NkanAkpanika: The Ikot Oku Ikono flyover, also touted as Ekom Iman flyover by opposing elements in the State is at the finishing stage. HE. Gov. Udom Emmanuel had assured Akwa Ibom people during the last edition of “The Governor Speaks” that ALL projects will be completed before the end of his tenure", and he meant it.
For the about 2 years this project has lasted, the haters of 'Akwa Ibom Project' have used it to talk ill of the State and it's leadership, but I wonder what line they'll use when the project is handed and put to use. I acknowledge the Governor for this massive project and his concerns in initiating new ones.

Explorers: * A jury decided Mr Henry McCollum and Mr Leon Brown should received $31 million each in compensatory damages, $1 million for every year spent in prison.
* The jury also awarded them $13 million in punitive damages.
Two half brothers wrongfully sent to death row have been awarded $75 million in damages after spending decades behind bars for the 1983 rape and murder of an 11-year-old girl.
1976 school photo of Henry McCollum.
Attorneys for the men have said they were scared teenagers who had low IQs when they were questioned by police and coerced into confessing.
McCollum was then 19, and Brown was 15. Both were convicted and sentenced to death.

Incognito403: Today, I finally got to watch the much anticipated Mortal Kombat 2021 movie. Here's what I think about this movie.
Firstly, I wonder why there has been no frontpage thread about this movie. I mean, this movie is one of the biggest things this year (at least for Mortal Kombat fans).
Now to my review.
Mortal kombat should be made in series instead atleast.
1. I've watched the trailer many times on YouTube but it didn't really impress me. But that still didn't stop me from thinking about this movie.
2. I've watched the two previous movies that were done on Mortal Kombat. I didn't enjoy the first movie but then mortal Kombat, to me, is like pizza (or sex); even when it's bad it's still good. But the second movie (mortal Kombat annihilation) was a lot better in my opinion.
3. Before watching this 2021 mortal Kombat movie, I'd read reviews online and I was surprised to see poor reviews. Many people said the movie wasn't made for everyone, instead it was directed at fans of the MK video game.
4. Personally, I enjoyed the movie. And the part I loved most is the plot twist when Cole was fighting Sub-Zero. It was superb. Then there's Kung Lao's fatality. Liu's dragon. Kano and Sonya's feud was featured. Most importantly was how well the directors used Sub-Zero. He was in top form throughout the movie. Among many others.
5. I do feel the directors deliberately featured big names to appease the MK fans. For example, Goro wasn't necessary.
6. I also feel the directors tried to cramp too many features of the video game into the movie. Many went well but some didn't fit. For example, Reiko didn't do anything significant in the movie.
In summary. I enjoyed the movie and believe every MK fan will. As for non MK fans, you might be disappointed.

Geonigga: I have sometime in February this year made a post of a lady I met and who refused taking my calls one certain night and which I did a post seeking for advise here.
Let me now go straight to the recent happening in the relationship with this lady whom I met in the church and who also live in the same estate with me in fact her house is not that far from mine though she is living with her aunt.
It happened that on Wednesday being the 21st of April, 2021, when I arrived home from work, it is my usual practice to call her and when I called her that very day, she took her call and told me that she is very hungry and her reason was that she didn't like what they cooked in her house. I have to invite her over to my house and she ate very well and even took a bottle of soft drink before leaving for her house that night which I also gave her a naira note in case she wants to buy anything the following day.
The following day being the 22nd of April, as usual when I came back from work around 6:30pm, I put two calls across to her which were made in different intervals, but lol and behold this lady I thought she was my girl friend didn't pick up the calls, I remained calmed and went to bed that night.
However, during the course of the night, around 11:30pm that night my phone rang and I took the phone to know who was calling, it was this my so called girl friend that was calling, I had to ignore the call.
The following day very early in the morning she called again but I was preparing for work and I didn't want anything that will ignite sad mood on me, I have to ignored her calls even when I was at the office.
Later in the evening when I was about leaving the office she called again and I picked up the call with a mild attention, she then asked why I refused taking her calls since, I replied her by saying that she started it, this lady has to immediately end the call and up until now she has refused to take my calls or call back.
Please I really want to know who is at fault here because she is now making it look as if I am at fault but as it is I have made up my mind to call it a quit if she can not step down her pride and apologize. I will appreciate you guys opinions on this. Childish Childish Childish Childish Childish Childish Childish Childish Childish Childish |

