaatum: 3:20pm On Jul 29, 2021
Christianity is a personal relationship with Jesus.
And yet Jesus himself is written to have described his teachings as a relationship with your neighbours and your enemies and not as self obsession with "yourself"!

I guess its time therefore to abandon a "relationship with Christianity", which is what in my own opinion you've described here, and start relating with the teachings of Christ instead, because if you wish to walk with a God you see not, you must walk first with those you see.

As usual my dear buda you bring the soothing balm of understanding.
I must say it's out of frustration at people like you my Lord arguing with those who have not read their God book or just don't understand what they've read, and the annoyance at them telling others to ignorantly believe as they do.

Thankfully, many have had the mud of enlightenment rubbed in their eyes so believing is impossible. They just need bath in the pool so that they may see. You however must have compassion for those who know not what they do, because you know how hard it is to know and understand if it is feared that knowing would result in their death instead of prolonging their existence on this earth as it actually does.
Politics › Re: Can Nigeria Ever Develop? by budaatum:
However, in the case of Nigeria as it is now, there is no capacity to create a procedure of equivalent complexity to develop.
There is actually immense capacity to develop, we just have not tapped it yet, and are currently tapping into the potential to destroy.

You mention bokoharam as an enemy to education, but do you not see how those who tell people not to eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil are doing the exact same thing. Or how can ignorant slaves who walk by the tree of knowledge ever free themselves from the slavery of ignorance which is the barrier to our development? And then you have those who's sole raison de existence is the destruction of Nigeria so they can have their own country, and also those who wish to impose their own ideology on everyone else!

While education is the solution, and may be a "commercial good as opposed to social good", that is not a reason for individuals not to educate themselves, which they can freely do since learning has been democratised. I mean, many do come to Nairaland University to freely eat fruits of knowledge and thereby be educated.

I personally see a bright future for Nigeria. Our potential is the 42.54% and growing population between the ages of 0–14. When that generation grows, hopefully educated by their parents who are not too old themselves, Nigeria will be transformed into the great nation it has the potential to become, but if we do not educate our children, we'd be creating a worse hell of a nation than we currently have.

Our future as a nation is in our hands. We just need to realise we are responsible for it.

Believe, being the operative word, while refusing to accept what you see with your own eyes. Or is it not true that when people die, we put their dead body in a box and put it in a hole where they become worm food?

Those who understand are more concerned with how they live.

Hard to separate the unchanging view and opinion of the writers of the verses above from the changing and evolving God itself, I guess, unless one sees with ones own eyes.

Nobody said they were the same so you were probably arguing with yourself.

Mention the other places were the god's unchanging nature was stated.
Despite God's evolution not detailed in a single verse or chapter, God's changing nature is replete throughout the God book, the hugest being from wrathful Yahweh to forgiving Christ to the explaining Holy Spirit that are all supposedly within us humans. We just have not yet evolved to see (or accept) it yet.

It requires reading the God book from the beginning page by page to the end to understand and see God evolved over time, but many despite claimimg to have never done so, reading a la carte instead.

The beginning of Wisdom is not fear, however, but the understanding of God, which most have not yet bothered to ask and knock and seek for. But glory to God that is changing as threads as these show.

It does not matter as each president or actor has a goal. Their goal might be apprehending a criminal ring to removing corrupt government officials. The word drain the swamp can fit in all those things.

The division of power in the United States is very vast. No one man should have absolute power we know its good. But there is a problem when other divisions of power are politically leaning to one side and that will be like the ccp one party system. USA is leaning towards communist China system.
The political lean of divisions of power is a fault in the democracy America practices and not the fault of one party. You can't elect a police chief or have the Attorney General appointed by the winner of elections and not have them dance to the tune of their boss.

I'm just delighted that Supreme Court Judges seem to place themselves above such pettiness or Amy and Kavanaugh would have done the will of the person who appointed them. Shows they have integrity I suppose, which some just lack.

