This is surprising and shocking as hell. Friends and neighbors gathering at the scene where Tumelo Diphoko was murdered on Tuesday afternoon. A mum allegedly went crazy and stabbed her new boyfriend to death after he tore up a photo of her son’s dead father as reported by DailySun South Africa.

The report revealed that the incident happened while Tumelo Diphoko (42) and his 26-year-old girlfriend were relaxing together at his home at Chris Hani Square in Mangaung, Free State of South Africa, on Tuesday afternoon.

An eyewitness said the woman found a torn ID photo of her dead boyfriend, who died in 2014 and became furious. “When the mum saw the photo was torn, she asked her boyfriend if he was responsible. “He said yes, he did it because he could see she still loved her dead boyfriend!

“The photo was the only thing the little boy had left of his father, who died shortly after he was born in 2014. “The couple had lived together for a year. “The woman took out a knife from a drawer and stabbed him.

“I never thought she would do something like this.” Tumelo’s brother, Galeboe (41), said by the time he arrived on the scene after receiving a phone call about what had happened, his brother was already dead. “We will bury him soon. “There’s not much else I can say. “I hope his spirit rests in peace and justice takes its course,” said Galeboe.

Police spokesman Constable Mosili Ntsika confirmed the incident. “A 26-year-old woman allegedly stabbed a 42-year-old man in the left side of the neck, killing him. “A case of murder was opened against the woman.

She is currently in custody and will appear in court soon,” said Ntsika.

Sports Minister Dalung has been a gift from President Buhari that keeps on giving and the internet has been having a laugh at the expense of him. As the cameras rolled during a House of Reps committee meeting, Dalung let a powerful grammatical blunder which Nigerians cannot forget so quickly.

As a committee member quizzed Dalung on why he exceeded the approved funds for his Ministry, Dalung responded with the English that won't be forgotten too easily.

"The funds SPENDED were properly SPENDED"

To be fair, everybody is entitled to a grammatical blunder once in a while, so, Dalung's "SPENDED" isn't even the issue here. The issue is whether he'll admit, even in his quiet moments, that he's committed a grammatical blooper. Chances are that in Dalung's mind, he was grammatically correct. And that's the problem with Dalung.

When one doesn't know that he doesn't know, is the worst sickness in life.

President Muhammadu Buhari's sports minister has treated us to one gaffe after another; not for once admitting there were gaffes. Not for once admitting that he misspoke. Not for once admitting he's incompetent. He didn't flinch when he said Nigeria shouldn't be at the men's world cup because the competition is a corrupt enterprise.

Dalung showed no remorse when he referred to the land of his birth as the United States of Nigeria. He didn't even wince when he said no one expected the Super Falcons to win the Africa Women's Championship. And as the men's U-23 football team were left stranded in the United States days before the Olympics, Dalung asked aloud what they were doing in a camp in the U.S.

Here's Dalung in his elements: The issue of our U23 national team suffering in the United States of America is news to me. "They (Dream Team VI) didn’t tell us what they were there for and who took them there. It doesn’t mean that if somebody goes to the market and has problem then you will come and ask the ministry (of Youths and Sports). The question is who took them there? And what are they there for?

“Because they are U23 national team and they went to the US and they are having problems, does that become our business? “When they were travelling to US from your information, were you told we that we were informed? Before you (the media) asked us to account for something you should know whether we were aware of it.

“So, if somebody has a birthday of his friend and he moves his team to go and play (there) you cannot come back to ask me to account for it. If they are throwing them out of the hotel (in the US), then they should know who took them there".

Dalung is a walking embarrassment. He's been that way since November 2015. And Dalung won't stop being Dalung because he was born that way. Even Dalung can't help himself. Every comment reveals just how out of his depth he is. There have been reports that a cabinet reshuffle is imminent. Dalung should top the list of those who'll be asked to leave.

