PoliticsRe: Jonathan: With Prayers, We'll Overcome Nigeria's Problems by Bukkyade: 7:37pm On Aug 20, 2012
Yes Mr. President. Through prayers, all things are possible. And we can see your prayers are working.
You are overcoming Boko Haram gradually. They have started thinking less of their 77 virgin hunt. They are now begging for negotiation.
We can see a general improvement in power. We can see your fight against the oil cabal and the prosecution of oil thieves. More grease to your elbow. Prayers will save us all.

Billyonaire: You cant be in my shoes. Because the FRESH AIR DYNASTY is for the highly enlightened, fact-equipped, well-lettered persons of integrity. Looking into my e-telescope focusing on a panoramic view of your person with your contents of character, my lenses can see a deluded, semi-illiterate, highly impoverished and mentally deranged parasitic paradigm of demented proportion, thats what you are and so mote it be. You can not belong to the Fresh Air Crew, you are under-qualified. GEJ leads and others follow, Electricity has improved. FRESH AIR, CARRY GO!!!

PoliticsRe: FG Indicts Conoil, MRS, Capital Oil, 18 Others by Bukkyade: 5:30pm On Aug 18, 2012
kj_hova: @Bukkyade I am quite sure you are aware of the so many "indictments" since our new found democracy. From 1999 till date, we have indicted state governors, CEOs, business entities, all sorts; hell, we even indicted a sitting Vice President!! The courts always throw such cases out as indictment is "guilty before proven innocent". The act of indicting is such that should be a logical outcome of proper investigations. Not the other way round.

BTW, any investigation which indicts fuel importers yet somehow manage to exempt government officials in PPPRA, DPR, NNPC, CBN, MoF, DMO, NPA etc is a fraud ab initio. This govt is only pulling wool over the eyes of the uninformed.
I know of so many indictments which led to trial. Tafa Balogun, former IGP, was indicted for 9 billion police funds, charged to court and finally convicted. Alamiesigha was indicted, charged and convicted. Cecilia Ibru was indicted, charged and convicted. Olabode George was indicted, charged and convicted. Over 18 ex governors have been indicted, facing trial and may be convicted.
Former senate president Wabara was indicted and charged but not convicted. Former speaker Bankole was indicted, charged but escaped conviction through his lawyers in court.
PoliticsRe: FG Indicts Conoil, MRS, Capital Oil, 18 Others by Bukkyade: 12:34pm On Aug 18, 2012
kj_hova: Has an agency of govt (say EFCC or police) conducted proper investigations? Do we have conclusive evidence at hand? Has our Attorney General or any other public prosecutor charged anyone to court? Has their been a complete prosecution? Has anyone gone to jail?

Indictment is a loose English word that has been unleashed on us many times by the powers that be. Think straight posters, have you ever witnessed prosecution & jail terms after these indictments?
I disagree. Indictment creates the first basis for trial. You must be indicted in a scandal first before EFCC or Police investigates and prosecutes. indictment is not an abuse, it kick starts the process.
PoliticsRe: FG Indicts Conoil, MRS, Capital Oil, 18 Others by Bukkyade: 11:45am On Aug 18, 2012
This government is simply magical. they re doing what none other has done. I never believed they will release the names of those indicted as clamoured by the press and civil society group. But here they are. They have given us the names of the oil cabal that has held us to ransome for years. It's remarkable. With this alone, I'm ok. At least, I can now point to the cabal with mathematical exactitude. Nigerians now know the face of their enemies.
PoliticsRe: We Will Negotiate With Subsidy Cabal - Okonjo-iweala by Bukkyade: 9:11pm On Aug 17, 2012
Gbawe: This is the simple truth and any back-and-forth with the Nairaland apologists of this Government is a waste of time. The Government is indeed the cabal. GEJ, Allison-Madueke et al are the biggest culprits in the subsidy scam. The biggest open secret in the world is the source of the massive funds that 'poured' in to buy the desperate 2011 ambition of team GEJ. They all knew how much they will loot once they have gained substantive power. To that end, they were willing to loot all coffers (ECA et al) and and carry out any scam at all to 'win' the Presidency. I.e the ultimate tool of wanton looting and partisan disbursal of Nigeria's wealth. Anyone who thinks this Government is not inextricably linked with the subsidy scam simply needs to go around with the words "world's biggest fool" on their forehead for the next two years.
Mr. GBAWE, how can you ever say that GEJ and Allison Madueke are the cabal. The identity of the cabal are not hidden since the subsidy reports broke out. They are common knowledge. Mention any one out of these companies that can be linked directly or indirectly to Jonathan or Diezani.1.

youngies: We won't succumb to blackmail

Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala also said that the long queues that have resurfaced in Abuja, the Nigerian capital, were not enough reasons for the FG to negotiate with some marketers whom she described as blackmailers.

"But for some of those who are bent on blackmailing the Federal Government even though they have committed very serious infractions in the subsidy claim we are not willing to pay them when they have not cleared their case," she said.
Majority of readers on this thread did not bother to go through this before posting their comments. The so called negotiation is for national interest so as to end the long queues and save the masses of further hardship. The real thieves in the subsidy scandal will still not go unpunished. The negotiation is not for everybody as the above paragraph suggest.

