@seun, why the Fashola AD? Am beginning to reason a lot of things oh, can anyone understand what I mean? Hmmm |
Last antics of a drowning union. They must find a string to clutch unto. It's that simple. I have seen a PHCN staff that was settled. He lives four houses away from mine. He told me that he got an alert from SIGMA in his RSA. That is why I believe Governments account that it's only workers without proof of appoinment letters that are yet to be paid. |
These group of greedy animals just feel they are more important than other citizens of this countr with their stupid demands. Well, when they are tired with their noise they will all shut up. GEJ is the CinC and does not take orders from anyone, they should understand that. |
One by one dem don dey go. Finally Amaechi will be the only one in that party very soon. |
Why won't all these my APC egbons face our own problems here in SW, and leave GEJ to do his work must they have something to say every time there is an issue with the FG? Abeg criticize small small, because una(APC) no holy pass. I don talk my own finish |
Mr op, you proceeded on the faulty assumption that a minister will start reeling out the ghost names and their human collaborators in that press conference. It's not possible. Time and space cannot Permit Minister Maku the opportunity to start calling names of those found wanting in the ghost workers racketeering across various Ministies, parastatals and agencies. Mind you these are civil servants and there are laid down procedures for sanctioning erring staff. I don't think a newspaper publication is one of such procedures. |
otokx: Everything always looks good on paper but Mr. Maku 2017 is far away.It is a realistic and feasible target. I commend Maku for telling us the truth about the timelines. Given the nature of work to be done on our power grid, it will take 2-3 years to complete it. But the good thing is that they have already started doing something already that will evacuate almost about 5,000MW that will be generated by the new GENCOS in 2014. I have friend that works with a Sri lankan firm that is handling the one of the Transmisdion lines and she revealed to me the intensity of work and progress on site. |
SURE P apears to have a lot of interventionist projects in so many sectors. They are the ones handling this Abuja-Lokoja road, Loko-Eweta, Kano-Maidugri Dualisation, and East-West road They are also intervening in the rehabilitation of railways from Lagos-Kano, Eastern railway line-Enugu-PH and Abuja intercity eail.etc You must have to give them due credit. |
Maku is right. It's high time ASUU is told the truth that Government cannot afford such huge amount only on them alone. There are other unions in Education sector deserving of funding too i.e ASUP, NUT etc The demand for payment of 800 billion yearly to ASUU is very unrealistic given resources available to FG. It's common sense and I don't know how those lecturers have failed to understand this. |
I will love Jonathan to come back so that the recently awarded Lagos-Ibadan expressway will not be hampered again. Obasanjo toyed with idea of concessioning of that road but it didn't work. Jonathan had to revoke the concession to bi Courtney and has awarded it to Construction giants -Julius Berger . The bank of infrastructure has announced an agreement to fund the project. It shows seriousness on the part of GEJ so I will not mind voting him once again because of that road |
I agree with them that President Goodluck Jonathan needs to continue after 2015 inorder to fix Nigeria completely. One key area that I'm very interested in is the power sector. President Goodluck Jonathan has carried out his power reforms to a level that We cannot afford to allow it crash. He has finished building some power plants and commissioning them at the same time. The Privatisation of PHCN DISCOS has been completed while that of GENCOS will soon start. It is indeed remarkable that international financial institutions have confidence in the process and have gone ahead to invest millions of dollars. Every good minded Nigerian will be optimistic about the sustainability of this privatisation process hence the need for Jinathan to continue. Thanks |
Demdem:You appear not to clearly understand the issues involved in this strike. ASUU is demanding 3 Trilllion to be spread over some years starting with 800B this year. Where is govt going to get that money from to give to ASUU (not even NUT, ASUP combined). It's impossible. How much is the Nigerian total revenue for FG? I heard its about 4 Trillion. Subsidy funds alone is about 900b, Security accounts for another 900b. It remains barely about 2-3T to be distributed amongst 28 Ministries and almost 600 agencies including Education ministry. If you share this money on the average, you will know that ASUU alone cannot take 800b |
