Are you crying about Bakassi?
Begin divide I say. . . .mu che che che che che

Bakassi was never yours in the first place. . . .

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bakassi

History

During the European scramble for Africa, Queen Victoria signed a Treaty of Protection with the King and Chiefs of Akwa Akpa, known to Europeans as "Old Calabar", on 10 September 1884. This enabled the United Kingdom to exercise control over the entire territory around Calabar, including Bakassi. The territory subsequently became de facto part of the republic of Nigeria, although the border was never permanently delineated. However, documents released by the Cameroonians, in parity with that of the British and Germans, clearly places Bakassi under Cameroonian Territory as a consequence of colonial era Anglo-German agreements.

Interestingly, even after Southern Cameroons voted in 1961 to leave Nigeria and became a part of Cameroon, Bakassi remained under Calabar administration in Nigeria until ICJ judgement of 2002.[4]

More education:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigeria#Post-independence

Post-independence

On 1 October 1960, Nigeria gained its independence from the United Kingdom. Nigeria's government was a coalition of conservative parties: the Nigerian People's Congress (NPC), a party dominated by Northerners and those of the Islamic faith; and the Igbo and Christian-dominated National Council of Nigeria and the Cameroons (NCNC) led by Nnamdi Azikiwe, who became Nigeria's maiden Governor-General in 1960. Forming the opposition was the comparatively liberal Action Group (AG), which was largely dominated by the Yoruba and led by Obafemi Awolowo.[19] The cultural and political differences among Nigeria's dominant ethnic groups: the Hausa ('Northerners'), Igbo ('Easterners') and Yoruba ('Westerners'), were sharp.

An imbalance was created in the polity by the result of the 1961 plebiscite. Southern Cameroon opted to join the Republic of Cameroon while northern Cameroon chose to remain in Nigeria. The northern part of the country was now far larger than the southern part. The nation parted with its British legacy in 1963 by declaring itself a Federal Republic, with Azikiwe as its first president. When elections were held in 1965, the Nigerian National Democratic Party came to power in Nigeria's Western Region.

When Nigeria wanted independence. . . it was granted TO NIGERIANS. . . .Nigerians from all tribes AGREED.
Even when the ARABA movement was halted. . . IT WAS THE NORTH'S CHOICE TO REMAIN IN NIGERIA TOO.

Then a series of events originating from the first coup to the Biafran nuisance convinced the world why Nigeria should never be split.
1. Lack of trust
2. Lack of love
3. Lack of discipline
4. Lack of spirituality

I wonder what i t would look like if they amalgamated without a willing and mutual agreement the way Nigeria was formed.

Can we drag Britain to the World court for their greedy in mis-amalgamating Nigeria?

Millions have died over this thing and the numbers are still rising.
No! Nigeria was a willing and mutual agreement. . . btw Ahmadu Bello and co against the British.
What changed all that was the first coup. . . which brought out the TRUE nature of Nigerians.
The SAME problems we had yesterday. . . today and for ever more!
No! you can't drag the British to the World Court because YOU DID NOT COMPLAIN THEN. . . .
You should have stated that in the beginning WHEN NEGOTIATING WITH THE BRITISH!
Millions are dying because of PLAIN STEWPIDITY.

An over-fed goat NEVER EVER remembers where to defecate. . . the problem with Nigeria AND NIGERIANS. kiss

halfcurrent: Guy,
FYI, Andrew Efemini’s did not just start his activism today; he has been doing that since his days in school (UNICAL). He has always fought against social injustice. I know him personally, we were together in UNICAL; he graduated in 1988, when I was in year 2 (I graduated in 1990); what I can tell you is that Andrew was and (am sure) still is a man on integrity.
Babes. . . .
I said no comment! I refuse to castigate or sympathize with him.
His case is of no relevance to the ALUU killings. . . .He only stuck his 'nosy neck' out for nothing.
Did I remove him from office?
Or is my post the only one on this thread?
I am only speculating on his 'untimely' interference.

Stiv: We are hypocritical in nature. If you offer a view that is different from the norm, people will rush to insult you without even thinking. In naija, people lynch suspected criminals because the police is ineffective in handling crime. Is Aluu the first community to lynch? We have turned lynching to a culture and sometimes the wrong people are caught. It's sad.

@bittyend and @callotti offered another angle to the story. because it doesn't conform to the thinking of the general mind doesn't mean we should shout them down with insults.

Thanks.
Na wah o!

These are the SAME PEOPLE THAT WILL KILL JESUS COME THE SECOND COMING.

Your inability to intellectually engage the truth about the Nigerian situation is appalling.

Still more appalling is your recourse to war/violence as the only way to gain sovereignty.

Updated June 12, 2012
Since 1990, 34 new countries have been created. The dissolution of the USSR and Yugoslavia in the early 1990s caused the creation of most of the newly independent states.

You probably know about many of these changes but a few of these new countries seemed to slip by almost unnoticed. This comprehensive listing will update you about the countries which have formed since 1990

Armenia
Azerbaijan
Belarus
Estonia
Georgia
Kazakhstan
Kyrgyzstan
Latvia
