@ badaru1,

Congrats on your new installation.If you can manouvre a little bit I think you should be able to receive 2M national @21.6E(I do receive both tps listed on lyngsat for the 2m national with at least 70% signal strength.). It is betwwen the Hitv/Trendtv position and W3.Even though I live in southern ghana, with my 1.8,motorized dish I get similar to what u listed.
@ tox9ja.
I still find it difficult to get the OSMI signal   on  NSS 57E c-band using the tps u posted.I get the etv(ethopian tv) with good signal quaity.Is there anything I can do? Thanks
@ gofitech

olofofo/enigma            i motorized my dish to atlanticbird3 5w  c band position,chose a ku band satelite e.g intel 1002, and did the dish setting to select the ku lnb(disecq input 4).with a blind scan i got the 12607v 27500 i agree with enigma; i really doubt if it is intel 1002 as none of tps apart  from 12607 is listed on lyngsat for intelsat 1002 1w(ku section).this is a discovery enigma & co may help us understand.i live in southern ghana,use srt 4653x. 1.8m motorized dish with the ku lnb just above the cband lnb
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-To-Air Satellite TV (Part 1) by captainus: 9:59am On Sep 27, 2008
@olofofo i use a 1.8m motorized dish and have just gotten 72 % signal quality but just like u no channel appeared when i did the search.i guess it is a feed.i will try doing the search again when the matches start and keep the house posted
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-To-Air Satellite TV (Part 1) by captainus: 5:05pm On Aug 28, 2008
@ sayso,

Disecq switch can be used when u have one dish and want to use the same dish to receive different bands(C&KU bands) or the same band(C&C band or KU and another KU band) with different LNBs.

There are four oultlets(for up to 4 lnbs) and a center one which goes directly into your receiver.The other 4 outlets go to the different lnbs. I hope this helps

@ Raw-unkat,

I agree with you, GHc1200 is too much. If possible contact the strong-technologies agent in Ghana.It  may be a starting place.Their contact details are:

@Sathob,
Thanks for the info on the freebies
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-To-Air Satellite TV (Part 1) by captainus: 9:46am On Aug 27, 2008
@ ALL,
Yep the freebies from DSTV are off.Well if they released the channels to 'sign' us from FTA to DSTV, then I'm afraid they have failed because the 'transfer window is closed'.

@Sathob,

Yep RDV went scrambed about 30mins into the match.They used to scramble the channels just when the match is about to begin at the beginning of last season but they left it open for the larger part of the season.I suspect because it was 'match of the week'( a match which even GTV can show),they might not have the right to air it.They promised to show a cuple of matches during the coming weekend ,so let us keep our fingers crossed.

@raw-unkat,

I've just asked my installer and according to him to get nilesat one has to have a 4m fibre dish.For further info u can contact him on 0244124516.He is called Issah.If this guy can't get Nilesat for u I doubt if anyone can .

@ Constant k,

If you read my post above you will solve the problem of the 'same TP exists'.Good luck
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-To-Air Satellite TV (Part 1) by captainus: 9:10am On Aug 22, 2008
@Constant K,
When I went through your posts i realised u are also on trendtv.This  position is where the deal is.If  your receiver has a  blind scan capability, then  rescan and the channels will appear  as Tv1,Tv2,Tv3  etc.

I tried entering the the parameters manually myself  but  the receiver wouldn't let me change the polarity from V to H and the message"same Tp exists" kept appearing.I then deleted the  12284V 26480 which was already on the receiver and tried  adding 12284H 26480  manually  but  still it wouldn't let me enter the polarity H.I even thought it was some DSTV juju    smiley. I then  did the blind scan  and it  was  then they came with the "unofficial" (i.e tv1, Tv2 etc)names

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-To-Air Satellite TV (Part 1) by captainus: 9:26am On Aug 18, 2008
@ all the gurus,

I have  a motorized 1.8m dish ,SRT 4653X receiver ,C&Ku bands lnbs on the same dish.I have been trying for a long time to receive  SABC(1,2,3) on Intel 902(62.0E) but with no success.I've tried the blind scan and  even though the   frequency 3994H and SR 25992 appear  during the blind scan the signal is weak(red coloured instead  of the green).I live in southern Ghana.

1. Am I the only one with this problem?
2. Any help for me?

Has any body tried the OTA(Over The Air) menu on the strong receiver.?According to the manual it's used to download software from satellite.

Please  some help will be appreaciated.Thanks

@Ftalover,
input the following parameters:12476 H 26040 and your dish where trend tv is facing will pick up channel O- it is the only fta channel on that bird.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-To-Air Satellite TV (Part 1) by captainus: 9:45am On Aug 13, 2008
@ojofree,
Yes Channel o is on & it's free.If u probably  do a rescan of your decoder, u  may find it embedded in one of the multichoice(dstv) frequencies quoted on http://www.lyngsat.com/ew4.html .I'm not at home now but I'll check for u when i go home  and post the exact TP and SR for u if u  still cannot get it.
@Ejike,
Thanks for the info.

@ ALL THE GURUS

Can someone please explain to me why 6969 can de-encrypt ETV but not B4U movies(@Pas 68.5 E,Ku and C band respectively ) even though they both have Nagravision 1 as the video encryption? Thanks
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-To-Air Satellite TV (Part 1) by captainus: 4:35pm On Aug 11, 2008

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-To-Air Satellite TV (Part 1) by captainus: 9:27am On Jul 30, 2008
@ Pitodenz,

Yes that's right.I also got the channels yesterday on arabsat 2B@30.5 E.I live in the southern part of ghana and I use 1.8m dish, motorised and SRT 4653X.I used to remove my dielectric to get a good signal for Aljazeera channel
@pas7,10 68.5(C band).Now that wahala is no more.
I hope they keep it FTA.

Somehow I still believe with my location in ghana I should be able to receive nilesat with my 1.8m dish but I'm still finding it difficult.Any help from the gurus in the house will be very much appreciated.If necessary my email address is captainus@hotmail.co.uk

I mean my dish(not the lnb) is motorised.It changes position from one bird to the other  using a jack and  a positioner.

@ baba_egun
Thanks.I will give it a try this weekend.
My 2nd question is that, when I looked at ur set up it is not motorized.I wonder how u get Nss7(22.5W),W3(7E) and Nilesat(7W) all with the dish at one position.
I'm asking this because on my set up ,I have oneKU LNB and one Cband LNB and it is motorized.The dish has to move to get from say 7E before I get say Nss7 not at one position as depicted in ur set up. Yours is amazing,getting all three birds in ONE position.

@ Baba_egun,

When I checked the frequency on the nilesat link u gave above,it appears the beam is for middleeast.I'm wondering if for someone like me in southern Ghana with a 1.8m dish&strong receiver I will be able to receive any of the signals.Please throw more light on this.Thanks

@ all

Nollywood (Trendtv)has announced that, from 7/7/08 it will encrypt all the channels.So for us lovers of fta W4 will be useless unless something crops up again.
