Sage: Sorry.

Look at 26 sec. for offside.

Sage - Thanks for the clip

I couldn't watch the match, but that clip says it all - FRAUD!

If this match happened in a South American country, that referee will not see tomorrow's sunlight!

Two frauds there - (1) A clear offside, (2) Diving by Uruguay #9, leading to a RED card!

This referee is an ASSSSSSSSSSSSS! (And I don't use that word lightly! wink)

My colleague thinks the poor officiating may not be unconnected to the damn VUVUZELAS!!

That yeye referee HATES vuvuzelas. . . and the vuvuzelas went silent today  sad

Why would a country's anthem be about the continent, and it's silent about the country  huh

That's wierd.

World Cup post-game: Argentina 1, Nigeria 0

Man of the match
If not for the heroic efforts of Enyeama, Nigeria could have easily lost by a much larger margin. The Nigerian goalkeeper made a handful of highlight-reel saves, including several on Messi.

"Every player, if he is being honest, will tell you there is something strange about the ball - It is different to what we are used to and it gives keepers a big problem – like we saw today." - Robert Koren (Slovenia's Captain) who fired the long-range shot the Algerian keeper fumbled.

There may be come credibility to the complaints against Addidas' Jabulani ball, if the goal-scorer says the ball is weird, no?

I still don't understand why a religious Minister would lead a political party.  huh

Civil rights groups (e.g. Dr. Martin Luther King's SCLC) and other activists groups (e.g. Pastor Tunde Bakare's SNG) are exceptions, because they are not vying for office.

Foreign Affairs › Ahmadinejad Calls U.N. Nuke Sanctions 'Worthless Paper' by canuck(op): 5:04pm On Jun 11, 2010
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Friday dismissed new sanctions aimed at punishing his country for failing to halt part of its nuclear program, calling the latest U.N. resolution "a worthless paper."

Rather than impeding Iran's development, the resolution "may have an impact on our country by expediting the pace of our development," he said.

After almost one year on NL, I still recall the scerenity and calmness that hit me the first time I visited Sections where people get together for fun (Jokes), intellectual exchanges (Literature/Writing), gossip (Celebrity), or hobbies (Computers/Internet/Phones/Music).

Politics and Religion are lightning rods for a mixed multitude - Every conceivable character known and unknown to the world of Psychology and Social Science dey here. . .in triplicate (minimum).

One last interesting observation - There seem to exist a Chinese Wall between the peaceful and firebrand Sections - That is , it is not widespread that you see a poster who is active on both divides.

@ OP

In Nigeria (at least in the South West), I know that there's a certain devotion to (and probably a superstitious belief about) Mondays - As in what you do on that day will determine the rest of your week. So, most people just get up and go! cheesy

To add a different perspective, Mondays (and Fridays) are low-congestion mornings in the US! (According to Inrix, who supply data to in-car satellite navigation systems)

Speculations are that most Americans call-in "sick" on Mondays than any other day!

Teachers should be made to pass teaching & subject-knowledge tests every two years or so, based on new/updated materials.

Many of the teachers have not cracked open a new book since graduating from Teachers College!
