I expected this because I did not give more room for explanation of what I said. Nigeria's economy is burdened with challenges that the regular solutions which will adapt fluidly in the economy of other countries who don't have the experience of that we face. Any sane person knows that Nigeria should diversify its source of revenue and agriculture fits the bill but two things make it unable to fly here.





Let these be solved first before any meaningful efforts in that direction can be made.

Tinubu, for the sake of the country stop listening to anything that comes out of the US government as advice. Look at where we are because you followed their advice to collapse the multiple exchange rate into Import and Export window, and remove fuel subsidy. Now, you are thinking of removing electricity subsidy as if the pain you have caused is not enough.

I would never be insensitive to reports relating to tragedy that has befallen someone or people even if it were my worst enemy (no human is my enemy). I am not that kind of person and will never be. I said what I said because I downloaded the video a week ago. It was disturbing to say the least although the video quality wasn't very great. I didn't know the couple but I felt sad in my spirit that the devil was given free rein to end their lives in very despicable manner over a non-issue.

Depends on when it becomes public knowledge it becomes news even if it happened five years ago. The time it gets to public knowledge makes it either fresh or stale. All I'm saying is I concur.

There was a prophecy given by one I consider a true man of God. In 2023, he said what God showed him would happen under Tinubu administration. When Cardoso floated the naira recently on February 9, this was my reply in the thread:

In which textbook or school did you learn that hyperinflation leading to very low per capita income is part of the process that will inevitably lead to a very lasting prosperity? Don't confuse economics with tribalism.

What an elderly man like Pa Adebanjo (Afenifere's leader) saw while sitting the Yoruba people who voted Tinubu (not all of them voted him) could not see it while standing. Time has proven his wisdom to be sharp as spear.

I'm not cheerful about it. Things are cheaper now (but sound bigger in price). The people are poorer to be able to afford those cheap things. That's just the situation on ground. We just want the govement to increase minimum wage/everyone's salary by 200% and the country should focus on production, instead of too much importation.

That's because the dollar is overpriced compared to naira.
(No thanks to those who are sabotaging the exchange rate and profiting from it.)

But Nigerians are dumb and shallow-minded. Comprehension is far from them.

But add to the calculation for better understanding.
Present it in the dollar rate.

For example;
- The water dispenser cost 52k in 2020. At exchange rate of 480/$; that's $108.3
- This year it is selling for 133k, at exchange rate of 1,650/$; that's $80.6


Also the small phone cost about $12.5 dollars then.
Today you can buy it for $6.36 in Nigeria.

Isn't that cheaper?

As a quote currency falls the base currency becomes stronger. USDNGN in this case. If the dollar is cheaper during Tinubu's administration than it was in the previous one then the current administration is under performing. Op, it isn't something to be cheerful since it shows that the country is bleeding profusely.

All the soldiers who lost their lives fighting this menace, the innocent in their thousands who were brutally sent to their graves by this people only for the government to pardon them and release them back into the society on the basis of an oath that has no legal or punitive substance. What a nation.

I feel for people going through worsened hardship under Tinubu. A president who subjects his people to untold hardship while promising light at the end of the tunnel does not know what it is to be a leader.

I have been scouting for a topic like this on nairaland that acknowledges the deadly heat wave experienced yesterday and that has continued till today. It was terrible (first of its kind in Nigeria). The epileptic power supply worsens the situation. Yesterday was a sign that global temperatures have risen drastically.
