Aside from that, LG chairmen are appointed to bring development to communities, complementing the efforts of the states and FG. Their jobs would be made easier, if their funds are not managed for them by the states.

Roads can either be newly constructed or caterpillars/graders used to make the roads. That way streets can be opened to enable enhanced movements for humans and goods. Most of the LG areas do not have even one single caterpillar.

Again, LGs can employ our youths to do clean up in their areas, while they are paid decently. There are so many things that the LGs ought to do, as their responsibilities, to bring development closer to the people. Commissioning toilets, etc are meaningless, especially as they are not of use to most people in the LG area. I also wonder how they can be proud of building secretariats, while too many very important structures are left.

In all, let’s vote for the right leaders. We want accountable leaders.