Mekusnwa: This same president is building new silos.I will vote for GEJ in 2015 that one is guaranteed. He needs to be there to complete all these projects and consolidate on the ongoing power reforms. We don't need policy reversals at this stage so let the opposition wait till 2019 |
I think it's safer not to venture into the relationship at all.,there's a way you can make her understand that you are dating another person. So she will know there's no room for her. But please be nice to her. |
thelastPope: I would have agreed with Oshiomole but for one problem: The massive monies he has spent to promote himself in Edo State! Over 100 million was spent on artists and entertainment in the last election victory party at ring road! That is beside millions spents on TV, Radio, etc. Now that does not mean he should therefore spend money on the GGT. But what I dont agree with is grandstanding about it. If you dont agree, you simply reject it and tell the minister so instead of making it a public debate. I like Oshiomole but I must say he talks too much. He will have serious issues soon because Edo state lack funds to complete many of their projects. As much as you are in the opposition, you must align intelligently with the FG so you cant get things done. Intelligently I said, not necessarily that you should agree with FG everytime, but you must find a way as a governor to seperate politics from business relationships. A lot of the projects have been stalled because of lack of funds. So much was consumed by the last election.Fine on point. It baffles me how shortsighted and gullible some peeps can be on this forum. Suddenly, Oshiomhole has become a saint that doesn't spare a kobo for contingencies. SMH. Where was this new found love for taxpayers money when Gov Oshiomhole staged a victory party and was dancing kukere with Aki and Paw Paw on stage? Perhaps that was not taxpayers money at work but taxpayers charity? He is known to host several youth groups and Associations that besiege govt house daily for courtesy calls and awards. Most of them part with huge sums of money as PR. That is not Taxpayers money abi? When it comes to harbouring journalists and NGO's on assessment tour, it becomes a waste of taxpayers money. Baba Tuale! |
El rufai is the best person to be ignored this year. Yesterday, it was El Rufai v Jonathan. El Rufai v Obasanjo ElRufai v Atiku and today it's ElRufai v Ribadu Who's next? |
Maduale: Op, you are wrong. This list is fundamentally faulty for ever including Maku. Labaran Maku is the first information Minuster to catch my fancy in Nigeria.I Agee with you intoto. Labaran Maku hardly reads from a prepared text. He talks directly from his head and responds to any question sharply. He is very intelligent and I admire the way he talks bodly not minding whoose ox is gored. You need to see him at last December's end of year media briefing in Abuja. he was at his oratorial best chronicling achievements of this administration without recourse to a prepared speech. Brilliant! |
I salute the Op. nice analysis. The APC is an aggregation of sectional parties in Nigeria led by bigots. Tinubu is a rogue and cannot win the confidence of most Nigerians outside south West. Buhari is a cult hero in the North but he is seen as a religious bigot by the South and Middle belt. APC will be thorn along these lines and will not overcome the issue of Buhari's candidature. |
Jonathan is really working. He is doing virtually every major road in the country after 2 years of his election as president. Many road projects abandoned for ages are receiving attention. It took Jonathan to start Benin-Ore-Sagamu road. Enugu-Ph , Kano-Maidugri Dualisation etc. The govt is really trying it's best while haters keep hating |
Demdem: Fool gone are those days when i engage ur miserable kind. Instead, i will come in state my opinion and leave. The thread asked for our assesement and i gave mine which i feel is really fair.Resident madman. Your posts say it all. |
Demdem: Actually, its u that have decided to be eternally foolish. Did u see where i rated him 9.2%? do u even understand my post at all before spewing this thrash? Retardeen is afterall not totally idle.Your madness on this forum is highly underestimated. You strike me as a paid goon who is not able to sustain a decent debate on any issue you feel strongly about. Somebody has brought back railways that you have not seen for decades and you open your dirty mouth to rate 9%. Tell me any of your paymasters that fared better. Fani kayode was minister of Aviation and he left without renovating even a mini airport. Today, that woman is fixing our major airports and making them safer and beautiful for your own use, yet you come here to talk rubbish. All the former ministers of Petroluem left without any landmark reforms, but today Diezani is not only repairing refineries but she has gone ahead to reopen comatose Depots across the nation. She is the first Minister to institute probes and charge people for subsidy fraud. She will go down in history as the first Minjster to transform our energy sector with PIB. I'm so proud of her and other women like Ruqquatu and Okonjo whom Jonathan is using to reform Nigeria while you lazy about during working hours gossiping on Nairaland. |
