1. Low expectations...
The state of any society is the aggregate of the expectations of the people comprising it.
In 2015, the Ghana Electric company started load shedding. This resulted in approximately 12 hours of electricity, daily.
O boy, come see nationwide protests.
Every single person spoke out against it, so they had to resolve it quickly.
Here in Nigeria, we tolerate too much nonsense.
2. We should also be willing to pay more for electricity. |

Jannuxajj: I am an introvert that is into programming and I work for companies from home. I became tired of all the gold diggers I was attracting because I discovered they are only looking for sponsors so for the first time I made up my mind to start approaching. I saw a young lady walking towards me so I decided to start with her. I greeted her and immediately she answered I didn't know what to say next thing I said was are you coming from the gym and she said no and looked at me somehow only for me to stammer and then ask for her name she just ignored me and was pressing her phone. It bad to be sitting indoors everyday I swear loneliness dey kill me This is good... The lesson from this is that there is no danger at all. Nothing will happen if a girl rejects you. If you look at it logically, you were not intimidated by the girl, but your brain "panicked". So you need to condition your brain to not see it as a big deal. And you can do this by approaching many girls and showing your brain that you will not die. Then it'll calm down. |

Kiddo01: I've been thinking about this and so I decided to bring it here.
A friend of mine has been having issues with his wife for some time now. He said that the Parish Priest has advised both of them but without positive result.
But I keep wondering, is it that both parties do not want to settle their differences or is the reverend father actually giving the needed council? Is the reverend father who has not married before qualified to give advice on marital crisis? What do you think Well, he'll advice you based on scripture and catholic doctrine. A good example will be judges... They are not experts in the many different domains that appear before them for judgement. But they can pass rulings based on the law. |

Politics › Re: Abomination Oba Onikoyi Bow To Greet Gani Adams A Mere Chief-photo by BuddhaPalm(m): 8:48am On Aug 21, 2020 |
Akamariner: Here is the relationship.
All the children of oduduwa resides with their father in ile-ife, being the chief Yoruba land, and are expected to rule the kingdom, after the demise of their father, according to who IFA chose, so all of the available children is entitled to the throne, according to the choice of IFA, but there was a time the northerners insults oduduwa, and the last born of oduduwa, who later became the first alafin, asked his elder brothers to assist him in fighting the notherners that insulted their father, they agreed, but fought on the way going, so oranyan (the last born), departed and seek refuge with one nupe chief/king. It was the nupe chief that gave oranyan a snake that he should follow, that wherever the snake stops, oranyan should settle there, and when the snakes stops at old Oyo town, oranyan decided to stop there and establish his own monarchy, forsaking his birthright at ile ife, but instead of calling himself oba, like Yoruba's named their king, he chooses alafin instead (meaning, owner of the palace), the new Oyo town then grows in millitary strength, and they conquered many regional town, but instead of fighting the remaining Yoruba land, decided to protect them and give respect to ile ife and oni, being their descendants town, so alafin had an entitlement to the throne of oni, but created his own empire, and became the strongest imperial, ruling in the whole of west Africa then, before internal conflict bring about the fall of the empire.
That's the relationship between them. Ahh, I see... Thank you very much! |
Politics › Re: Abomination Oba Onikoyi Bow To Greet Gani Adams A Mere Chief-photo by BuddhaPalm(m): 5:20am On Aug 21, 2020 |
Akamariner: No, the are ona kakanfo wields more power in the Yoruba empire than any other tittle, he controls the whole millitary structure of the Yoruba empire, that is why he is prevented from residing near the empire capital (Oyo alafin), after him is the bashorun, the alafin is being checked by the Oyo messi's, which bashorun is the leader, and the Oyo messi's are being checked by the ogboni cult, the are onokakanfo controls the seventy ESO of the alafin, which are respected individuals, of which timi of ede town is inclusive, but no one check the are ona kakanfo, this is the reason why the are is not allow near the alafin palace, to prevent treason, the Yoruba empire was able to stand strong for centuries because of these check on power, if a strong alafin rules, it will be replace by a weak one, and on like that, and the Oyo mesi's may compel the alafin to commit suicide, if he is not wanted by the people, most obas are under the alafin, except the oni of ife, cause that's where the first alafin hails from (oranmiyan), and it is forbidden to wage war on the alafin or the oni, because those are the ruling head, I'm not saying bowing to are is right, but cinsidering the power the are wields, it's not surprising.
I am a native of Oyo town, of the balogun clan, that's why I know all these Thanks for this insight. You guys have a very sophisticated hierarchy. What's the relationship and differences between the Ooni and Alafin? |

Bluntguy: Ghana seems to be the only country I know where there is separate laws for its local business men and non-Ghanians. Or are they still pained by the border closure by the Nigerian government which they see as being targeted at them? Because the above listed laws suddenly came into effect the moment Nigeria closed her borders against smugglers. All this is just bad belle. We actually have very similar laws. A foreigner wishing to register a business in Nigeria needs to have a minimum share capital of N10,000,000. A Nigerian citizen, on the other hand, needs a minimum share capital of N10,000. |