The authorities of Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local government area, ONELGA of Rivers state have condemned the recent resurgence of violence in the area. At least two persons were killed and the third kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Omoku in Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local government area, ONELGA of Rivers state. The kidnapped person was identified as Jeremiah Uche, who is a former member of ONELGA Caretaker Committee.

It was gathered that Uche was kidnapped at gunpoint at his resident in the early hours of yesterday, while two of his friends who had paid him a visit were shot dead. A source who confirmed the incident said the masked hoodlums also took the lifeless bodies of their victims, including a former President of Obrikom community Youth, Julius Amadi.

Though the Rivers State Police Command is yet to confirm the latest incident of violent attack in ONELGA, the Chairman of the LGA, Osi Olisah blamed politicians in the area for the attack. Olisah fingered leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the area for allegedly sponsoring the attack. He said the cult group that led the ambush on Police officers during the December 10th rerun elections at Ujju also carried out the attack in Omoku.

Olisah said, “ We are disturbed by these attacks. We are putting a lot of effort to restore peace in ONELGA but some people have used their selfish political ambisti ok n to erode the successes we have achieved.

“The boys carrying out these attacks are working for brothers in the APC. They are the ones that have refused to accept the amnesty of the State Government. But we don’t need these distractions. ONELGA is our own. They cause crisis and run to other places.

“Let’s come together and build our home. Politics shouldn’t divide us.

Permit me to use the phrase one of Nairaland's frequent commenter uses, "I am not understanding". And that is exactly what am feeling right now. I went to Moshood Abiola Polytechnic in Ogun State to seek for admission in HND and they refused me admission because i have a post-dated result.

I must say am surprised as am confused at the same time. I have not really heard about post-dated result in my life before. I did my ND in Abia State Polytechnic and got 3.1 in CGP which is upper credit and I used my waec and neco result to combine when i entered for the ND. Though I only made English Language D7, Abia State Polytechnic gave me admission because i chose to read Computer Science.

So during my ND days, I didn't even like the idea of combination of result so i took GCE and cleared my papers. I even used my GCE result and ND result to apply for DE in FUTO which i got but in my 4th Year, i had a financial problem and i had to withdraw from school indefinitely and regrettably. But to my surprise now, When i went to Moshood Abiola Polytechnic to apply for HND, they need 5 credits including English in Computer Science. So I can't use my WAEC & NECO combined result because i had D7 in English. I opted to use my GCE which i cleared my papers but they refused.

Reason being that my GCE result is Post-dated result. Meaning that I got the result during or after my ND result. I can't understand this stupidity and i don't know what to do. This really defies logic for me and i don't understand the essence of this draconian approach.

The United Nations Population Fund has distributed 22,224 condoms during its “Wise Up Cross River” campaign at Calabar Christmas village. Head, Monitoring and Evaluation Unit, UNFPA, Mr. Olamide Onifade, stated this via a statement he issued on Sunday in Calabar.

Onifade said that since Dec. 1 when the activities commenced at the village preparatory to the annual Calabar Carnival, 806 persons had been tested for and counseled on HIV/AIDS. “Since the commencement of the ‘Wise Up Cross River’ campaign, 22,224 condoms, comprising 21,036 male and 1,188 female condoms have been distributed alongside 3,748 information, education and communication materials.’’
“Also, of the 1,235 people that have so far visited the “Wise Up Cross River” stand in the Christmas village, eight persons (six males and two females) have tested positive to the virus,” The unit head said those who tested positive had commenced treatment and been linked with relevant bodies, such as People Living with HIV/AIDs and other necessary groups for assistance.

He said that the information, education and communication materials would further enlighten the recipients on the disease. According to him, the “Wise Up Cross River” campaign is an initiative of the UNFPA and the office of the Wife of the Governor, Cross River and other partners. “The campaign is targeted at reducing HIV/AIDS prevalence in the state, through the active involvement of the youths and the vulnerable.

“This is in line with the target of ending HIV/AIDS around the world by 2030, using the 90:90:90 strategy, developed by the UNAIDS,” he said.