Na.. it's actually the majority that face these issues at the embassies/airports, saying otherwise is playing ostrich.
If that's what you wish to believe then so be it for you. I don't believe it and that's perhaps why I don't face these issues as often as is claimed. The experiences I mentioned above were over 20 years ago except the Murtala one which was 10 years ago and still remains the worst airport I have ever landed at as I still face issues when I land there.

You cant use exceptions to dismiss the majority.
It is not the majority nor is it the exception, is precisely my point, but the minority shout so loud they make you think it is.

You just need land at Heathrow or any airport a plane flies from Nigeria to to see how few people are treated as is claimed above. Also see how well many Nigerians are doing well wherever we are to know we are treated as the individuals that we most certainly are.
Christianity Etc › Re: How I Became An Atheist. by budaatum:
Workch:
The book written by Stephen Meyer is not only largely philosophical but fallacious in that regard

He argued Based on cause and effect to explain intelligent design which will philosophically lead to an infinite regress of infinitesimal causes. He didn’t even provide evidence for this.

Secondly, dude said since we have not found evidence for chemical Evolution, chance is that intelligent design must have occurred. That’s a serious case of fallacy of appealing to ignorance. Because we haven’t find the evidence is not evidence that god did it. You have to find evidence for your “god did it” still.

Thirdly, he did not argue against evolution, you seem not to understand his premise. He argued against abiogenesis, he didn’t say that evolution didn’t occur, he only concluded that the process must have been designed. He’s just an average Christian trying to look for evidence for his conclusions instead of the doing it the other way. You see why he can’t be taken seriously?
As you can see, we are not very informed in Nigeria, and we just believe what we are told, and this is despite Jesus telling his followers to be scientists who ask and knock and seek with all their hearts and soul and minds and beings. Or is that not what a scientist ought to do, research? But, even the religion, we misunderstand.

Take the Scientist Eve who refused to believe and therefore used her senses to check if it is true that on the day that she eats she shall surely die. We read what happened after she ate, her eyes opened, she gained wisdom and she freed her and her stupid believing Adam from ignorance and slavery and went on to live a further 800 years or so after eating, during which she and her so called descendants have gone on to "Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth" and are now on the way to do the same to Mars and Jupiter and Uranus etc, and yet my people are afraid of eating fruits of knowledge for fear it would kill them!

If only we could really do as Christ is written to have said, and ask and knock and seek with our own eyes and hearts and souls and minds and being, but I guess the so called Holy Spirit has not ministered to us, yet. When it does, libraries would be like 10 minutes away from every home and we would understand instead of stupidly just believe like demons who tremble. But before then, we must have mud rubbed in our eyes and we must bath in the Pool of Siloam so that we may indeed see, I guess.

Years later I would find myself suffering what seems like a stigma that comes with being Nigerian.
You hear this said by many Nigerians, yet, I, a Nigerian, who has travelled to at least 20 countries including UK, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Barbados, France, Greece, etc, has only experienced 'discrimination' at four airports, Leonardo da Vinci, Frankfurt and Paris Gare du Nord, where I was asked to step aside so my passport could be checked, and Murtala where I was taken into a room and my luggage was searched because they claimed to have intel I was a drug mule, and out of all the places, Murtala was the worst though nothing was found.

Thing is, Nigerian or whatever, you are an individual and you command how you are treated and respected or not except by a few stupid individuals who think all people from the same place or with the same colour are the same. Differentiate yourself and be treated as the individual that you are instead of accepting this is as your label. And don't you dare forget to yell!

Saudi Arabia is worse that Egypt and Nigeria put together, but USA doesn't mind selling to them.

Perhaps if Nigeria does what Saudi does Nigerians might be pleased. We can start by cancelling the democracy we fought and shed blood to gain, and crown bubu or the next president since bubu is old already, king for life, if just so we see if we prefer that.
