Nonsense and idiot quota system commanders, even when Sheikh Gumi have given you clue on the bandits and their ammoury you are still leading your men into an ambush to be slaughtered like chicken creating widows and orphans unnecessarily.
Disband the Nepotic military and start fresh recruitment of patriotic citizens than wasting our tax money on incompetent personell.
What am I even saying when the current Chief of Army Staff lost 76 men in one operation and was removed for incompetence only to be appointed Army Chief by Buhari and his nepotism, after all Buratai said he was appointed because of friendship Buhari has with his father.
Meanwhile, because a man from Bayelsa is supposed to take over the police by seniority they had to extend the tenure of the current IGP sad
The compromised media should continue calling these terrorists 'bandits' until it will get to their publishing house
I am with you. Nigeria would be better off without military. Waste of resources.

its just criminals, yahooboys, oloshos, armrobbers etc etc disguising.
there are better things to protest about , like light bill hike, bad roads claiming lives, spending too much for data. etc etc.
i am never support some idots coming to demonstrate because of a tollgate.

that is by the way.
what i learnt from this is that if the nigerian govt wants to fight crime, insecurity, fulani herds men, boko haram etc , they can do it.

Nobody would have thought of any protest if government is doing the right thing.

#OccupyLekkiGate: One Protest Nigerian Youths Should Have Avoided

By Umani Uwemedimo

In the early hours of Tuesday this week, I saw on social media platforms that Omoyele Sowore was leading Nigerian youths for another protest tagged "occupy Lekki toll gate". First thing that came to my mind was "will we ever learn?

On the 20th of October 2020, armless Nigerian youths went to the streets to express their dissatisfaction over police brutality, bad governance and some other pressing issues affecting us as a people. With the national flag on their hands while chanting the national anthem, security forces allegedly opened fire on them, while some were arrested. On this day, it was not only about the #EndSars protest or protesters. It was about the wanton and unconstitutional massacre of Nigerians, with the National flag in their hands, same tied round their necks, in a Nigerian soil, by the same group of people that were supposed to protect them and their properties.

I believe Nigerians would not forget in a hurry, the ugly scenario of 20th October 2020.

After this erroneous crime, those in government lied not to have any knowledge of who gave the order of 20/10/2020 for armless protesters to be shot at Lekki Toll Gate as so claimed. The Lagos State governor claimed innocent, Ahmed Bola Tinubu claimed innocent, all service chiefs claimed innocent, and I don't want to be told that our President, General Mohammadu Buhari had anything to do with that rascality. President Buhari I know would be many things, but I can swear with my blood that he knew not, what transpired on that faithful night. I repeat, President Buhari cannot, and will never order any section of our armed forces to open fire at armless citizens.

Few days later, the military came up to divulged that there was no shot fired, no life lost, and none injured on the faithful night of 20/10/20. Same was said at the court where helpless Nigerians approached to seek restitution. Even the court of competence insisted that the protesters have no evidence to backup the claims of the alleged disheartening massacre. Till date, we as Nigerians are yet to get justice for our brothers and sisters we claimed were shot at Lekki toll gate, and this is enough reason why we shouldn't have planned for any form of protest again. At least not at the moment.

I don't know if we, Nigerians would ever learn! We cried out few months ago how our brothers and sisters were allegedly massacred at the Lekki toll gate, and today, we're on the same location for another protest. What point are we trying to make? If one more life is lost, then the sacrifices of our fallen heroes on the 20/10/20 would be in vain. They didn't sacrifice their lives for us to die the same way.

Few days back, the inspector general of police had advised that the #OccupyLekkiTollGate protesters should stay away from the toll gate. That was government giving an order, so why on earth would one do the otherwise? Every blessed day, my dad kept telling me that government is the god of the land: you can't fight nor flaw it. So if the government of the day had issued a warning, I believe it is in our place to obey. Or if we so much love protest that we can't hold on, they would have gone to another location for the sake of peace.

I have gone through all the released videos and pictures, I'm yet to find Omoyele Sowore at the Lekki toll gate. How on earth would one organize a protest, but he's not there to lead same?

It is saddening that Nigerian youths have allowed themselves to be used by people who want to score a cheap political point. Now that many of them have been arrested, was Sowore there to help them? This protest is one thing we should have avoided.

Sowore said the aim for the protest was to get justice for those families whose relatives were massacred during the #Endsars protest of October 20, 2020. But how on earth would one seek after justice with protest? Every sane minds would know that the best place to seek for justice is at the court of competence. So why sacrifice the lives of our youths on the altar of selfishness and hatred for the government of the day?

It is factual that the Mohammadu Buhari led administration has failed Nigeria and Nigerians woefully. But seeking after amends with protest wouldn't help anyone at a point like this. Protest at a time where the nation's security is entirely threatened is not good enough. The issues of ESN, IPOB, Sunday Igboho, killer Fulani Herders, Boko Haram and other pressing issues have already threatened our collective peace. We should know when to for certain approaches.

Nigerian youths, It is time to go home.

Umani Uwemedimo, an activist and public affairs analyst writes from Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
If Nigera is not restructured, there would be more protests and protests with government clamping down on protesters. Vicious circle will continue until Nigeria burns! Future is bleak

After some protesters have been taken away by the Police force ,then came the lady who, after some protesters had been taken away, walked to the protest site, came on her own as a solo protester, and identified her name as Helen Light.

Miss Helen Light shared so much sorrow and emotion as she yelled out loud about the problems the average Nigerian youth in the country is going through, she also tells the media that she is a hairdresser, a fashion designer, a tailor, and a dancer as well.

Under the hot burning sun, the young solo protester poured out her feelings so loud from her heart, inspiring the youth to wake up as she could be seen crying and screaming.

Politics › Re: Why There Are Many Northerners In The Nigerian Army by capitalzero: 9:36pm On Feb 13, 2021
Glorious era of Nigeria army has gone. Most southern youths would not join army as recruits but as officers. It is lack of jobs that make some of them join army.
Most youths from south are interested in making money.
Nigeria army is not longer potent like before. Nigeria army of northern extraction( excluding middle belt) cannot defeat armed militia from south. Middle belt people are wise now. Gowon and his people were fooled now. Era of one north, one people and one God has gone, thanks to Jihadists.
