DFOmobolla:
I have always been a middle minded person, but of resent I feel a huge to choose.
I really want to believe in some creator, but my mind as never been satisfied with shallow thoughts, I guess am fashioned for deeply rooted knowledge. I have always found it hard to swallow the pills of conceived faith. And yet I want to believe that some of does with faith actually have a reasonable basis for their perspective.
I wonder why you would want to believe instead of understand. Are you somehow deciding to stop using your own brain and mind and just accept that which you are told?

Would you rather be ignorant naked enslaved Adam in the Garden of Eden who was afraid he would surely die, or would you be intelligent curious use her own senses Eve and pluck the fruit and find out if or not you shall surely die?

But I guess that's not what you asked, so here goes:

DFOmobolla:
Do you believe in a creator. yes or no
No. I do not believe in a Creator because it is written that God created me in God's image to create, so if I believe, I am falsely claiming to not know whom I am and the powers invested in me.

DFOmobolla:
Whats his/her/its name or what you ascribe.
buda, would just about be the best name for it, though it could be you or any of my fellow human beings that I see before me, because Christ did say that if I do for those I see before me, any God I can imagine living in heaven is pleased. So, let us for the purpose of this thread say the God of buda is DFOmobolla to whom thanks and praises be.

DFOmobolla:
Describe him/her/it, the form, the existence, the concept.
Can't exactly do that because that would be creating a false image which it is written God abhors, and besides, that would be limiting since even buda nor DFOmobolla is not merely this or that.

DFOmobolla:
Give us a reason: when did you became sold as a conscious human and why.
Understanding, really. Once one understands, one will be sold, so to speak, or understand, as I would put it.

As for when, why that's a tricky one but I'll try. Atheist from birth due to no brainwashing. Confirmed atheist by 12 after reading the Bible and understanding I do not believe as I was told to. Unbelieving Theist like 10 years later when I decided to study the Books again. Confirmed Unbelieving Atheist Theist like a couple of years ago when I finally understood my own evolution.

I told you. Tricky. But you did say your "mind has never been satisfied with shallow thoughts" and that you are "fashioned for deeply rooted knowledge" and "have always found it hard to swallow the pills of conceived faith", so I would expect you to ask and seek and knock on the head of buda in order to understand.

You have shifted on the topic and talk ill of me too, I told u this is the problem u guys are having, it is ur pastor they would catch with human head.
Actually, I agreed with you, lol. And seeing the Christ reference must have set mist over your eyes. Or do Yorubas fight over which God is the supremest? And is not very wise that we don't, especially seeing as we live together in harmony with Allah and Yahweh, and Jesus, and Ogun, and Sopona even sometimes all under the same roof?

The problem is that of assumption, as you done have here, in assuming I must need a pastor! So I will patiently wait to see how long it takes for you to admit you misunderstood and to offer up an apology.

People can be crazy, if it should to maintain peace, there's other consequence, if it shouldn't. consequence dey too..

The origin of the problem is church and mosque, the talk ill of each other whenever in their gathering..

Thank Ogun say na him pikin I be, I love everyone 'n my own
That is what happens when you worship Ogun. You can not after all be fighting Sango or Osun or Sopona or any of the various other Yoruba Gods because you might end up fighting yourself if you worship Ogun and Sango and Sopona all together!

Ogun is not arrogant like some's God is the reason. Ogun will never for instance say Ogun is the only God because Ogun is not blind and dumb not to see all the other Gods that are out there.

I guess that's why I love Jesus Christ. He too, like Ogun, would never say his own father is the only mansion builder, but even in his father's mansion are many rooms in which just might live other Understanding of Gods.

You got to wonder why an Almighty God would be jealous of them though, because that's like Olodumare the Owner of Everything being jealous of it's minions.

Physics you say....I've dabbled once or twice into the sciences....pardon my derailing the thread, but I've seen you commenting on Christian threads, and being a scientist that you are, what are your thoughts on Metaphysics (through its mainly a philosophical field), do you believe there is more to causality than meets the human perception?, do you subscribe to reductionist nature of science, and finally, can spirituality be verified by science?...patiently awaiting your reply smiley
First. Believe is what one does when one does not know, which is why we never ever believe our mother is our mother unless we are ignorant of whom our mother truly is, in which case we ought to just own up that we do not know instead of merely believing the crap we create in our heads.