Demdem: considering the enormous resources (human, financial etc) at his disposal over the years and comparing it with this so called acheivement, so far i score him 9.2%. Pretty not bad for a Retardeen. Why must you always fool yourself? Tackle the projects raised and discredit them. |
Countryman93: Madam OBY, Mr Maku is damn right. You decided to conceal the full details of those accounts all in a desperate but failed bid to cast the present govt in bad light. My thoughts too. Thanks for the links. |
Funny enough, the money in ECA was shared by Yaradua due to the prevailing global recession of 2008-2009. That is the purpose of ECA in the first place-to save for rainy days. That period was really rainy. There was global economic meltdown. Back home, Nigeria could not meet its OPEC quota due to cuts in oil production by Niger delta militants. FG had a budget deficit and found it very hard to fund budgets. Statutory allocations dwindled forcing pressure on Yaradua by Governors to use monies from Excess crude account . OBY Ezekwesili kept mute about these facts which are crucial to accountability of the expenditure. All the State Governors agreed and benefited from the sharing of Excess crude Acvount in those days. All the Local Givernment councils also benefited in the sharing. All of a sudden, Ezekwesili came up to accuse Jonathan of squandering 67 B. meanwhile, president Jonathan and Ngozi Okonjo Iweala have laboured hard to shore up both accounts to 9 and 44 billion respectively. Tell me why Exekwesili will raise this false alarm at this point in time when there is a cold war between Jonathan and Obj |
Àwón Òlófofò tì dé ooo! Sahara reporters and useless gossip. Wetin be dem own over Maku's testimony? Perhaps, they wished Maku to be in that Ill fated helicopter and much to their disappointment he wasn't. Im beginning to add up one or two things from this Sahara gossip. Prior to that crash, a topic came up here on Nairaland with the header " RIP LABARAN MAKU" I joined in condemning the op for wishing an obvious performer dead. Somehow the crash later happened that weekend. So is it a case of the witch cried in the night and the pikin nearly died in the morning? Whatever, I'm happy that Maku, contrary to the expectation of witches And wizards including Sahara, survived the crash. |
Abeg the man Sabi him work, and ready to prove himself anywhere and anytime. He has introduced so many reforms in the information ministry, which has really helped to draw the public closer to the government. |
The most ridiculous story ever. The reporter couldn't even tell us any figure behind the imaginary scam. He said "that he cornered 100 thousand Naira" so so ridiculous. I wanted to hear that the minister is enmeshed in 50 billion Naira scam or something. But there was nothing like that. He also left 2012 budget to attack 2011 budget which was obviously prepared by Akunyili as the then information minister. This is just coc.k and B.ull story |
FSU: When ACN does its BOT meeting, does exconvict and drug-pushing Chicago certificate forger, Tinubu, not attend?Abi ooo! |
Please next time get your facts rights, it is the same paid Sahara reporter boys that made a fool out of themselves. And these happened some months back. |
Can people stop talking and writing trash in the name of criticism, if you want to criticize please do that constructively and quit blabbing about things you don't know. GEJ is doing his best to see that this subsidy thing is sorted out, he still went as far as making the opposition the chairman of the committee to avoid a corrupt report, so all we would wait for is the implementation of this report.. |
The good thing about some of these projects is that they extend to the residents of FCT. So while it may be said that they are in Nassarawa, but the reality is that it covers some FCT residents. Take for example, the Karu power station which is expected to beef up supply to Karishi, Apo to Orozo. These towns are proximate in to FCT. And so many civil servants operate daily from here to the city centre |
Jarus: ^^^^ Forget this grammar. Spamdot is responsible for blocking all threads on Good Governance Tour? I guess Spamdot is also responsible for not pushing any of such threads to the front page inspite of its topical nature? I have complained bitterly and severally about this discrimination. At times, these threads gets to 2 pages and yet don't make front page. Talk another story joor |