JackDaAlienz: When i travelled to Russia to study medicine I was 23 years when I meet a very beautiful Russian girl named Yulia She was 17 turning to 18.
I loved this girl with all my heart and she was so in love with me. Infact she loved me too much. I was her first black boyfriend We dated for 2 years Then we broke up because I needed some space. We still became very close friends after the break up. Until she got a new boyfriend. She called me crying and telling me that she has not loved any guy in this life more than me. But she doesn't know what to do about this rich guy who wants her. I told her to go ahead, that if he can give her the life she always dreamed of living.
She clearly want this guy because of his money. Her new boyfriend is very rich and me I wasn't financially strong then. Her boyfriend knows I'm her ex, so he forced her to block me everywhere. We haven't talked since 3 years
I moved on like nothing happened Now I'm back in Nigeria It's been 3 years now But here is the problem No matter how hard I try to forget her It doesn't work I still get flashbacks of our love, romance and all the good times we had. No matter how hard I try, I just can't forget her.
I got into a new relationship which ended shortly because the girl I was dating said I was still in love with my ex. That I talk about my ex more than I talk about her. And it's true, I unknowingly bring up my ex in our discussion. How do I get over my ex of 3 years. I sometimes cry at night thinking about her It's so weird, I have never had this kind of bond with a girl.
How can I remove her from my mind It's like I'm spiritually tied to this girl

Romance › Re: I Lost My Boyfriend And It Was All My Fault by Bullman(m): 9:00pm On Mar 30, 2021 |
BigCabal: How we met It took me three years to get admission into the university. During that time, I was attending a tutorial in Ibadan, and that is how I met Paul, a friend of my friend. My friend introduced us and we got really close. After talking for a while, I discovered I like him. The feelings were mutual, so we started dating on my birthday, November 7th. I had just clocked 18, he was 17, and I wasn’t looking for a relationship then, but I just knew I couldn’t let Paul go away.
The thing is; I have suffered emotional abuse and have been depressed for a while now. I have been molested twice, and I couldn’t even tell my own mother because she was always so harsh towards me. It got so bad that I even had to leave home to stay with my aunt. I had attempted suicide twice, and I have a lot of insecurities. Paul was there for me anytime I needed someone to talk to. He loved me and I always wondered why. He knows all my flaws, but I still could not understand why he loves me so much.
The first mistake It was the best relationship I ever had. He was understanding, helped with my depression and academics. We never had serious fights, just a few misunderstandings over little things. Everything was going good for a year until I met some guy on Facebook, John. John and I started talking, and the chats progressed to the point where he asked me to send him nudes. I sent some with my face hidden because I was so sure I would never see him in real life. He lived in Lagos, I lived in Ibadan, and I didn’t plan on sleeping with him. Unfortunately for me, he attended the same secondary school as Paul. One day, John posted my picture on his WhatsApp status, and Paul saw it. Paul asked how he knew me, and John told him everything. Paul forgave me, but I knew he was hurt.
The second mistake In 2019, I finally got admission into University, but I somehow got scammed of my acceptance fee. I couldn’t tell my parents or Paul because I felt so stupid. Instead, lied to him that my parents couldn’t pay the acceptance fee, I couldn’t tell him the truth. Covid-19 came, so schools couldn’t resume and the deadline for payment was up. I was planning on running away cause of shame, so I wanted to break up with Paul. I was stressed. One day I went to see a friend, and I ended up drinking with him. We almost had sex, but I was on my period so it didn’t happen. I initially didn’t tell Paul about it, but I eventually told him about how I went drinking and how I almost cheated. He was disappointed but forgave me.
The third mistake The money for the initial acceptance fee was something I eventually raised, but because I was paying late, the price had increased. I was so desperate, and because my parents were having financial issues, I was ready to sleep with anyone for money for my school fees. Then, I met this guy who promised to take care of me, and I slept with him thinking he’ll help. I keep texting and sexting him so he would feel interested, but hasn’t said anything. This led to me breaking up with Paul. I told him it was because I needed time to be alone, but it was really because I couldn’t tell him I cheated on him.
The end Paul and I eventually got back together, but it was because he did not know I cheated. He found out after reading my chats, so he left. I tried explaining to him how I only did it because I was desperate, but he thought I chose the man over him.
I feel bad and selfish about what I did. He deserved better than me, and I wish he listened when I told him before we started dating. This is just the kind of person I am. When I think of the fact that the person I slept with didn’t even give me any money, I feel I lost both ways.
I will probably sink deeper into depression because I finally lost the only person that ever cared. Paul is a good person that didn’t deserve any of the things I put him through. If I say I love him, it’ll surely look like a lie because you don’t hurt those you love, but I love him. I should just have done better.

