Richy4:
Some snakes can make their way right from the rooftop into an open vent pipes and find itself at the toilet base.. it is not always the lid matters.. it's just a common occurrence in Australia..
You are very correct. The situation is quite common in Aus. My earlier submission is also the advice given to several households in Aus.

A snake entering the bowl from the rooftop will not be able to keep the lid fully open. The cover is designed such that if the snake prise open the lid and enter the bowl, the lid will fall back and close on it.

The earlier water closets were not produced with lid. I guess over time due to these kind of incidents, cover was introduced.....And I'm not talking of all these cheap Twyfords and other Chinese products.

If you see original Twyfords and other good brands you will notice that the lid (bowl cover) is really very weighty. Some are even made of strong furnished wood.
Family › Re: The Menace Of Snakes In The Toilet Bowl: It's Scary by CaptainFM1: 4:25pm On Nov 24, 2021
Very important toilet practice that people overlook:

1. The toilet bowl should always be closed.

2. You should always flush the bowl before opening the lid. This may not necessarily flush the reptiles away, but it will splash and dangle while the water is gushing on it. That is enough for you to suspect something inside.

Also hygienically, you won't get to see someone else poo or wee just in case the person forgets to flush after his/her business.

3. And when you are done with your business, remember to flush the bowl and close the lid.

I so much hate it when toilet lids are not closed.

We're so blessed in this country with little or no natural disasters. Na only man-made disasters de wahala us.
We've destroyed the Eco system globally. We are not so blessed or protected like you think. The sun scorch us 5times more than it used to be in the 80's. The rain pours in torrents causing severe and increase flood. Whilst our own natural disasters are not yet pronounced, it is a matter of time the climatic factors will build up to a huge consequential effect.

They are regrouping again to put the masses in perpetual pains. The youths need to put up a thinking cap or else these agrarian and useless men in politics will continue to mortgage the future just for their own benefits. They have started packaging rice, beans and indomie again. They know the masses are not wise, so the best is to buy them with little in order to put them in untoward suffering for another eight years again. If these people manipulate this country again then nothing can savage this country again. A word they say is enough for the wise.
Don't expect much from the masses. Our politicians have mastered how to weaponise poverty. It's just so shameful but that's the truth. Our people would rather satisfy their immediate needs whenever they see the opportunities....and it doesn't matter whether it's APC or PDP or APGA that meets them at these points of need.

We know the traffic situation in Lagos. So I found that very untenable whenever people use that as an excuse for their delays.

Don't change the narrative

You claimed "Benue" wasn't in the original lyrics cos the writer doesn't want 2 rivers that has to do with a Country (Nigeria). You forgot that "limpopo" and "Orange" have a link with South Africa.

Mister...just rest!
Mister, so is all other rivers. Don't you just get it? Virtually all the rivers spreads. I said. The idea is to capture as much as the spread. But you were insisting Benue. I guess you were taught that way. In our days we learnt "Senegal".

Go back to KG and relearn your rhymes.

Even Orange river did not originate from any of the countries it passes through. Its source is from the Indian ocean through to the Atlantic. So you solely saying Orange river is from SA really worries me.

ayomilore:
I created a thread sometimes ago about a recall from my former place of work, a bigger firm in the same industry with better pay. I thereafter left the company i was working with then though with a short notice and i forfeited almost half month salary and the little savings i had with them.
I was not confirmed as the time i left so i felt i'm safe but to my surprise the HR was calling me that i should not forget the balance i have to pay them in lieu of notice, this is so frustrating and the last time he called i had to shout on him to stop disturbing me. I tried to get across to few friends in the company and they confirmed that HR is just doing his own bidding as the MD is more preoccupied with more important issues than my case. Please is there any danger in this, note they are aware in my current organization how i left the company. Do i need to be worried for anything.

Thanks.
As yourself if you've breached the terms of contract as stated in you COS. The penalty for such will also be stated in your contract.

Seriously,
Limpopo and Orange are South Africa based rivers. Stop the propaganda pls cos you don't even know the original
Orange river rises from Lesotho and flows through South Africa up to Oranjemund in Namibia. The fact that a river flows through a country does not mean it originates from there. Just like I explained to you that Congo river cuts across 9 countries. You wouldn't name the river by each country.

You Gerrit. If you don gerrit...forgerrit.

Lyrics of the rhymes changes from Country to Country as you can observed from the thread. Benue river isn't synonymous to Nigeria alone, it flowed from Cameroon and travels west ward
Same is the Congo river passes through 9 countries. But the composer wouldn't mention all the countries it passes. "Niger" is already mentioned for Nigeria. Did you see where 2 rivers is mentioned for in any particular country? If you want as many rivers in Nigeria to be mentioned then you can as well compose your own rhyme. I don't know how you were thought in your time, but in our good old days when respect is given to the original composer, "Senegal" was the river mentioned.
Let's give respect to Originality. That's all I'm saying!

Teacher Don't teach us nonsense
The Original mention by the composer is "Senegal". The idea is to mention one river/tributary in Africa.

And mind you, it's a rhyme that kids from many countries sing. It's not only for Nigeria.

Fear women. They may be twins and still have different father genetically.

In rare cases, fraternal twins can be born from two different fathers in a phenomenon called heteropaternal superfecundation. Although uncommon, rare cases have been documented where a woman is pregnant by two different men at the same time.
