shadeyinka: Why suppress your statement
What else can the highlighted in RED mean?
Please answer the question or withdraw your quote by restating exactly what you mean by the highlighted in red (its your word)
"A belief, though often devoid of knowledge/knowing, is not always devoid of Knowledge/Knowing." Meaning exactly what you've stated above: give three examples of the exceptions! "Humans shall not live by bread alone" applies here. budaatum: No, shade. A belief, though often devoid of knowledge/knowing, is not always devoid of Knowledge/Knowing.
Very very often though, you believe because you haven't bothered to ask and knock and seek and eat of the fruit of knowledge to find out for yourself
Hence, science. The use of the heart and the soul and the mind and the being, to ask and knock and seek and research so one may actually know, more, so to speak.. How can you possibly ignore the bolded red bit and then ask me to provide examples for what you insist in believing as if I am trying to convince you that there is value in emulating demons? Anyway, one example is buda believes that if we all eat fruits of knowledge our relationships with each other would be much better and our nation will be much safer and more secure.

DissTroy: For the purpose of clarity, do explain this:
"Roy L. Brooks defined critical race theory in 1994 as "a collection of critical stances against the existing legal order from a race-based point of view".
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Critical_race_theory (Check the "Definition" subheading.)
Not from any other point of view from a race-based point of view. It's the definitive prism CRT is viewed from - race. What you posted does not "Insist that everything the black person faces, or deals with or has to do has to be viewed through a racial in decking". "A critical stance" can and usually is one stance in many stances like, financial stance, motivational stance, opportunity stance, gender, sex, capability etc, and CRT can't possibly ignore them all. You should not claim everything is blue just because you have put on blue glasses. Some may be wearing different coloured shades or have perfect sight.. |

DissTroy: Budaatum, stop with the semantics. You should know better than that. The definition of CRT as stated and accepted by all means examining issues which concern the black person from a racial perspective. I even posted the screenshot. "Stop with the semantics", or stop using my brain? The definition above does not "Insist that everything the black person faces, or deals with or has to do has to be viewed through a racial in decking". |

In your own words, Roy L. Brooks is very silly.
Thank you. What you posted does not mean "Insist that everything the black person faces, or deals with or has to do has to be viewed through a racial in decking". |

DissTroy: Insisting that everything the black person faces, or deals with or has to do has to be viewed through a racial in decking the black person in an apparel of victimhood. CRT does not "Insist that everything the black person faces, or deals with or has to do has to be viewed through a racial in decking", and anyone who thinks it does is just being silly. |

shadeyinka: I was disappointed with your response because it clearly contradicts your position that there are some Believed Beliefs that is from knowledge. Show me where you got that from because I do not believe I've held any such position. In fact don't I say the ignorant believe? shadeyinka: Unfortunately you refuse to look at instances (I gave as examples) where Believed Believing are NOT devoid of knowledge. It seems ALL examples I can give will be met with the stance of "the believed believing is devoid of knowledge!" Yeah, that's more familiar! "The believed believing is devoid of knowledge!" , though I doubt I'd express it exactly that way myself, but I can accept that. shadeyinka: Can you then according to your statement "A belief, though often devoid of knowledge/knowing, is not always devoid of Knowledge/Knowing." give three good suitable examples of the exceptions?
Wise Buda: Please oblige me just three suitable examples! Me, an advocate of 'Demons believe and tremble', should give you the believer, three good suitable examples of the exceptions? Shadeyinka, your head is incorrect. |

DissTroy: Exactly! You are corroborating my assertion!
Why is why Critical Race Theory is premised on absurd exaggerations. It blames racism (institutional mostly) as the culprit to be hanged for the failings of the black person. CRT postulates that as a black person you'd be prejudiced at every turned based solely on your skin colour when the reality lays to waste the validity or truism of that assertion. No it is not based on the premises nor postulate what you claim! And its rather absurd to be claimimg CRT proponents will agree that one is an addict or a thief because of discrimination one experienced due to race. Unless race is the reason one is an addict or a thief of course. |

