Realguyman1: It maybe this commissioner is talking about another Lagos somewhere else, "maybe in Chad or Burundi". This can't be the Lagos Tinubu turn to Paris when he was governor of Lagos State(according to senseless APC supporters). Why can’t it be Lagos? Is it a challenge faced by Lagos state only? It is a national problem, with governments failing at all levels. The commissioner was simply honest, with the status of PHCs in Lagos. I am not a supporter of Tinubu, but the fact remains that leaders at all levels travel out of Nigeria to attend to their health matters, stylishly destroying those left for other Nigerians. Look, it is time to wake up and hold our leaders accountable for all their atrocities. It is also time to vote for only those right persons who we can hold accountable all Nigerians. |

Shameless people.
That’s what you get when councillors and LG chairmen are appointed as means of settling the lower part of the political leadership positions. What you experience is complete mediocrity, disgrace and wastage of resources during their tenures. All you hear from them is the construction of toilets, painting of walls, renovation of secretariats, sweeping of markets and different worthless jobs to siphon funds.
The local governments are supposed to bring governance to communities with life changing projects. It is impossible to know your local government chairman, talk less of your councillor. They make themselves very difficult to access and seem to give a lot of powers to their SAs. An example is their supervisors on environments. Those ones appear like tin gods and carry themselves as the chairmen.
No local government owns a single caterpillar. Even the ones who own, are not able to maintain them. With caterpillars, they can fix roads. They need to fix drainages to make movement easier for citizens. They need to put restive youths to work, employing them on daily payments to clear drainages and sweep the roads.
We as citizens need to wake up and hold leaders accountable all the time. Until we are able to do so, our communities will remain underdeveloped. |

Boss469: I see nothing wrong in that interview.
Ronaldo said Erik ten hag disrespected him so, why should he respect him back?
As for glazers the heat that is coming for them believe me they won't continue next season. Everything was wrong bro. If Ten Hag disrespected him, his interview disrespected the entire club. When he chose to return to Man U, everyone was excited, but his game had left him. He cannot play football all his life. That’s why you hear the words “football age”. Your coach respects you when you meet his standards, especially for a club like Man U, with their present struggles. If you fail to meet up, you are dropped, nothing more, nothing less. |
Sports › Re: Ronaldo's Interview: Man United Will React After Facts Have Been Established by Cantonese: 4:25pm On Nov 14, 2022 |
Na wah.
Ronaldo and his advisers did not make the appropriate transfer decision when he was leaving Juventus. I think he overrated himself. He’s standard definitely dropped and teams like Man U demand high standards all the time.
Messi made a transfer decision when he left Barcelona.
Going to a very strong league like the English league was a wrong move for Ronaldo.
Ronaldo needs to get back to the drawing board with his advisers. I think he should go to the American League. |

Politics › Re: Can Tinubu’s $460,000 ‘settlement’ In Drug Trafficking Case Disqualify Him? by Cantonese: 11:03am On Nov 14, 2022 |
ladiguy: It is proper but the case has been cleared. When you enter into plea bargain (In USA ), the case is gone for life. If you drag him to court in USA, you won’t get any positive result. Tafa balogun (former IG) got a response from the American authority then and he was told he had no case to answer and as for Obi Cuba. He is lucky to be invited by Nigerian law enforcement agency. You and I know how things goes here. So, I’m not disputing the fact that he might have or agree to it.
The basics is that he has no case to answer. If I were to be Tinubu’s advocate, the defense argument would be, one can have funds in your account without you knowing what the owner of the funds do or how it was acquired. Any close associate can wire funds into your account and give you Wrong info about the funds. He has no case to answer, but the matter to determine is if that plea bargain and forfeiture amounted to a conviction. If so does that amount to a conviction, in the eyes of the law? Do you understand it now? |

