This govt is clueless. Now they are saying 6000MW is no longer achieveable, we have always known that but i am very bittered by the statement made by Min. of National Planning who said that we now have 5200MW generating capacity, the guy is an idiot and he is trying to take us for a ride, generating capacity is not the same as actual generation and transmission that the president was so sure of as early as june this year and for good effect since 1997, we have always possessed more than 5000MW capacity but what was lacking in our ability to actually generate, transmit and distribute such capacity.

Just to call you peolple attention to an interesting development, but i am sure not many people are noticing what Darren Ferguson( Fergie's son) is doing at peterborough a league one club in england.
He took over the club last season while they were in league two, got them promoted to the present league one and once again, they are on the verge of promotion to the championship come the end of the season.
A lot of comparison is being made btw the guy and his father, with some tipping him to succeed the Great Sir himself at old trafford. I am sure he will enhance his reputation greatly if he can get peterborough promoted to the premiership in his first season at the championship.
Let me just say like father like son.

east bay, i know you are gutted about the 4-1 defeat but saying is the worst since you started watching united is step too far. remeber 2003/2004 season mancity raped us at the same satdium with the same score line, what about 2005/2006 season middlebrogh spanked us with same 4-1. but not to worry this one sorry result is just a blip in a season that is destined to be a great one for us.
united all the way.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Forever Reds by bussyankee(m): 8:16pm On Jan 28, 2009
The way we tend to rubbish oshea on this thread baffles me a lot. fine, the guy may not be top class but he has always be useful to manu cause.
remeber 2006/2007 when our revival in premiership started, which true manu fan will ever forget the match against liverpool at anfield, with
scholes already sent off, oshea from no where surfaced in box six to score the only goal that won the match for us.
What about against everton in the same season, we were down by two goals, he scored the first goal that kick-started our come back and we eventually won the match 4-2 but the importance of that win shud be measured againt the fact that chelsea was seriously closing on us.
Some people could say i am talking in the past, what about the stiker-like-goal he scored in the carling cup againt derby. He also filled in commendably for evra when he was suspended for 4 matches and since his injury started. His veratility for us is unequal ,right-back, left back,centre-back, mid-field, centre half not forgeting his goal-keeping heroics againt t'tham.
He may not be a ronaldo, he has had couple of bad games but for heaven sake the guy he is not o-shit.

BREAKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TIMES NAMED FERGIE THE MOST POWER INDIVIDUAL IN BRITISH SPORT.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been named the most influential man in British sport.

The Scot topped the Times newspaper's Power 100 list ahead of London 2012 chairman Lord Sebastian Coe and Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour.

Ferguson, 67, took over at Old Trafford in 1986 and has won more trophies than any other manager in British football.

Jeremy Darroch, Sky TV chief executive, was fourth and Dave Brailsford, British Cycling performance director, fifth.

Explaining why Ferguson came out on top the Times commented: "He has been shaping our sporting lives for decades, to the extent that he is atop our summit, and the hard part is not establishing where his power starts but where it ends.

"Ferguson's leverage goes way beyond a Godfatherly presence among his peers. If the modern Premier League is a global phenomenon — and it is the most watched and wealthy sporting franchise on the planet — then Ferguson is its founding father.

"It was he who built the modern megaclub that is Manchester United, the giant flagship of the Premier League enterprise."

Before being appointed Manchester United manager, the Scot was in charge of Aberdeen where he won the Scottish League title on three occasions and also has success in Europe, winning the Uefa Cup Winners' Cup and Uefa Super Cup.

606: DEBATE
Are the Times right to name Sir Alex Ferguson top of their Sporting Power 100 list?
United are currently World, European and Premier League champions and Ferguson continues to look to add to his haul of 10 Premier League, five FA Cup, two Champions League and two League Cup titles.

Coe won 1500m gold at the 1980 and 1984 Olympics and was instrumental in bringing the Olympic Games to London in 2012.

The 52-year-old also set a number of world records and is a former MP, chairman of Fifa's ethics committee and vice-president of the IAAF, the world governing body of athletics.

The Times said: "He will be remembered as one of British sport's greatest statesmen."

Putting Sheikh Mansour at number three on the list, the newspaper said the impact of his riches "has been seismic" and that "there is every chance he will top this list next year if he achieves his goal of transforming City."

The oil-rich Sheikh, a member of the royal family of Abu Dhabi, bought City in summer for about £200m and is reportedly worth about £15bn.

The Eastlands club have already flexed their newfound financial muscle with a bid of £100m for AC Milan star Kaka, only to be rejected by the Brazilian, but did the seal the signing of Robinho from Real Madrid in September for £32.5m.

