@George D

Thanks .It is indeed cheap considering its advantages over the stand alone one.I'll try look for it here in Ghana

George D

I'm already excited by this disecq 1.2 positioner considering all the advantages u enumerated.I use a motorised dish with the regular positioner and I fully appreciate some of the difficulties with that one.Will be glad if u could post pictures of the  1.2 disecq positioner and the relative cost  of the size suitable for 2.4m,3m pan.

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by captainus: 10:06pm On May 16, 2009
@toxnaija &ALL remember crtv(ghan) on 25e or 28e(not too sure of the angle)? Ten more channels have been added on 12551 v 19512 but only audio of them eventhough i selected tv only.pls rescan and get back to the house. This afternoon my cousin couldnt blieve it when i loaded the mytv patch onto his receive for free.he was going to pay GHc20($15) to get it patched.can u imagine how much knowledge this gr8 thread is giving free of charge?
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by captainus: 11:48am On May 06, 2009
@JaJuk,

Check MBC on W3.They normally show Wednesday matches.Or Arryadia2 on W6.You can get the frequency  on lyngsat  if u don't have them on your receiver.Or better still  check  one of the feeds on sirius4.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by captainus: 10:31am On Apr 28, 2009

@toxnaija,
I did a scan using that frequency yesterday and nothing came up
U may need to change the polarity.I've had the channel for about 2 or 3 weeks now.I use 1.8m motorised pan
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by captainus: 9:34am On Apr 27, 2009
@Dre-Lu,

You may need to change your LNB.It might be faulty.

@GeorgeD, If it is cband,then express 11w had been there for a longtime with 2 russian channels until about a year ago when they went off.if they r back then lets hope they come with something good because those 2 channels were crap .one of them occasionally showed russian league.they had very strong signal quality

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by captainus: 9:21am On Apr 18, 2009
@chuk101 please accept condolences from fta members in ghana. @osef 3 of the 5 tps u posted turned green with about 60% signal quality but no channel showed when i tried to scan.i also realised the tps are more of w3 than sirius.

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by captainus: 1:37pm On Mar 22, 2009
@enitan the 12754 is an alternative freq to 12605.what i realised about it is that it is active on both w3 and sirius.i agree with u on the codecs .alternatively we post it on the group.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by captainus: 11:22pm On Mar 21, 2009
All anyone realised the globecast feed is also on the ff tps:12754v sr 29932 at sirius4?
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by captainus: 1:52pm On Mar 13, 2009
Ecowas4all i can confirm that the patch works for 53x.just make sure u download the .stb file.u may need to extract the .zip file b4 loading on to the receiver.

@pitodenz,

I think what George D was asking for is a suggestion.It's all about opinion isn't it?At the end of the day it's up to George D to do  or not to do whatever is suggested here.

For example,I think the bar extender u suggested is another good point.By the way nobody here doubts your credential as an installer, we all have our little expertise  in some areas.Thanks.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by captainus: 12:41pm On Mar 10, 2009
@George D

I like the innovation of ur 3 lnb holder.

@George D& Ecowas4all,

The issue with your set up I believe has something to do with the length of the jack relative to your dish size(2.4m i presume).I also want to believe that you are using 24 inch jack.

I use a 24inch jack with a 1.8m dish and mine could go as far as nss10(37.5deg W).The problem is the 24inch jack may not be able to extend long enough to push your dish beyond the 22degW as you both have it now.I suggest you go for the 36inch jack(of course cash permitting grin)

To ecowas4all in case you need to know,I saw one heavy duty jack for GHc140 (36inch) in a shop at A&C shopping Mall East Legon.They deal in satellite equipmnet and accessories.You may also want to enquire at the mytv agent.

Enitan/Enigma happy bday guys!two of the personalities i admire on this thread.u share the same bday with my country Ghana. I don't know if ur bday has anything to do with the first 3 letters of ur user names. @Nash-fta thanks for the info on sirius

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by captainus: 3:24pm On Mar 03, 2009
Sammu if u read my last post well,u will realise i stated i was 100% sure those tps are from w3a not sirius because i anticipated statements like the one u made.the tps are different.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by captainus: 10:54am On Mar 03, 2009
Ecowas4all yes i do get w3a.it's funny how mbc, one of the weakest tps, is one of the strongest with up to 70% quality.generally w3a is one of the weakest birds(my opinion).i use 1.8m pan.ku band reception better with pan and cband better with mesh(i stand to be corrected).u may also try playing with the polarities.most of the channels i have,if not all,are on h.i even got an etv feed and globcast i.e vox africa e.t.c on w3a(i am 100% sure they are not from sirius). I've also seen the crtv ads in town but i dont know much about it though i pick it up with 98%
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by captainus: 3:32pm On Feb 26, 2009
@Salamander,

I have been able to pick up the crtv with about 97% signal quality.I however doubt if it's 25.5E. I am inclined to go with toxnaija that it is 28 E.

@sammu,

That key is for audio only.Take a close look at it and it was stated clearly the key is for audio only.

Pitodenz

I'm still waiting for your response on the tp and sr for the crtv on eurobird.Thanks

Thanks for the link.6th March is also the independence day in my country Ghana.

Ecowas4all,
thanks for the effort.I will  keep trying.My coleague at the office who aslo uses 1.8m motorised dish has just told me he's having some difficulty with his cnn,though his is not as bad as mine.

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by captainus: 9:54am On Feb 17, 2009
@ ALL

Has anyone realised that RDV  frequency has been  off for some days now?

@Ecowas4all,

I get TVAFrica(98% quality), Viasat(72% quality) but despite series of tweaking my cnn,france 24etc are still down on nss7 c band.Any more suggestion?
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by captainus: 9:00pm On Feb 09, 2009