Physics is a science, which is the use of the senses. When Christ is written to have said "the eye is the lamp of the body" he is saying 'use your sense and do science'. buda does not believe what buda can ask and knock and seek to understand and know with all buda's heart and buda's soul and buda's mind and buda's being.

Metaphysics is defined as the branch of philosophy that deals with the first principles of things, including abstract concepts such as being, knowing, identity, time, and space.

It is not to be believed, but to be understood, and that understanding leads to understanding, metaphysically speaking and no pun intended.

You might note this if you consider my comments in the religion section (both, including the Islamic section, by the way) in a metaphysical kind of way. The text themselves are metaphysical texts, written in abstract metaphorical language (parables, for instance), to be understood in our own personal contexts of being, knowing, identity, time, and space etc.

If you have other questions, might I kindly suggest you create a thread and mention me in it so we do not further derail this thread please. We can add a link here for those who may wish to read buda being grilled. Hey! That might be a good title for it. Lol.

My dear, I laugh.

Yes, that is what I did. I cleaned non-government toilets to pay my way through school and to get my first degree, after which I could not get a job in my chosen field and so went on cleaning toilets.

Then I got promoted to chief toilet cleaner due to my diligence in toilet cleaning, and eventually became the manager of hundreds of toilet cleaners before being promoted again to become the manager of the managers of toilet cleaners, after which I got employed to manage thousands in other fields that had nothing to do with toilet cleaning, and this is like 30 years later so fill in the gap if you so please.

So what if you had the ability and have sowed, and the weather (which the government can control and regulate in this case) doesn't favor you, then what? You're assuming people are not doing! You're assuming people are wailing and complaining because results (success) is not being seen. No, success is not "totally" in your hands. Do you know how many start up businesses that have crashed as opposed to Jumia? And because of some governmental policies or lack of it? Businesses the naira devaluation has affected? You're looking at this from an individual angle, but outside of that there are things (policies, laws, bureaucracies, systems) that'll affect and condition the choices you'll make.
No, Magnolia. I am Nigerian too, and I am obviously 'doing' instead of wailing and complaining like some.

Businesses will fail, just as they do all over the world everyday, but as my father taught me, all chickens may be looking for food, but while some starve others will fill their own belly.

It starts with being responsible. While some are here wailing they have no jobs, some have earned their daily wage today, some hundreds of Naira, some thousands of Naira and some in the millions of Naira, just today.

You choose which group you want to belong to and then do you whatever needs to be done to be in the group you want to be in. The wailers or the millions of Naira a day group. The choice is entirely your own, and depends on how diligently you choose to be and do that which must be done.

How should we behave??
Like sensible people would behave. By being responsible. By being diligent in our learning and in whatever else we do. By loving ourselves and our so called enemies even moreso because they know not what they do, and by educating them so they would know to better do that which they ought to do.

Only after I win the war against the mote of indiscipline in my own self can I begin to teach others to fight the beam of indiscipline in others. And then when our collective lights so shines before ourselves those in the dark may see its brilliance and want some of that light too.

Because Jumia is growing, does not mean the government should fold it arms. Even the nollywood industry, music industry is going. That does not mean the government does not have its responsibility to create jobs and support growing local industries.

finito.
The government is not made up of Martians who came from Mars! The government is made up of people from amongst ourselves whom we ourselves elected to rule over ourselves.

If we do not like how the current leaders we elected are leading us, na democracy we de, we just wait 4 years and elect from amongst ourselves those who will lead us as we would like ourselves to be led.

But if we keep thinking it is our so called leaders who are solely responsible for misleading us, then we obviously have learnt nothing since we got the power to democratically lead ourselves and will likely make the same mistake of electing the wrong leaders from amongst ourselves to lead us at the next election and will likely make the same mistake at the election after the next one and the one after that.