It is for the few who have no serious case against them. The govt will settle them and they will proceed to supply fuel. But the blackmailers and fraudulent marketers indicted by AIG will have to clear their case before payments.

Dollarman101: Shut up! Nigeria has not done anything for you but I'm sure you were born in our general hospitals, where almost everything is subsidised including ante natal. Inspite of all the criticism, teaching hospitals and federal medical centres remain the number one destination for health care delivery for a vast majority of Nigerians.
You must also have passed through our unity schools or graduated from any of our federal or state universities which is the most subsidized in the world. Make you take time to ask your friends schooling abroad, how much they pay as school fees. You use our airports including MMAI which is ranked top 10. You ply some good roads in Nigeria without paying taxes or tolls.

Govt subsidizes your electricity bills so that you can pay as low as N7.00 per Kwh. Google electricity tariffs in Uk or other advanced countries and see what Nigerian govts subsidies for you.
If you re from Niger Delta, you collect bursary from your state govts. While you grew up, your only window to knowledge and the world may have been NTA. Recall the educative programmes like sesame street, kiddies vision 101, tales by the moonlight. Is NTA a private Ghanian company?
Make una dey think before talking. We know say things never better but that one no suppose make us dey misyarn.

grin grin grin grin this attack lion is really hitting hard on the opposition. Why are they scared of him?
When I saw criminal past, I felt Okupe had been convicted of a crime in the past. But when I read down the line, I just found out it was mere investigation. Somebody should remind these Tinubu boys that investigation is not indictment and cannot provide sufficient grounds for the sack of a govt appointee. If investigation were to be indictment, then it means that Tinubu should be the first to be barred from participating in partisan politics. EFCC has previously investigated Tinubu and even included his name in the 2007 indictment list.
Thatnothwitstanding, Tinubu has been investigated for his assets and was arraigned recently on account of his alleged crime. These ACN goons should call Tinubu to order first before asking for the speck in Okupe's eyes.

Animal King, do you realize there are some of "us" that have NEVER lived in Nigeria but we love it like it was our home-land because we see the potential of the people and the land and know that the Govt is just taking you guys for a ride with the constant corruption? I can name at least 1 or two of those people for you right now that are constantly on-line fighting for rights which illiterate beasts such as yourself don't even know you have. No wonder you think its ok for the Govt to give you stale half bread instead of steaming Eba with hot Egusi soup laden with all kinds of meat.

My friend shut up and push your Govt to do more. 12 hr electricity is not a source of joy or reason to relax when Billions of Dollars that collectively belong to the Nigerian people mysteriously find their way into the personal offshore accounts of those gangsters you guys constantly refer to as politicians!
Whatever you like call it. What I know is that Im flexing serious light in my house in Ikeja. We have never had it this good before. I don't care what pushed govt to do it. My prayer is that the power minister will do more.

The Clerk or whatever his name is is a sorry a$$. You want them to do the job of the president while the R3tardeen only enjoys his Million naira casava bread abi?
Am so shocked to get this kind of comment from you, I use to think that you were more intelligent than this. You really hate GEJ and his administration, but verily I say unto you 1,100 of your kind of persons can't aff the president. He is born to rule this country, and that he will do. If your employers(Elrufai,Buhari,IBB)are so sincere and innocent of their involvement with Boko Harram, they should declare and condemn it publicly and go into dialogue with these so called boko Harram people(like you)from the north. When the struggle was going on in Niger delta during musa yaradua's administration(who was a northerner)there was a reason for it, and the Niger delta leaders and elder states men, including our president GEJ went into the creek to dialogue with these men and know what the problems are and it was all solved, so why can't the northern leaders and states men do the same for GEJ. You are just been too sentimental about this whole issue and the presidency. I take time to read your comments and post, but now I see that you are paid to come here and discourage people from being good citizens. BEAF YOU ARE EVIL.

If your goal is to rejoice that that power supply has improved(a la increase in power rations to your area at this time) in your tiny are of your state, go right ahead and do just that. However, when you want to speak of Power at the National level, at least visit the facts rather than come off sounding like another of the many empty-brains out there who feels that as long as they have electricity in their home, all is well in NIGERIA.
It would benefit us as a whole if we outgrew this selfish way of analyzing issues and situations.

Mighty Sparrow: What is in power? These northern elements are lazy and their only industry is government. It is just recently I began to see able bodied hausa - fulani doing 'going' or 'okada' they sell carrots, kolanut, tea, suya, etc. I have not seen (I might be wrong) a carpenter or mechanic, mason etc among them. Are they not lazy? Even in about thirty out of fifty years after independence they rule, they only steal money to enrich their privileged few. Their youths are deceived about western education while their emirs and political class send their children to most expensive schools home and abroad.
Their community is filled with filth, human dregs and squalor.
It does not matter GEJ with all his mistakes should continue or look for a sensible 'middle belt' -definitely not of this extraction or ideology-
Candidate to hand over power to. This so called northerners cannot lead us anywhere, they are senseless, and barbaric. Their communities in this age are poorest in nigeria. Imagine people that cannot give names and address numbers to their streets. No matter how many bombs they throw under whatever guises to hell with cheats.
Period.

I totally agree with you.