Henrymorre: I will try to make this story very short.
So I've always loved my babe, buy her stuffs, gives her money, takes her out, etc. So tomorrow is her birthday, and she has a very bad hair. We where talking over on phone yesterday, and she asked me to send her money to make her hair, plus she also said she doesn't have money to do her bday, and wants me to help her on it. Well, I wanted to help her do her bday shaa, just to make her happy, but I can't carry all the responsibilities alone, so I said no to her getting money to do her hair. I told her to make her hair by herself or wear a wig, since I will be ,
Paying for hotel Buying the cakes Buying the drinks Buying the meat Calling DJ to play song for her and her friends Plus giving her a gift..
She started acting all up, that she will do the bday with her friends that she doesn't need me in it anymore, that her friend will make her hair for free blah blah, and she will sleep over at her friends place. Etc
So guys the question, is this lady really a wife material? Or someone who is just there to eat money and go?
Did I over react? I say NO! to my gf err time If she dies she dies |

Is there anything I can do to help it too apart from climbing up to the nest to put it back there. That's not even an option because the tree is too tall.
Anybody know anything else I can do?
It looks so innocent and has been sleeping all through.

I live in a close. My house is inside another close. In fact it's a close inside a close. You won't even know people live there becos the close is kinda hidden.
These boys are a complete nuisance since they moved into the area. They have no respect for those living around.
They are always packing their Cars infront of my gate purposely to block me from coming out of my house. They make a hell of Noise. They behave like complete Touts and Agberos. You can't even have a reasonable conversation with them. (So nobody should suggest that) All they know is how to on generator from morning till night. They live in a Flat where they pay about N400k and above. The Landlord doesn't live there. When they throw party, it is the worst. They will block the entire frontage with their numerous cars leaving no place to pass.
In fact they are a complete nuisance. I dislike them with passion.
I mind my business in the area 100%. If i look at u and u dont look reasonable or behave well, I avoid u.
If they can mind their own business without infringing on other people's right, we won't have a problem at all.
I want to end it all once and for all becos they think I can't do anything but I want to show them that my silence is not stupidity.
I need help on inviting the Law into this matter. If possible EFCC.

But my insecurity was my biggest flaw. I didn't want to lose her Cuz I was scared and unknowingly pushing her away. In my previous thread, I stated that 'everyone I've loved ended up leaving eventually', and I almost never let anyone in, but In Her case, I did . I have always felt alone all my life till I met her.
All of a sudden she said she was busy with life , she was stressed and tired of my insecurity and she wanted to leave me in the relationship. This came after we had a slight misunderstanding and we didn't communicate for a week Cuz she wouldn't talk to me. It came as a shock. I'm broken and I'm still wondering where I went wrong. I need someone to talk to . I just wanna make money and work on myself. I'm about to round off school, in my final year... With all the pressure and depression I might misplace my priorities.

