This particular testimony is just a drop in an ocean of testimonies as regards the greatness of Jesus Christ. [b]The religious diversity in the world ironically makes the true belief in God so outstanding that choosing it is only a matter of choice and not confusion stemming from a selection of numerous options of religions as this writer would have us believe. I have once said that if I observed and saw Allah's greatness in the manifestation of signs and wonders all over the world in ages past and present and that he is being witnessed by people alive and by those who died and resurrected, and that his attributes and power are not witnessed in any other supposed deity in the world or the universe at large then it goes without saying that Allah would be the true God. However, this is not the case. The only One who has demonstrated such greatness in the whole world as I have described and even goes beyond what I have described is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He is the true God who surpasses every other god and salvation is found only in the name of His Word or only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. There may be many tall and short buildings in a street but if one is asked to identify the tallest, it should not pose a problem to someone who is willing to take time to survey the area in order to identify the tallest building among others. The fact that you were born in a particular building does not make it the tallest in the street. The same can be said of the religions (buildings) in the world (street). A Muslim once had this same doubts after he had unsuccessfully attempted to kill Christians. Following an unexpected accident, the same Christians he had tried to kill took him to their home and cared for him till he got better. This made him question his belief so much so that he cried and asked whoever was the real God to talk to him. He began with asking Allah to reveal himself if he was real. He waited for a long time but there was no response. He then asked the God of the Christians to speak to him if He was real. That was when God spoke to him. The Muslim asked the voice who He is and the voice told him He is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The Muslim, as a result of this revelation, gave his life to Jesus Christ and became a born again Christian. To the writer, if you are really sincere with your questions, then you should embark on a search to seek the true God. Is it not the U.S? Little kids are constantly exposed to the doctrines of Satanism through cartoons, movies, children magazines, games etc. This is not unusual or out of the ordinary. They are only spreading the knowledge of Satanism to include the kids school curriculum. On the whole, they are being indoctrinated daily into Satanism through harmless 'fun' activities. Did I see changes immediately after the dream? No. Not even after a space of months. I even thought the dream was just a product of my imagination when the thorn kept piercing me as before after that dream. However, it happened when I least expected it. The power of that sin was broken and Christ, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, destroyed its hold on me and, for the first time in many months I have served God without succumbing to that sinful thorn. He whom the Son sets free is free indeed It is not my style to reveal personal experiences to the public but I only tell this story to encourage you not to give up. Don't give up asking Christ to destroy that sin's hold in your life and He will answer your prayers. The leader of the demons in the room fearfully and respectfully held the door open for Jesus and I to walk through. [b]PRINCESSO2, I understand what you're going through. As a Christian, you need to understand that sin is powerless before you. You have conquered sin through the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. By 'conquering' I don't mean will power. Will power will get you nowhere, obviously. It can never defeat sin. Your will power is still needed but not to battle against sin on its own. Never ever ever ever give up the fight against sin. Keep asking the Holy Spirit to destroy that power of sin in your life and He will do it if you don't give up. This is only where your will-power becomes relevant in that it helps you in your determination to not give up asking till your prayer is answered. This is faith that moves mountains. Let me give you my experience. I too struggled with a particular thorn sent by the devil to trouble me and keep me from walking in the path of righteousness. God knew my sincerity in trying to obey His commandments and He also saw my weakness of flesh which kept me from obeying His Word. I prayed to God each time after I fell to destroy that power of sin in my life so that I could live a life pleasing to Him. I prayed but it seemed God wasn't listening or that He didn't exist. My prayers seemed like they were made by me and addressed to me, but I knew with my heart, not mind, that God heard my prayers. Isaiah 57:1-2. "The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart; the devout are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death." Of course, this is not the 'general' reason why (God's) people die but it should not be discounted as one of the reasons. Have you read the book, The Final Quest? So prayer is now useless because God's plans now translates to His bounden duty towards you whether you express a desire for it or not. It now justifies your PRIDE of expectation and INGRATITUDE