Billionaire Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich was sixth in the list, England and on-loan AC Milan midfielder David Beckham seventh and England manager Fabio Capello eighth.

"MADRID (AFP) – Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez will be a Real Madrid player next season, the Marca sports daily reported on Friday.

"Tevez said 'yes' to Madrid, for next season," claimed the newspaper which added that a deal between Real and the Argentine international has already been signed.

Real are desperate for reinforcements having seen Dutch striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy ruled out for at least six months with a right knee injury suffered in the Champions League defeat to Juventus in October.

Real are fourth in La Liga, five points behind leaders Barcelona."

This marca people have started again. They couldnt succeed with ronaldo, now is tevez turn.

Now that Sir Alex two matches touch line ban starts today,
i hope mike phelan can hold forth for the gaffer, so that we dont suffer the same fate like last season when we dropped point during the same scenario,
as we can not afford to do same now not when we are a bit behind pool and chelsea.

Emperor, just to correct your other post that aside from FA cup that CR7 has won all other trophies. Ronaldo has won for manu all the the trophies in england including the FA cup against Millwall in 2004, he even scored in the final match.
The guy will emerge a United hero and legend in as much he listened to Sir and stay some more years in united afterall bryan robson tried to leave united along the line in his career but after good advice from fergy, he stayed, the rest they say is history, He is now a united global ambassador.
With the way, ronaldo his playing, all the not coming out quick to deny real bid will soon be forgiven and a true legend will emerge out of ronaldo.
cheers

i ve often heard about the good and ills of internet. it is pretty clear that Eastbay is one the disadvantages of the world wide web. This jobless kid( count the the number of his idiotic posting) and enemy within(faithful red devils) is taking advantage of the freedom internet offer to display his  lunancy insulting people that can conveniently foot his entire education. just check out his myopic and imbecille reasoning and posting. personally i dont like joining issues with people but its often said if you allow a fool to talk without you given him adequate and appropriate response he thinks himself as the wise one. Trust me after this i not going to respond to any of your fuckery beacuse the Yorubas will say let call madman the oko-iyawo so that he can allow us to pass.
I trust you will respond to this with speed because you are so idle, meanwhile i am back on my desk closing serious financial deal.

Christianity EtcRe: Redeemed Church Opens World's Biggest Auditorium, Costs N7.7b by bussyankee(m): 12:36pm On Dec 13, 2007
Benit baby, u are spot on, if the auditorium is a giant cinema house or a big shopping mall, it will be welcomed by majority of the people, u will not see people talking about charity or spending money on less privilege instead of expending same on building a convinient place of worship. Billion of naira was spent in constructing silverbird galleria and
palms shopping mall, i have not heard these same people complaining on this thread raise a voice against such "frivolities"

And again majority of the complainers-in chief might have not worshiped at R.C.C.G camp, otherwise they should have seen for
themselves that the auditorium(without wall) is a sure necessity and not out of personal showboating of the humble G.O.

were doing in the last five years which brings me to my poser do you still consider your self very poor or has your condition improve in the last five years?

Bros, i,m not saying dis to kill ur spirit, but i dont see FBN hitting N70 after their year end, granted that they might hit about N35b PAT excluding the N10B windfall from FGN but u cant compare the EPS of both FBN anb UBA because by the time the hybrid offer of FBN is listed, FBN outstanding share will be in the
region of 20B and u no wat dat will do to the EPS, i am seeing FBN doing N58-N60 year end.cheers

The market is still bullish in most sector of the market but
the same cannot be said of transcorp, weeks ago when the
price came crashing to below N3.5, my friend and I analysed
that it cannot get any worse, so we decisively plunged into it hoping
to reap buontifully in not too distant future, then came the news
that they gonna gross 4.3trillion in 3years, then we experience
price rally to about N3.9 but events in the last few days have been
so discoraging, just when they did re-launch of M-tel services in Abuja,
we started hearing that that govt is set to review the sale of Nitel/Mtel
to transcorp and if feelers we are getting is anything to believe, Transcorp
is set to lose Nitel/Mtel and we know thatthis is major plank of which they are
basing their earnings. I am thinkin of offloading my stake or drastically reducing
exposure in the conglomerate? or what do you people think.

The usual suspects are Manu, Arsenal, liverpool and Chelsea pricinpally
cos of what they have achieved in the past, but looking at the four clubs
based on the recent past(last 15years) and the future prosoects,i can
guarantee the club that will give you the most satisfaction and minimal
heart-break in Manutd. With a forward line that includes the versatile
wayne rooney, the skillful ronaldo, the energetic tevez and midfied that
comprises youthful and brillant players in the mould on nani and anderson,
not to forget the old reliables like giggs and scholes, there can be a better
club to support. take my word, bro