GLeesMODEL: *The Miracle of the brain- Melie Onyejepu*
It was Arthur Conan Doyle who exclaimed, "I am a brain, Watson. The rest of me is mere appendix". The brain is the most amazing part of the human body. It is providence most definitely precious gift to humanity. According to Joel Davis, the human brain is the last and greatest scientific frontier. It is the most distinguishing characteristics between man and other lower animals. Man was an unlikely candidate for power in a natural world where dominant adaptions were speed, agility, jaws and claws. He ascended from the stone age because he was able to dominate and control his environment using the instrumentality of the wonder called human brain. Our remarkable cognitive ability has allowed us to invent the wheel, build the pyramids and land on the moon.
Societies that recognize their cognitive abilities and it's infinite capabilities are the progressives. They measure and process data, transmit and disseminate facts, formulate new concepts and ideas, discover and invent , organize and educate, create and imagine and harness the forces of nature for human ends. Where the brain power is highly activated, human civilization is always at an acceleration pace. They push the boundaries of human existence continually and bravely explore the enormity of the universe. On the contrary, where the brain is left in its natural state of redundancy, the resultant effect is stagnation. Based on the theory of use and disuse by the French biologist Jean Baptiste De Lamarck, the parts of an organism that the organism uses the most will undergo hypertrophy and will become more developed. The developed world seem to be where the human brain is put to optimal and efficient use while the most part of African countries appears where people have abandoned the use of their brains, leaving it fallow while they consume the products of other people's brain power .
God has specially endowed man with the cognitive faculty to enable him function in an unfinished world and to become a co-creator. When God told man in Gen.3:19 this, "By the sweat of your brow thou shall eat bread", the brow stands for the grey matter, the brain. That instruction entails employing the usage of the brain to harness and conquer nature for the good of man. It is such use that enables man to create value and advance his society. Every human progress started as an idea in the brain. That ability to translate conscious thoughts into action and to organize the action for the collective good is the beginning of human civilization. The internet of things, the invention of the aeroplane, good governance, IVF are all products of the human. They stem from man's desire to transform his life and develop his environment.
The African continent is so richly blessed with human and material resources. She has everything she needs to take her rightful place on the table of human development and fulfil her potentials. Her arable land, clement weather conditions, the richness buried in her soil, her huge tourism potentials, her beautiful cultural heritage and the massive human capital is the envy of the world. Unfortunately, she has found herself stuck at the lower rungs of development, a perpetual burden on the shoulders of the developed world and a willing victim of her stunted growth. Instead of looking at the man in the mirror, she takes solace in religion, outsourcing the usage of her brain and beseiging God for things he can do himself. God already equipped him with the necessary cognitive ability to conquer and reshape his environment. Only a mad man builds a huge cathedral and then goes there to pray for a job. Even while we lack basic health facilities, the number of prayer houses and miracle centres are rising astronomically. Huge manufacturing concerns close shop and in some cases relocate to other climes due to harsh operating climate and in their stead, worship centres spring up. While we import virtually every facility that aid human life, our biggest export remains God. Conversely and hypocritically too, our rating on the corruption index is alarmingly high while other less religious climes are very low on the same index.
Our salvation lies in a conscious and deliberate realization that we are the cause of our woes and only we can save ourselves. A sustainable development should be organically grown. It requires a look within, a deployment of our mental faculties towards homegrown problem solving, a rational enquiry into the cause of things and how those things can be harnessed to better our environment and make it more habitable. Every generation has a date with destiny. They either fulfill it or betray it. This present generation of Africans can seize it's destiny and unlock the vast and largely unexplored potentials of Africa through the instrumentality of the brain. The fault is not in our stars but in our selves. Apologies to Shakespeare.
Sir Melie Onyejepu is the Anambra State Procurement Boss and writes from Awka, Anambra State. China Japan and most developed countries arent so religious like Africans but they are smart enough to know the miracle u seek may not be found in a church or a temple but can also be found in your brain. If blacks were worshiping christ and the whites came to africa with ogun amadioha sango , and told blacks jesus/jehova is not d way but sango and ogun are, i am so sure we will be having lots of shrines in almost everyones backyard now I really dont know for sure in terms of technology what africans have offered to the world to make it a better place. More than 50 countries in africa non was even involved in creating a vaccine for covid. Africans folded their hands and waited for their white God to offer a miracle when the whites went to work and finally came up with a vaccine. If colonisation havent happened , i am sure we africans will still be living in villages with d men hunting and gathering like prehistoric Neanderthal humans. For the guy above that thinks africa will be great u know thats a fat lie I have a question to ask God someday why he made one race(africans) kinda dull and the others really smart |