Too many circumstances surrounds Nnamdi Kanu's trial which have raised a lot of concerned in Nigeria judicial system. Many people see the IPOB leader as a political detainee and judging by the strings the federal government is polling, you will conclude that the charges they even brought against him has no merit whatsoever.

However, the latest is that the federal government wants to try his case in secret. Something that have never ever happened before. Trying his case in secret, the judge is president's sister and the judge's husband and son are in custody on a case against the government, come-on, can justice ever be served in this kind of scenario? The answer is never. Well, the wife of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, Uchechi Okwu-Kanu, has said she will never allow the secret trial of her husband, saying they are willing to hold on, even if takes twenty years before her husband is set free.

Kanu is facing an 11 count charge, bordering on terrorism, treasonable felony and publication of defamatory matter. He caused a major stir in the courtroom when he was re-arraigned on Tuesday, rejecting secret trial. His wife told IBTimes UK, “The ruling is not surprising, I knew that she (Justice Binta Nyako) was going to rule against us.

“Binta Nyako is not an unfair person, looking at her previous cases, but her husband has a case with the government. “He was released, but her son is still in custody, so she would not jeopardize the lives of her husband and son for Nnamdi Kanu.”

Okwu-Kanu, who said she is not allowed to communicate with her husband, also alleged President Muhammadu Buhari is behind the trial. “They don’t have evidence against my husband, there is no case here, they have changed the charges several times. “He has been accused in the public; they killed several Biafrans in the public, so why try him in secret?

“We will never allow this to happen, even if it takes 20 years. “He was accused in the open. The trial must be conducted in the open. “We are appealing against any form of trial that would shield the public from having access to evidence against our client.

“We want a fair trial for our client. It is a right enshrined in our constitution. “How many Boko Haram members have they tried in secret? “Nnamadi Kanu is a freedom fighter, not a terrorist. Buhari should re-think this and leave this case alone, if he believes in justice.

“My husband’s health is deteriorating due to the prolonged detention.”

Nigerias Ex President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, has revealed that he was not forced by anybody, whether within the country or abroad, to concede defeat to Muhammadu Buhari in the 2015 elections.

Jonathan explained that his decision was purely because of personal principles and his belief that his ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigeria.

He said this at Bingham University in Nasarawa State, where he and another former Head of State, Yakubu Gowon, were conferred with honorary doctorate degrees.

He said: “It is my belief that no one’s political ambition is worth the blood of any Nigerian. And I am fulfilled knowing that my conceding while the votes were still being compiled, which was born out of my personal principles and convictions, is generating positive impact in other nations. Let me make it clear, that I was not persuaded to do so by anyone within or outside the country. I know it was the right thing to do.

“My mantra ‘my ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian’ is my vow. It was not just a political slogan. One of the reason I convened the 2014 National Conference was to come up with a polity devoid of tension and crisis. A polity that will bring unity to this country. A polity that will not divide us along tribal, ethnic or religious lines.”

Nigeria will represent Africa at the 2017 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Bahamas, after they crushed Morocco 6-1 in the semi-finals of the 2016 CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday.

Abu Azeez scored twice for the Sand Eagles, while Emmanuel Owhoferia, Suleiman Ogodo and Emeka Ogbona also scored for the hosts, as they clinched an easy win against Mustapha El Hadaoui’s team. Sami Lazal got the only goal for the North Africans.

A bizarre footage showing the man who managed to deal with a cobra in a matter of seconds hit the internet. It starts with the brave young man approaching the writhing reptile which is evidently nervous and angry with the people around it.

It inflates its hood as a sign of being ready to attack, however, it doesn't stop the man -- he distracts the reptile with one of his hands, while reaching the other over the snake's head. The man strokes the snake to sleep. Next moment he lifts it up, let it dangle for a moment and then puts its back down on the ground.

Amazingly, he then pets the snake on its body and head for some time until it becomes obedient and lies still. At this point, he lifts the snake, coils it around his hand and places in a bag held by his colleagu, while amused passers-by are watching the scene.