sangresan: Javier Gonzalez was carrying $10,000 cash in a briefcase and got pulled over in Texas; deputies handed Gonzalez a waiver, that if he signed over the money and did not claim it later, he would not be arrested, but if he refused to sign the waiver, Gonzalez would be arrested for money-laundering.[18] Gonzalez signed the waiver wondering if the officers were real "officers of law" and wondering if he got robbed, but later sued the county, which lost, and returned his cash plus paid him $110,000 in damages plus attorney's fees.[18]
Matt Lee of Clare, Michigan, was driving to California with $2,500 cash when pulled over by police in Nevada, who seized almost all of the cash under suspicion that it was a "drug run"; Lee hired an attorney who took half as his fee, leaving Lee with only $1130 remaining.[35] I just couldn't believe that police could do that to anyone ... It's like they are at war with innocent people.
— Matt Lee, interviewed in The Washington Post, 2013[35] Tan Nguyen. In 2008, a federal judge ordered $50,000 returned to a man after police seized the money during a traffic stop in Nebraska, after reviewing a recording of the seizure in which a sheriff's deputy suggested that we "take his money and, um, count it as a drug seizure".[16] Tan Nguyen's $50,000 was confiscated by police during a traffic stop, and the county agreed to return the funds after a legal challenge.[36] In May 2010 a couple was driving from New York to Florida and they were stopped by police because of a cracked windshield.[35] During questioning, the officer decided that $32,000 cash in the van was "probably involved in criminal or drug-related activity", seized it, shared it with federal authorities under equitable sharing.[35] The victim hired a lawyer to get back the seized money who urged settling for half of the seized amount, and after the lawyer's fees, the victim got back only $7,000.[35] A 2013 The New Yorker piece detailed abuses in Tenaha, Texas, where police would target out-of-state drivers using rental cars, often not issuing traffic tickets, and disproportionately pulling over African Americans and Latino-Americans.[10] Police sometimes ask stopped motorists to sign "roadside property waivers", which, unless signed, threaten criminal charges unless valuables are handed over; the waivers say, in effect, that victims will not contest the seizure in exchange for not being arrested.[10] That’s what you find in countries where cashless policies work. Their $10k is almost equivalent to our N10m. Surely you expect our police to pull you over, with that amount in your briefcase. Hopefully we can step up on our cashless policy in 2023. It helps the economies a great deal. |

ladiguy: Not disputing that. Recently Obi Cubana was invited by NDLEA funds was traced into his account by conducted drug baron residing outside (Far East) naija. You can’t take Tinubu’s to the US and you get any positive response. He has no case to answer. Make una calm down.... Ok, let’s take it from your view that the cases are similar, in that they are crime related. Cubana was either invited or arrested by the Police, on the basis of what we were informed. The onus of proof rested on his, based on the facts presented to him by NDLEA. The matter has not escalated beyond that, at least as we know for now. We have been told that Tinubu had a friend who lived with him in the USA. The guy was a drug peddler. The guys funds found their way into Tinubu’s account and was seized, according to Tinubu’s side of the story. He has so far not denied the name Bola Tinubu. He went his way, not knowing that destiny would bring him to contest for the highest office of the nation. Tinubu himself is an advocate of accountability with leadership. He did not prove that the funds did not belong to him or its source. Politics aside, is it not proper that his name is cleared? Is it not proper for Nigerians to question the source of wealth of all their leaders? |

Kobonaire234: Simple explanation...the cost of importing fuel has gotten to a point where subsidising it is a struggle. Add the bad roads, lack of investment in the railways, and the fact that subsides has forced the oil sector to run at a loss for decades...meaning there isn't enough money for pipelines systems...and you get the problem
My fellow Nigerians, it is time we listened to GEJ, NOI AND SLS from 2011...and removed subsidy. Yes, fuel will cost N492 at least, but yes, we would have enough profit to ensure continuous flow of fuel, and no more losses due to fraudulent subsidy payments, and also smuggling.
And enough profit to make domestic refining profitable...meaning Dangote is going to face competitors.
P.S
If you feel like losing your cool or temper with me for this comment...go ahead. I won't respond...but I will direct you to this.
Also, if you voted for Buhari in 2015 because he promised 40 naira fuel...you see why that was a bad idea. There is no such thing as cheap fuel folks. Subsidy must go.
PPS
See the image below...
See the figures for 2011...when fuel was N65 , and see why GEJ wanted subsidy gone? See 2016, after prices went up from N87 to N145...see what happened? (sarce) So simple to say. Two things quickly: 1. What happened to APC’s promise to build refineries and fix old ones? 2. What has happened to curb corruption in the system? |

udemzyudex: What gave Wike the audacity to contest? He was among the people shouting that the ticket to be thrown open when they know it's the turn of South East to take the position in PDP. 100%. You got it clearly. That’s where the problem arose. They said “throw it open”, rather than micro zone it to the SE, whose turn it was. Now they have lost the SE. Wike sent Umahi first and then Obi out of the PDP. Wike’s ambition landed him where he is today. With his money, he thought that he could buy all the delegates over. He’s move backfired. He insists on zoning the chairmanship to the south only out of pride and anger. Atiku is never straight forward. Look at his relationship with OBJ and others thereafter. His words cannot be relied on. Ayu has been Atiku’s personal man for too many years. It is in the power of Atiku to ask Ayu to resign. Ayu’s resignation will heal the party. But they say “who the gods want to kill, they first make mad”. Atiku is getting served from the same pot that he served GEJ. He is more desperate for the presidency than emi lo kan himself. His greed cost him the position in 2007. With 5 of their 13 states out of the calculation, Atiku needs to sort out with Wike. Anything short of that will result in a disastrous outing for PDP. |