since, in your opinion, it is God's plan, not yours, which He must fulfill and, as such, prayer is redundant. It means you can be lazy or irresponsible and still be rich and great - God's plans to the rescue. God is your robot that cleans your mess, tidies your bedroom, cooks for you and bathes you since it is His plan for you to be clean, to have a clean environment, and be well fed. [b]Let me add one or two thoughts to Scholar8200's answer. One thing is sure, sin hinders prayers. There are people that may have prayed many times for a solution but didn't get what they prayed for. This may be as a result of one or two sins they are still clinging to and are not ready to forsake. The presence of that sin(s) may hinder the effectiveness of their prayers. See, many people will just come and tell you that they prayed for a long time without any visible results, but what they won't tell you is their numerous adventures into the world of sin all that time they were praying to God for the answer to their requests. They think God will lower His standards because of them. 'Be ye holy for I am holy' can never be compromised for anybody. Secondly, when we hear reports of deaths especially when it concerns a believer, we never know what transpired between that person and God during their last moments on earth. It is possible God had impressed upon that person an instruction or command through nagging feelings or thoughts but the person disobeyed thinking it was their imagination and paid the price of ignoring that little voice of warning. In nairaland here, in this section, there was a thread opened for people to recount their testimonies of God's intervention in their lives. A particular young lady's testimony moved me. She narrated that there was a time she went to the school hall to read at night. While reading, she said the feeling to shift her position to the right kept disturbing her. Finally, she obeyed the 'feeling' and did just that. Almost immediately, the cement roof above her collapsed in a heap on the place she was originally. I read the testimony of a foreign pastor a many years ago. He said while preparing to board a flight, he continued to have this persistent bad feeling about his decision. When it wouldn't stop, he got down on his knees and asked God whether he should board the flight or not. The answer came that he shouldn't. Later, he received the news that the particular flight he planned to board had crashed. In the end, when a true believer dies through accident, or wickedness of man, or through sickness, it doesn't mean God did not grant their requests to live long. It may simply mean God used that accident to bring them home, not wanting them to stay any longer in the earth. Their essays are but hypotheses at best. This blind 'faith' in man's limited knowledge (textbooks) is the reason why God has hidden knowledge from the (proud) wise and revealed them to (the humble) babies. Until you provide a conclusive explanation for your conviction in your scientific belief of the origin of existence, your claim to a reasonable man is just like a schizophrenic's claim to sanity. Finally, how can a reasonable man doubt the testimonies of a multitude of people from different races, countries, era, ages, language, and geographical locations, all saying the same thing about the reality of heaven, hell, angels and demons? We Christians easily shout to the hearing of the world that with God all things are possible but our daily lives never reflect our conviction of the power and greatness of God. So unfortunate. There is no excuse for lies. Tell her the truth. She will be committing a grave sin by getting married to someone already married. I am also of the opinion that the polygamous family are practicing Muslims. Everything about this lady's decision screams red from the beginning even if the family in question are not Muslims. Her life, her spiritual life, her future, her happiness, her destiny, her children's future and happiness are all at stake in that polygamous setting just simply because she won't wait for God's answer to her prayers for a suitable husband. Tell her what the Word of God says concerning her decision, the consequences of making that decision and leave her to make her choice. Don't tell her not to get married to the man but give her your thoughts concerning it and let her make her decision. In the end, it is her choice and there's nothing you can do about it. 7 Likes |

He has forgotten that Adam and Eve were created in a perfect paradise but let disobedience rob them of that. He has forgotten that angels were thrown from heaven on two occasions for the sin of disobedience though heaven is the quintessence of perfection. I don't think he has forgotten anything. He is plain ignorant of that fact since he doesn't know the Word of God let alone the essence of paradise. Perfect paradise or world does not make a man perfect. This is why Jesus Christ had to die for man to make him perfect before God. Only a perfect man is suitable for a perfect world. Talk about comprehension disability. The spirit behind the doctrines of the Catholic church is a strong one of delusion that cannot easily be exposed by reasoning with the adherents of the Catholic religion. Your religion only teaches you to ignore what goes on on earth because you are going to HEAVEN.Now, you are making baseless conclusion when you say Christians ignore things which go on in earth because they are heaven bound. In fact, how do Christians IGNORE the things in earth? Never heard that before.