By the election of say 2031 I think and hope, perhaps we shall then have learnt that no one but ourselves can free ourselves from the hell of no jobs and etc that we have ourselves created for ourselves.

I have immense faith in us despite your continued objection!

So you agree that Nigeria has it's Jeff Bezos already in Jumia? Is Jumia goverment owned? Did some people not stop waiting and wailing for government and go and create Jumia in order to provide a source of income for themselves and the thousands they employ?

Meanwhile, you are here watching the weather of government who you blame for your own inability to sow your own seed?!?

Disagree. There are job employment process for even people with menial skills. Just as painting, farming, even refuse disposal jobs that can improve lives.
There is no excuse for you not to go and paint or farm or collect refuse in your neighbourhood. There are already thousands of Nigerians doing those jobs and creating employment opportunities for themselves and for others instead of wailing and waiting for some government to create those jobs for them to do!

They are responsible for the food on their own tables while you expect government to be responsible for the food on your table. Who's starving and wailing, you or them?

So when Amaechi as a governor created over 18,000 jobs through teachers training program and employed people, they were intelligent people to work. Now Wike came and dissolved the scheme with no employment created, the intelligent people disappeared.

When Amaechi carried out Agricultural entrepreneurship program and trained hundreds of farmers, they were intelligent people and now Wike has abandoned them, the people have disappeared.

Let the government do their jobs or hide their heads in shame. No one to blame but them. The people will find a way to forge ahead, but don't blame them for the incompetency of the government.
The only thing this proves is how inept government is at creating jobs they can not afford to create!

The Orolu Local Government is the largest employer in the Orolu Kingdom. More people are employed there than anywhere else in the kingdom such that when you go to the local goverment office you'd see them swarming like flies on poo. However, to get a single file from one office to the next office takes at least five people and five days. And they are all on half pay once every three months because the local government can not pay them.

What you are asking for is not the creation of productive and profitable jobs, but the creation of opportunities for you to be paid a wage whether there is a job for you to do or not, which might be suitable doings for government, but is definitely not what an investor like Jeff Bezos or I would do, or we'd soon run out of money to pay you and then have to do what smart Wike did or go bankrupt.

If Jeff Bezos and I had started Amazon.com in a poverty-stricken corner of Africa, there would have been no job creation because there would be no people to buy the stuff from Amazon.com.
Can someone please point out to this individual that there are lots of Nigerian people in Nigeria who are currently buying a lot of stuff from Jeff Bezos Amazon.

The only reason Jeff Bezos does not have a warehouse to sell you stuff in Nigeria is because we Nigerians would ensure a lot of the stuff he sells never gets to the person buying it but would instead disappear in our Nigerian transit!

If we stole less, Jeff Bezos would gladly come just for the immense profit he would make and we Nigerians would be employed by him to deliver what he sells to us. But because we will fail to take the advice that Buhari has given here, Jeff Bezos will take his profit making and job creating business elsewhere.

A job is the best cure for poverty, and that's why economic development and job creation has been my principle focus. Luther Strange (Former American Senator)

A rising tide lifts all boats, and you have to start with job creation. We will never get there until we replace all these jobs that have been lost. Phil Gingrey

Not the people have to become intelligent and learn to pull the cart.
"A job" is something you do for someone else in order for you to earn a wage to earn a living. I give you a job to do for me because it is profitable for me to give you the job. I pay you for the time and effort you exert on my behalf in order to earn me a profit, and not so you may have a job!

If you can not first do a job, what please would anyone hire you and pay you a wage for doing?

That is why I first get you to apply for a job by showing me what you can do for me, and I interview you to ensure you truly can do what you say you can do.

I do not owe you a job. I give you one because I will earn more by giving you the job. And do note that if you can not do the job, or if your country is not suitable for my business, I will go elsewhere and find those who can do my job so I can earn a profit because I am not in the charity business of feeding lazy fuqs!

If you can't pull my cart I will get someone who can! So first learn cart pulling so I can bring my cart to you to be pulled. But if you intend to stand in front of my cart and expect it to be pulled, I, the cart owner, can not possible be so ignorant as to be waiting for my cart you are standing in front of to get to where I would desire it to arrive at!
