The NHIS is a health insurance scheme for Nigerians. It was easier to operate with federal civil servants because the premium was deducted from their salaries at source. Now Health Maintenance Organisations (HMO) operate private health plans for non federal workers which are the same as what civil servants enjoy in the scheme. Only difference is that while civil servants have no idea how much they pay, because it is deducted before salary is paid, others pay their premium upfront since nobody regulates your salary as a private worker or artisan.

With N20k per annum, an individual can access healthcare anywhere in Nigeria even though you will choose a primary hospital.
The very same benefit federal workers enjoy is the same benefit the individual enjoys too.

OP , you need to answer the devil's son and get what you want. Come in one day with blazing eyes, send them all out and shut your door. Don't give room for explanation, they need to know that you ve got it in you to behave themselves. In my culture, the girl's father owns the child. Even if you end up marrying her tomorrow, it's left for him decide if you deserve the child or not. A child out of wedlock belongs to the girl 's father in my tradition.


In a case of divorce, the man is not keeping any kid, the court decides that. Except their mother isn't interested, otherwise courts intervention might be necessary.

But nothing replaces African traditional marriage. No matter how pared down or flamboyant.

We are a communal lot and our marriage system is part of our ingrained beingness.

Obviously an offending baggage one will have to carry around in order not to bruise tender hearts .