DissTroy: There's only one way to paraphrase Critical Race theory - Selective victimhood. Wanting to view everything through the lens of racial prejudice predisposes impressionable black kids to always seeing a glass ceiling and not taking responsibility for their actions. Boogeyman logic. The sort that feels the world is out to get you. And its usually made of straw, and not glass. It's in your "view everything" and your "predisposes impressionable black kids". Your error, I mean. Most don't view "everything" in any one particular view for starts, and black kids are not "predisposed" nor are they any more impressionable than kids of any colour. One more thing. I have not yet come across anyone here complain that white people stopped them achieving what they have achieved; point it out to me when you do find, I would really love to read it. |

shadeyinka: Okay: Even though some believed beliefs are devoid of Knowledge/knowing, some believed beliefs are guided by Knowledge/knowing.
Examples of such: 1. An army general planned an assault on hill 732 against Taliban forces dug in a defensive position. a. Does he know the outcome of his assault or believe in the outcome? He neither knows nor believes in the outcome! He simple does what he can and hopes for a favourable outcome. shadeyinka: 2. The Nigeria Olympic 400m relay track and field coach has trained his athletes for the Tokyo games. a. Does he know the outcome of his coaching or believe in the outcome? Same here. He neither knows nor believes in the outcome. He simple does what he can and hopes for a favourable outcome. shadeyinka: 3. A student prepared very hard for his JAMB exam. a. Does he know the whether he will lead the exam or believe he would lead in the exam? Same here. He neither knows nor believes in the outcome. He simple does what he can and hopes for a favourable outcome. In none of the cases above does what is believed affect the outcome apart from the motivational effect it might have on the participant. I have assumed none of them have special powers like the ability to time travel. An example is two boxer about to fight each other. Do they know whether they will lose or win the fight or believe they will lose or win the fight? Tadej Podgacar of UAE Emirates Team did not know nor believe he would win a stage, and that is why he and his team trained really hard and won the Tour. Do see here you asking similar questions, and note my response has not changed. |

Roland17: If you live in Nigeria and you are here debating American politics with venom irrespective of the side you support and you have not registered to vote or do not have your PVC then you are a bloody hypocrite who lacks the ethical or moral compass to engage in such conversations.
Please, redirect your energy to registering to vote in the forthcoming elections (local/State and Federal) in Nigeria. After you register please, take it a step further by encouraging your friends and community to register. Then on Election Day, go out and cast your vote and resist the temptation to sell your vote for a small packet of garri/sugar and groundnut.
Nigeria is no longer dying a slow death, it has become a fast death with no reprieve. Leave American politics alone! If anything use the American experience to educate your community that voting with your conscience is the only way to effect change.

shadeyinka: Hmn! The question has assumed that some believed beliefs are based on weak speculations devoid of facts such as a statement like "twins bring bad luck to the community" or "whistling at night attract ghosts to the whistler".
The question was:
Is a Belief always devoid of Knowledge/Knowing? Since "some believed beliefs are based on weak speculations devoid of facts such as a statement like "twins bring bad luck to the community" or "whistling at night attract ghosts to the whistler"", as you have stated, it must go to reason that some beliefs are devoid of knowledge/knowing, and can actually be the opposite of knowledge which is ignorance, which a fitting description for those who ignore knowledge. As to your "always", etiquette in my field insist that believing means you do not really know. We do not believe we will profit or succeed in my field. We ask and knock and seek instead so we may know. budaatum: Any belief negatively affects knowledge, and a believe in what you do not understand, even moreso.
The issue is that you think both what you believe, and knowledge, are the same thing, which they are not. Just think. You can not believe your mother is your mother if you know who your mother is nor can you believe you have money in your bank account if you know there is money in your bank account.
I'm certain you are tempted to respond in the negative to the above but I recommend you think about it for a day or two to avoid responding how you have been programmed to believe.
You do not believe what you know, and if you believe then you really do not know. |
